Hello Aces High cartoon pilots,
Ditto here, we are gearing up for our next Aces High Scenario "Battle for Paris"
The Allied slots are all full.
The Luftwaffe is falling short on its requirement of pilots. I know just like the real thing!
We are in need of 109 drivers
If you never participated in a scenario before, please reach out to me or a member of the CM team, and we will get you squared away!
If you can fly a 109, we really need you.
See the registration page for more information
https://ahevents.net/index.php/scenario-registration
You can "WALK-ON" next Saturday at 7 EST in events 2
Battles/Frames:
February……. 4th
February……. 11th
February……. 18th
February……. 25th
Please show up at 7 pm US Eastern time in Special Events Arena #2. (For how that translates to your time, here is a time converter.) End of frame will be nominally at 10:30 pm US Eastern time.

Which model of 109?
-
The G6.
Dolby, come shoot at our bombers. I dare you :devil
Hopefully see you in the skies
-
I'm thinking about it, but I wouldn't waste a G6 on a bomber. :devil
-
Yes
I have 109G6s available
Thank You
Come join us for some fun
Kill some P-38s or P-47s if you like those instead of bombers

Could not find any rules... what's the icon settings?
It was originally posted here in General Discussion back in early December: https://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,406526.0.html
But it was buried under a whole lot of spam since then.
Rule set is here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/e/2PACX-1vTchwinUx2QBEaJ60pXVUvmO7tIBmHuNAsaqZYsocMwO2aPfEWvvJ7APcrbx0JUElV3EiqAoK5y2tSw/pub

Thank you for that link, but icon range settings (for example PlaneSeenIconRange[Plane]) are missing in that document

Ah, ok.
Based on past scenarios, it should be 6K friendly and 3K for enemy.

Just curious Lusche,
is this an event participation killer for you?
Scenarios, for as long as I can remember have been 3K enemy ICON range.
Would like to know what you think? 6K 1K what do you prefer?
Thanks

It's more like just another on top. Without icons, I can basically not see any aircons at all, unless I very much zoom into a known place in the sky (Ever since AH3 I have a very hard time seeing planes at all, I just shoot at icons now).
So probably it would be a dealbreaker if it weren't for the other main issue because of which I stopped doing scenarios about a decade ago (my last one was Tunisia in tour 111): Being in uniform.
I absolutely HATE it, having to focus on flying in formation, following someone else's orders and listen to voice comms for extended periods. In the MA, I'm constantly alt-tabbing in & out every few seconds, even in the presence of enemies, unless I'm actually fighting or tracking something interesting on the map. I can't do that in a scenario, so my attention deficit disorder would drive me insane

Heck I'd sing ya a song if it'd help ya. I can't carry a tune to throw in a bucket... but, oh nevermind... I'll be in a 38. :aok

I see,,
Thanks for the response.
Scenarios are about teamwork and mission. I understand the solo aspect of the main arena.

There was a question earlier about icon range.
For scenarios, icon range is 18,000 ft (6000 yds).
-
Scenarios welcome all players. Also, all levels of experience are welcome, from experts to total noobs.
The main thing we are after is fun.
And we try for, if a person read a 1st-hand account of the battle the scenario is themed on, he'd come away with the thought of, "Hey, that's like how it was for me in the scenario!".
So, we take a historical battle, start with the same aircraft, terrain, and general objectives, and adjust it for action, fun, and balance.
The fighting tends to be many on many, starting at higher altitude, and involves historical terrain and historical aircraft matchups, always with fighters, and bombers and/or attack aircraft in the mix.
-
Those are some fun film. Although I remember 109's and 190's going down. They must have landed barely :neener:
Good fun. See y'all next Saturday <S>

That first Contact was was lots of fun! I remembered that the mission briefing said the JG-2 in the 109G-6's will take on the fighter escort, as we turned in on a sea of Allied Fighters.
I was thinking to myself....Does the Gruppenkommandeur know there is only four of us... :salute I had a great time, better than the MA any day of the week.

We are still in need of pilots to fly for the Luftwaffe!
We were 10 pilots fewer than the Allies.
Even with that, the fights were fun and on going.
Come out and join us 7 PM EST Events arena 2
Attack B-26's and dog fight with P-38s, P-47s, and P-51s
-
The Luftwaffe has been short of Bf109 Drivers for 2 frames
The Luftwaffe has accounted for 106 air to air victories in a 3 hour event.
The action has been intense!
Come join us for Frame 3 for Battle for Paris an ACES HIGH special event!
Saturday at 7 EST in Special Event arena 2!
