Title: Jagdgeschwader 5 "Eismeer"
Post by: LCADolby on January 01, 2012, 07:49:52 AM
Jagdgeschwader 5 "Eismeer" are looking to take on enthusiasts to gain it's first flight of four.
We value the ability to work as part of a team and cameraderie not skill alone, whatever your level, we are sure that you will have fun flying with us! Our fundamental principle when we fly is to have fun and enjoy ourselves while working as a close knit team during aerial battles. We encourage competitive personalities so long as your personal goal does not become the focus of why you are flying, such as flying timidly in order to keep your score. We are looking for members that are willing to go save a squad mate in trouble, willing to help out defensively against the horde and are willing to fly together as a Squad. Space will be given for you to do your own thing - individual flair is something our group wishes to encourage not control.
Thanks very much for reading Hope to be flying with you soon

OK, so, here's the plan; rather than a wing of 4 to start off.
I'm looking to recruit one permanent wingman.
A 109 enthusiast prefered but not essential.
Fighting wing or Double Atttack/Loose Deuce docrtine depending on proficiency.

Dolby is a great guy and a good pilot. One of my original squaddies if I remember correctly. Good in the air and will fight to the death to save a friend. Can't go wrong with JG5.
Too bad he told me I suck and can not join, but I know others will have a blast flying with him.

How many applicants were interviewed for this position?
Why does the Iron Cross recipient look like a German Godfather?
Is his little pinky ring inscribed: 'I <3 Adolf'?
Are Iron Crosses really made from the sump plugs of old Mercedes 190s?
:old:
The most interesting part of being the recipient of the Iron Cross is the induction ceremony, as can be seen below of vintage/unedited/never before seen footage from 1943...
How many applicants were interviewed for this position? There were 1337 applicants. Why does the Iron Cross recipient look like a German Godfather? It was an offer we couldn't refuse. Is his little pinky ring inscribed: 'I <3 Adolf'? No, 'I love 109E'
Are Iron Crosses really made from the sump plugs of old Mercedes 190s? No, they are made from useful things like melted down Volkwagen Beetles.

Caught your training vids for the 109E and 109F Dolby, well done and some good info in there. Anyone interested in a squad should definitely look Dolby up, great guy to fly with and quite entertaining on vox.
On a side note, did you really call the Emil majestic? :P

Alas I think some people are good for business and some people neutral in this regard, if you take my meaning.
Dolby did seem to get a bee in his bonnet over this issue and was unable to heed the warnings (which were plentiful and more than reasonable). Where I in charge I would have suspended him instead, a ban for life seems a bit severe, especially since Dolby's YouTube videos probably do contribute indirectly to promoting the game.
I think an apology on Dolby's part and some consideration on HTC's part about the passion which Dolby has for this game (by way of explaining his outburst) might at least restore him to 'parolee' status?
How about it Skuzzy? He isn't the most rotten egg in the basket after all :pray

Dolby is british, trying to be positive is not in his country's nature or himself, however he is one of the nicest chaps i've met in the game, friendly to talk to and fun.
Give him parolee status and slap him with a warning for few months if he acts up boom gone.
If I can walk a straight line for over a year I think anyone else can.
Title: Re: Jagdgeschwader 5 "Eismeer"

Dolby is British, trying to be unrealistically positive is not in his country's nature or himself,
I had to fix that for you Butcher :lol :salute
Skuzzy takes an abnormal amount of crap from us lot and I think we all need to recognise that from time to time. In this instance he went out of his way to spell it out, but angry people lose any ability for mentalization by definition so it came to naught.
It is Skuzzy's decision, naturally. Either way we must respect that. Dolby crossed the line even though I don't think he is a nasty person nor was it done with malice.

Glad your "out on parole", I wouldn't call it "free" quite yet.
Speaking of squads, you only got 2 members. What's up with that? Are you mean to people? Do you make them fly some dreadful aircraft? Do you have some kind of an accent that makes you sound like an idiot, or a stalker, or pedophile?
So what is up with that ?

It's free enough for me, SirNuke was planning on having me guillotined :cry
I have 2 members cecause of... erm... tough question. I'm not mean to friendlies, the 109E is a wonderful aircraft, my accent makes bares no resemblence to those things ddodgy things you of which you speak.

You think the German wording is putting people off? I think that is a great shame if that was true, because as I know so far, the only thing putting off people joining me is that certain people PM my prospectives and are bad mouthing myself and my squad.. Even my XO has been exposed to such an experience. Anyway, it's their loss not mine. :salute

Valen became entirely different in the last couple months. As i can judge, he has the willing to improve, whats respectable. Titan, RedBull, Alfa, get off the high horse, lads. Im getting tired seeing all theese banter fests. Thank you.
btw im an epic fail in any fighter aircraft, just ask FlyinFinn or IraqVet. <sigh> I dont fly the 109s too often nowadays tho.

Dolby failed to stop and exchange insurance details after colliding with the rear of my Nakajima in some German sausage machine. The frail German engineering naturally broke apart in the collision but my Nakajima was scratched quite heavily and also two of my cylinders were damaged. Typical BMW driver thought the outside lane was just for him. :old:

Myself and Pervert are indisposed on the time and days you have put forward due to it being wash day :old:
Both are gussets are badly perished and require firm attention :cry
Wash day is very important in the old world due to the hardness of water in our respective households.
The hard work and pounding in our underwear is due to heavy work load and pie consumption and thus means we need the allotted time slot provided :old:
I will endeavour to express the Typhoons prowess in the MA on a Ad hoc basis :)
ps Pervert is right to point out that i am indeed trained in the Eagles Claw, a technique acquired whilst living in Oldham in Northern England from Albert Raj Pal Singh of 23 Round Bottom Road, Oldham Mumps.
Dolby is fantastic by the way even though he is Welsh :old:

Hello. I'm new and looking for a german fighter group.
Welcome to the game ! I'm sure our CO, Dolby will be along shortly to discuss our squad. I really like flying with them myself and would wish this would be the type of squad more people could end up with. We are currently flying Knights so please PM me next time you are on and we will get you involved to see what we are like.

William, Zoney is great. If you are looking for the premier German Iron crew, it is JG5. There are a couple of them though we seem to be ahead of the curve.
Some JG5 names to look for
Dolby Ehler Latrobe Zoney Redbull Boo Vinkman
If you pull up the roster, switch to squads and look for JG5 Eisemeer you can find us. I specialize in the 190A5, Redbull the 109K4, Latrobe the 109G-2-14, others are generally skilled at kicking butt in about anything German.
We seem to focus on abusing others like Zack, 80th Headhunters in their P-38s etc

I'm looking for a unit to take part in scenario games with. I'm a bomber pilot, a veteran of the Squad Select Series of games in WarBirds 2, a decade or so ago. I've just started flying in AH recently, and have been shaking the rust off. I'm really pleased that the He111 is in AH now, as a change from the Ju88. I'm fairly useless in fighters, but don't mind making up the numbers in a fighter as someone's wingman when required.
Would you like to tell memore about your unit's current activities?
I look forward to your reply.

Mein Volk... Sons and Daughters of Eismeer... For many years, we have been broken Kampfpiloten; Corralled! Shunned! Oppressed! by those Allied Groups we sought to escape.
3 years ago, I asked for time, and that time was granted by you. You! the strength in my arm, the holders of my dreams.
We embarked on the greatest exodus in the history of all AcesHigh. An exodus for freedom, Eismeer became that freedom. Our new world changed our styles. At first, it weakened us, but in fact, we were growing... Stronger!
In the time you have given me, I have rebuilt our Geschwader, I have rebuilt our strength, and I have rebuilt our pride! Our enemies at home have been re-educated; we have given them new insights into our cause.
On this day, we stand united once more. On this day, those driven to divide us will hear our voice! On this day, we shall act as one, and we shall be ignored NO MORE!
Defenders of the Eismeer dream
NOW IS OUR TIME!

A Rundown on JG5 and it's Groups. In JG5 there are 4 wings meaning JG5 will be limited to a maximum of 16 active members. The 16 is split into 4 separate wings of 4 members, with corresponding Squad name and emblem. This is so JG5 is able to work well as a unit in any environment without having to saturate an area by numbers, but rather by sound tactics and squad cohesion. Each wing employs the type of wing tactic which works best for them and their aircraft, matching similar types of flyers together aids these wings build camaraderie and to gel as a fighting force.

Dolby invites you to the Final Farewell to JG5 “Eismeer”, which will be closing its doors. Friends and guests, squad members past and present, you are all invited to a night of fighter sweeps, fights, and general silliness to say good by to a squad whose flame burned bright but very briefly. (PM your interest and a night will be organised)
JG5 in brief; I started JG5 “Eismeer” from humble beginnings back in September 2011. I was flying alone in the arena under the banner until I opened for recruitment in the 2012 New Year. The first member, Raphael joined that May and went to become the Executive Officer. Raphael and I terrorised the Main arena in our 109Es for months after and enjoyed fighting in our early war rides which resulted in our first film together.
Nearly 1 year after the squad was formed, the squad numbers doubled with the intake of Debrody and Valen, two fantastic fighters and wingmen. A month later another 2 joined the ranks but sadly 2 had left. The following months JG5 enjoyed the recruitment of ReVo, RedBull and Latrobe, valuable and talented fighters which helped bolster JG5 as a Top Ranked Fighter squad, managing 3 months in a Row at the height. 2012 Had proved to be a good year for JG5, fighting as a group, laughing and joking around.
But as with any story a change in fortunes are always lurking around the corner. Although early 2013 started just as well as 2012 the good times did not last. A staleness fell upon the squad and minor quarrelling took it’s toll over the squad’s direction and began to sap the fun out of flying together. After such events and the loss of very influential people, very few were coming to be recruited. I tried myself to rebuild the squad back to its former glories, with awkward flying times being suffered by members, slow uptake of recruits, exits were increasing.
Patience to rebuild could only go so far;
So just shy of 2 years after the squad's inception, I say with a heavy heart that sadly JG5 will cease to exist in the Main Arena. It has been a pleasure being the overseer of such great squad mates over the years in my time as CO of JG5 and wish all past and present members of the squad all the very best with their future endeavours.

I seem to be covering the biggest of them in game, so the name fit very well on me. :devil
Also, the brand was the only one made in my size, as I found out when Dahmers' mother made me run to the corner store... she normally has a huge stash of condoms in her night stand but it seems her and I have used them all......
