Title: Mission Request
Post by: angelsandair on June 06, 2008, 02:50:12 AM
I requested a mission a while back, but after the boards went down, I completely forgot about it, plane set and everything. But I think I have a clue.

Could someone make this mission for me?

It was something like that if I recall.  :aok :salute

from what I understand the two most prolific mission makers are neck deep in requests right now.  Have you tried using the mission editor and building your own?  I've messed with it a little bit with Baumers help but haven't had the time to really get into it.

Anyway... patience bro

specifically what problems are you having with it?  maybe if you posted that in the mission editor forum baumer, ranger, or soda, could give you a few pointers

I'll try to do this at some point soon after my exams are over (tomorrow), but no guarantees.  In the meantime, I'd recommend that you try starting a very simple mission from scratch, using the Mission Editor's built-in help thing and someone else's as well (sorry, I forgot who made it, but a search in the Offline Mission Editor and in the Offline Missions forum should find it).  By simple, I mean take-off, go around, then land.

Just a little tidbit to drool over.  I have it on good authority that one of the off line mission designers and one of the better terrain guys are collaborating on a new mission that will flat knock your socks off.  I've managed to get a peek at it and WOW  :O  We're going to love it.  Can't say more because I'm sworn to secrecy at this point.

I dont know... I'm still waiting for this one to get finished. I usually dont make them, I kinda find other missions from people and use them. But this is the first time I wanted to make one and nobody had made/requested a mission similiar to this one.

You make it from the Mission Editor (ME)

Here is the link to download it (The present version) http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,234211.0.html (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,234211.0.html)

not sure what may be causing the planes to explode in your attempts to create missions.

I do have a question though have you tried to download the ME tutorial that I did.

link here
http://files.filefront.com/ME+tutorialdoc/;10065225;/fileinfo.html (http://files.filefront.com/ME+tutorialdoc/;10065225;/fileinfo.html)

if you follow this step by step it should give you the basics to get started with. It is the tutorial that came with the ME but with pics to help in showing what is needed next and where to find it. Some people here ( i think most anyway) have had good luck using this. Otherwise I would say post a copy of the mission and one of us will look at it to help you fix it.

good luck

Sounds like you have friendly collisions turned on in your offline arena settings.

no, I checked all of that. It does this after I land an old mission, new one blows up... :noid

I have to start AHII all over again.

Check that in your Mission Editor, you've set the "briefing time" to more than zero seconds.  I thought this had been fixed, but I'm not sure.

angelsandair,

Are you saying that you can't up a second mission after you land the first? Is this limited to trying your mission after flying the first or is it any mission?

If it happens no matter what the second mission is, it might not be a problem with your mission but a problem with the game itself. In this case I would post something in the Tech Support forum and see if Skuzzy or someone can help you. Imyself have never had this problem.

I would also  suggest doing some testing. For instance run the mission that you created as soon as you get into offline practice and see if it works then. Then test itagain a second time right after finishing the first and see if you still have problem.

If the problem is still present then check to see if the ackis firing at you. If this is the case then you are taking off from the wrong base. You canonly use Knights (red bases in ME) and Bishops (bue bases in ME) and it is possible to switch those but you will end up getting shot at and killed by ack.

Try those and let us know

But yes, it happens EVERY time I run a mission and land it. I've never upped a mission twice in a row w/o having to re-start the whole game.

Just to clarify.

The first mission that you run works fine then right?

If this is true then it sounds like a problem with the game itself and should probably be posted in Tech Support Forum.

May need to either delete the cache folder or re-install the game. Just guessing here.

You should be able to up a mission two times in a row with no problem.  I do it over & over while testing.  Very strange.

The only other suggestion I have is to email Skuzzy or Sudz and see if they can help. If you try that I would suggest that you tell them that you posted in tech support and it got bumped to here.
