Guys,
Been busy learning and dying in LA5. Never flew it much.
This question is for the hardcore LA5 pilots please. Where do you set your convergence?
Thanks,

300 worked for me, though I'm no ruski experten

300 is good and you could get by with 250 if expecting more crossing shots/furball environment.
I'd go with 300 for a scenario and you'll have to be careful with your ammo since it goes fast and with just 2 cannons, you only need to wound a bogey before they bug out. You'd be seeing more e-fighting than twisty turning so a 300+ yard chasing shot is going to be common.

Agreed 👍
anything past 325 / 350 ... in my opinion is going to give you diminishing results

Everyone talks about 200 or 300 being the best convergence, but for me I am very rarely able to get that close to bogey. I have mine set for the maximum, of course my gunnery in a plane sucks. For bombers you don't want to get that close, 1000 out I can nail you most of the time, then you have 999000, 1pest, JVLees, and Finetime, all they have to do is look at you. :D

Regardless of what one might have their convergence set at, you still can get hits up to 1.2K out if you know what you are doing

There are still five La-5's available in the upcoming Eastern Front scenario.
Folks, come join us for the glorious action! :aok

200
shoot closer than that

Convergence on Lau isn't that critical. Guns are cowl mounted. The key is holding your shots until you can't miss :)

200
shoot closer than that
+1 - It's what I have mine set to in the La-5. Get close - get the kill.

Thanks all for the advice!
Does convergence factor in both vertical and horizontal attributes when setting?
Thanks,

Yes the further the convergence the more loft on the guns.

LA5 has some of the most inaccurate guns in the game. They go all over the place. Convergence ain't gonna make that match of a difference as the the guns are both off the nose. The further you set them, the higher they will shoot and can sometimes be helpful in lead shots as you don't have to lead as much for the shot. Under 300 you will have to make sure you really lead the shot. Generally you will always been shooting blind in a la5 on a lead shot. For most planes I do 400 just because of lead shooting. I find shooting directly from the 6 is actually more difficult. For the la5, because of the inaccuracy, I'd recommend between 300 and 350. Anything further and the bullets will probably just go all over the place. You want to make your shot in the La5 between 350 and 200. The closer the better. It's not so much about where the bullets converge but getting both bullets to hit the target you are shooting and that is going to be more beneficial the closer you are with a plane like the La5.
