Republic P-47D-30-RA, 44-33133, 405th FG, 510th FS, 2Z-T, "Tallahassee Lassie", flown by Maj Ralph Jenkins
"Tallahassee Lassie" was the personal aircraft of American ace Ralph Jenkins, and wears the colors of the 405th Fighter Group based at RAF Christchurch in 1944.
From Joe Baugher's site: 510th FS [2Z-T], 405th FG, 9th AF; "Tallahassee Lassie" [named for the pilot's wife, who came from Florida’s capital city]. Also listed as (412th FS, 373rd FG, 9th AF) in take-off accident at Venlo Airfield Y-55, Netherlands Apr 23, 1945. Pilot survived, but aircraft was destroyed.

My inspiration for this skin is the flyable restoration P-47D-40 which is part of the Flying Heritage Collection based in Everett, WA. A real beauty and lots of YouTube of her. (https://imgproc.airliners.net/photos/airliners/9/6/0/2292069.jpg?v=v4)
Apparently also a 1959 American rock-n-roll hit by Freddie Cannon.
