With all of the politics found in the O'Club, it dissuades users from posting non-political topics. Therefore, I wish for a new O'Club where politics are not allowed or a new Politics section, whichever is easiest. Mind you, I am not necessarily asking for politics to be banned as a topic, merely that they get their own section.

No need , after a few weeks the rules in the O'club will be reinstated.

Good... I found I could not tolerate folks who I once though were ok.

People say "never talk politics or religion with others, as you may learn they are authoritarian freedom hating socialists or morons devoid of critical thinking".

While I haven't participated, I found the exact opposite to be true as well. Very enlightening, I need to work better on making friends here. :D

Found it interesting so many liberals play ww2 flight sim games
Seems more now than in 2000 when another election was in question..they are much more into nasty personal attacks on the bbs posters than attacking the politicans and the policies.
I see why HT has to block such discussions

Then why was his post left undeleted?
Is it because it falls on a particular side of the fence?

In the past I used the ignore feature extremely rarely when folks were trolls.
I have used it several times lately on folks who I found to be socialist/communist types. Of course it still works on trolls too.
Use it. You will not miss anything and the boards will improve.

More political comments outside the O'Club.
Is that the new rule?
Do we go ahead and move "the conversation" to the General Forum?

Pretty sure 2021 will bring the locks back.

What does someone's political views have to do with enjoying a game?

What does someone's political views have to do with enjoying a game?
I suspect it depends on the individual. Seems the more fanatical or extremist one becomes the more every single element in their life demands such critical attention. Then it's merely a matter of 100% exclusion or 100% inclusion. And that also explains the (re)defining of others ('the other'). Welcome to AH becoming a political battleground instead of just a simulated game one.

Simple
Certain types are drawn to certain activities

I don’t see how it would harm the forum or game to have a separate section that allowed it. If it were a sub section of the O’club then only those who wanted to see anything there would.
The way it was for a bit, had the topic shown...but still even then we had to open it up to see it. It was still our choice to open and read or not.

I think you've been shown to be incorrect.

There is a separate section..... elsewhere on the web.

There are two issues.
The first issue is that politics generally lead to name calling hence violation of rule number four.
If you also delete rule number four then the animosity spreads to the other forums.

Indeed sir those are issues that go hand in hand.
I’m sure most of us have noted prior to the rule suspension the pushing of the envelope...I hope it works out for you and you are able to focus on bringing us the J2M :D
Thank you for letting us know your thoughts, it’s appreciated by many, some who may not post to thank you.
