NDIsles has at least 2 foot dry spawns. P14 and A28. Allows someone to spam field supplies and insta fix all guns. Impossible to kill the LVTs fast enough and ruins gameplay. This has gotta be a bug right?
-
I wont swear to it, but I believe the spawn for LVT's is based on distance from the TG, not a dedicated spawn point like the other gv's.
-
There are guys screenshotting these and saving them.. I would assume a little comparison between some screen shots would help. I think these are on several maps btw.
-
Kind of a gameplay killer. No need to up and defend. I can't imagine HiTech wanted this to be a thing.
-
The only way I can think of to prevent it, is to change water depth at the beach. Again it is based on the distance from the TG and is thus variable, gv spawns, pt boat spawns and air spawns are set in the map making process and are fixed.
-
The normal LVT spawn appears to be a fixed distance from the shoreline. As long as the TG is within 10 (?) miles of the maproom, the LVT will spawn about 1/2 mile from the shoreline. Don't know what conditions produce a foot-dry spawn, but am in favor of removing them.

Yeah sometimes if you are closer to town the ft dry spawns disappear. Odd.

All the times I've ever spawn "feet dry" in an LVT from a TG, TG was practically chilling on the beach.

Pull it up in the offline practice arena or a custom arena, and try it out. Do a little testing to see if it is all bases or just a select few.
-
It's definitely not all bases...
-
I did some testing, and I have not been able to duplicate this. I got the Task Group as close as I could, and LVT still spawned offshore. If someone could post a screenshot of where the TG was when this happened, it would help narrow it down. But I could not get an LVT to spawn feet dry.
I'm not saying it didn't happen. I am saying I can't see how it happened.

Of the 4 or 5 foot-dry spawns that I have seen, all occur when the TG is NNE of the town. Clue?

Note: I did leave out one piece of crucial info (sorry about that :o); and that is it was in AH2. On top of that, on maps that no longer exist (IE: All super big maps).

at least 12 or 13 known feet dry spwans on our current map rotation.
-
Defensive resupply feet dry spawns should go but I think offensively it's a great shock tactic.

Current map has same situation again.... bug exploit to say the least

Agreed. They are very good at keeping the group circling so it maintains the feet dry spawn.
I have seen that even if you attack with 5 or 6 guys, the only opposition you encounter is 2 guys just dropping supplies bringing up the guns within seconds.
it does NOTHING for the game.

you all trying to make 72doge mad huh? :D

I'm just hoping we could get the LVT with the M3 Stuart turret we can launch 37mm at those M8's and M18's that squat on the beach. Yes, the 75mm howitxer works great too vs the soft armored gv's... but the trajectory makes for a tall task. :)

Spawning feet dry at the TG's own port is the worst example of this. Instant resupply of the port unless the attackers take down the CV and all 5 support ships and actually I am not even sure that stops it. Seems to happen at some ports when the TG is not very near the port. Definitely needs to be changed.
