Now that Ace High 3 is fully running and there are apperntly no trains in here shouldn't this achievement go by the wayside??

Trains, trucks and barges are on the way back. Bustr and I are both working on MA terrains with them in and in doing so are helping HT to de-bug them.

If you want to see them in action set up a custom arena online and select "bearpit" as the terrain. This terrain has trains to all the strats except the cities as well as trucks to all the vehicle and airfields. The ports have barges running on adjacent rivers.

Is HTC going to use this opportunity to throw in a couple of manned acks on the train? 

Always feel sorry for them being relentlessly pursued.

Manned acks are assigned to fields or task groups and the player just moves to the field/hangar/manned ack and selects an ack. For trains some new way of directing players to a particular train and ack would be needed and I doubt it would be worth the work needed to code for this.

I have brought this "wish" up before in regards of manned guns on trains. In addition, letting GV's from a train at a distance from an enemy base just like a normal GV spawn would.  The train would provide covering fire with auto acks and manned guns as GV's spawn out of the train.

the riftval map has active trains and cargo trucks-the trains are at the strats
