We are looking for a few laid back folks to fly with. Below are the prerequisites.
1. You have to play AH because you think it's fun. Sometimes I wonder if some paying customers are really having fun:)
2. You gotta like the P-47. Not just to pork a base on a suicide mission.
3. You can fly whatever you want in the MA, but when we happen to get together, we will fly a Jug.
4. There is no planned squad night at this time. Maybe in the future.
5. You gotta have thick skin, and cursing on VOX is encouraged.
6. Events: I love them - especially when a jug is in the plan. I hope members would try to attend - however, I understand life and time zones get in the way.
7. Skill level doesn't matter. See rule number 1. However I bet you will get better flying with the 56th.
8. That's about it.

I am still feeling out the country thing. I have flown Bishop and Knight and there are good folks in both. Currently flying Knights. I guess the country isn't a subject of contention for me, but the answer would be Knights. Once we get a few members maybe we will take a vote to see which country we settle in so we can go pick on the other two.
There are only two of us right now. Aztec is on the east coast and flies when he can. I'm in Germany so I get to fly anywhere from 1830 to 2400 CET. Weekends allow me to fly more flexible hours.

It sounds like you would be a good fit. One thing - there are only two of us right now (unless I can talk Nomde, Frenchy, and Pollock to return). Which means you will probably fly with Aztec or by yourself during the week. During the weekend, we will be able to hook up. But as we grow, that will change!
Like I said, skill level isn't important to me - shat, I suck right now myself. I guess AH isn't like riding a bike. I used to be pretty darn good in 2004, but can't seem to get in my groove now:)
When get together, our P-47's will be feared:) Let me know when your available - Saturday night will probably be the next best time for us to hook up. I'm tuned to VOX 156.

Anyway, if there are any P-47 players out there that want to have fun and learn how to fly their Jugs past the limits, this squadron will be THE place to do it. I really enjoyed my time in a superb P-47 squadron.
If you do choose to fly bish or knight and come across a rook moss6, just ru... errr.. I mean just fly straight and level... yes, and slow down a bit.

I don't care what country we fly for:) That is up for a majority vote as far as I'm concerned. I have enjoyed my last few weeks as a knight - always seem to be the underdog (more targets) and the people seem genuine. Even thought the Knights seem to be the most unorganized for the "war effort". Bunch of good sticks though!
Next time I see you in the MA, I'll send you an invite. It'll be good to have a great P-47 stick in the squad!

Hello 56th, are you still looking for Jug pilots? I have been a 47 fan for years now but have just returned after a 3 year absence from AH ( :huh ) I last flew with 'The Few' who were an awesome bunch of guys but now I am looking for something different, I am English so am pretty flexible with European times. When I came to the game, the 56th was thumping on all cylinders. And they became somewhat of a role model squadron for me as I began the 11th. Great guys like, Nomde, Yucca and others... who supported my efforts to build a new Luftwaffe force, and were helpful along the way. Eventually we had some great high altitude battles together, and the 56th not only taught me respect for the thunderbolt, but respect for ones foemen, and humility in victory.

The 56th was the first AH squad I joined, back when I entered AH as Lowejg. Ammo Nomde and Yucca were there I think it was Sancho that recruited me. I see you guys picked up Trap78, he will make a great addition to the 56th. Glad to see you guys back again. Good Hunting. :aok

Thx again Stampf...truth is I felt the same way as you about the original 56th and it has come full circle. I'll always treasure my brief time spent with JG11. In my opinion you guys ARE the Premier Squad in AH and I hope we can gain some measure of the fellowship and class that JG11 has. You taught me much in a short time Sir!, :salute

Good Luck 56th! I've loved the 47 forever and use it 99% of the time when I'm in game. I rarely participate now but when I do
I'm with they guys of The Flying Circus. We've been a squad in this game for better then 13 years........mostly crotchety old guys
who at this point just fly for the fun of it......when we're on we fly poorly together as a team!

He's a great addition to the squad! We got fly wing together the other night and managed to survive and land several kills between us. We cleared each others six several times and destroyed a pair of well flown KI43s.

I'm here to log an official complaint about Messiah.
He got my silly arse killed.
I upped a November with 50% and went out furballing on the deck. Everything was OK because Messiah says the November with 50% is superior to the Michael on the deck with WEP. I'm also rusty as heck, old and near sighted. So I proceed to dazzle an A5 with my ability to foil his high Yo Yo's with my superior but, just a bit late turning to follow him up and wallow out then dive away to reset. But, I'm finally on to his rhythm and slowly closing the circle of popups and run outs we are now linked in death to.
To make a long boring story short. Messiah you dork. You forgot to tell me about the box of low flying B17's they would send to rescue their darling dumpling A5 from the evil 7 ton over weight bully by flying up behind him low on the deck and unloading the whole boxes 50 cals into my silly kester.............It just seemed so perfect he was hanging up there in my sights for no reason I could tell.
Seems I scared him so bad he was drenched in swet and his hands wouldn't stop adrenalin jittering after that fight. He wouldn't stop PMing me for 10 minutes. So Messiah, I told him to follow you around for Jug lessons since my rusty worthless Jug ACM gave him that kind of a woody.....heheheheheeheh. After you show him the JUggy way, he will want a same sex marriage. Beware 56th, I pointed him in your direction you cutie pies....... :t

No but some one from a german squad HO'd me off the merge earlier that evening when I showed up over that island in the November jug. And I got ganged there with a D11 in the mix when I came back. A lot of red guys were working my 7ton easy kill at that island each time I showed up. Just the cost of doing business in the MA... ;)
But, not the A5 pilot I was dueling with. He was more interested in the ACM dance and earning the 6 position. We both had excellent HO windows over that long 1 vs 1. Then that dork "fish" drove his 50 ton B17 freight train up my blind side.
Now I'm looking back and wondering if the M on a light fuel load on the deck with WEP would have pulled me up faster and longer ending the fight at the first popup by the A5. After fish blind sided me, I got pissed and went back in a spit8 and slaughtered all of the german iron I found at that island along with killing fish's bombers that were still trolling around the furball.

I really miss the 56th, back in the early days I always wanted to hang out with you guys but just couldn't catch you when you were on. I've been a jug lover for a long time, just never really got into flying it because for better terms lack of enjoyment with flying with others who fly it.

We are looking for a few laid back folks to fly with. Below are the prerequisites.
1. You have to play AH because you think it's fun. Sometimes I wonder if some paying customers are really having fun:)
2. You gotta like the P-47. Not just to pork a base on a suicide mission.
3. You can fly whatever you want in the MA, but when we happen to get together, we will fly a Jug.
4. There is no planned squad night at this time. Maybe in the future.
5. You gotta have thick skin, and cursing on VOX is encouraged.
6. Events: I love them - especially when a jug is in the plan. I hope members would try to attend - however, I understand life and time zones get in the way.
7. Skill level doesn't matter. See rule number 1. However I bet you will get better flying with the 56th.
8. That's about it.

Yes you did.
The only way for me to get the boys to those Liberators for even one pass was to give up that 5K from 25 to 20. Even with blowing straight through, it was all defensive from that moment onward. We could find no clear high blue and were pinched tight between several waves of fighters. All I could do was try to get you guys down to a manageable altitude and speed, for our Zero's to have any kind of chance. You guys did an excellent job at maintaining your advantage throughout the entire engagement. As soon as I saw how you were managing the fight my heart sank as I realized we up against an disciplined force.
Even so...when we got down to <5K, I felt at one point we could carry the fight as we began knocking a few of you down. But it wasn't to be, as you guys just did a great job covering eachother and working each kill together. To even pull for a quick snapshot on a Lightning was to put ourselves in another's gunsight. A sign of excellent teamwork and wingmanship on your part.
At one point a large friendly squadron was in range and could have tipped the scales in our favor but they chose to "steer around this furball"...is what we heard on vox. Can you imagine? Perhaps they were out of fireworks...I don't know. Anyway, it's great to have the 56th back in FSO, and a good sound thrashing like you gave us last night is a good thing every now and then.

The 56th is recruiting Jug Heads that want to have fun, can laugh at themselves, laugh at everyone else, and make fun of people in a cordial and subtle way.
Interested parties must be at least 11 years of age but we prefer people over 21 years of age. I am afraid juvenile recruits may end up getting me in trouble with the language used and topics frequently discussed on VOX and TS.
If you are interested, please send me via PM a 100 word essay on why you like jugs. It doesn't have to be grammatically correct or conform to APA format.

BTW - note to all: if you've never read about Boleslaw M Gladych's antics, I recommend it. Any book about the 56th FG will go into some detail but recommend Bob Johnson's and Hub Zemke's book as a start.

The things the 56th can do with there jugs is amazing was in a spitfire 5 chasing LilMak's D11 down there all low and slow and i was violated by his 8x50s when i started the fight above him a couple months ago :salute.

If my memory serves, the whole group switched to Ms at the same time, but received D-25s and D-27s to phase out their razorbacks. It's most likely a D-25 in the picture.

The Bubbletop closest in the image is supposed to be Gabreski's D25. The other Bubbletop is supposed to be a p-47M - Pengie IV to be exact. It was the plane of that crazy arse Pole.
We have Gabreski's D25 skin and a razorback version of Pengie II

Let one of us know if you're interested in joining our squad. We typically are a P47 squad, but lilmak only gives you "guff" when you roll a sortie outside of the honorable jug. :devil

The thunderbolt is a great teacher. If you can learn to win dogfights in it, you'll be untoucheable in a Spitfire or any cannon plane. :old:

i'm currently flying knights and i like the P47 and the Mustang and the Lightning. i have been playing since june of this past year. so i'm still fairly new to game and looking for someone to fly with.

I think I've flown something else about 10 times total. A few bombing runs and a 38 a few times lol. I wish more people would come up to 20k+ and fight though.

Super bee is exploring his options in the AH world. he is has a long standing interest in the LW rides.
he left the squad to hang with some other LW guys. I advised against it and also advised against the Squad hopping thing. he is only 14 and will learn.
he is already missing flying with me and came back to Rooks to hang with dear old dad. I told him that maybe when he is ready that he see about coming back to squad up with me after he explores the virtual world.
funny thing is he gets his butt handed to him in AH and then goes to WT and takes it out on the WT people.... lands consistent 19-0 sorties. I told him its about time he take of the training wheels and fly with the real virtual pilots.
I know that once he gets his legs under him and stays with it he will be a very good AH pilot as well.

I was wondering if you guys are still looking for members? I took R&R for about 3 years. I was a member of the Cactus Air Force for 2+ years flying with OddCaf and the guys. I love flying the jug, mainly the 11 and 25. My air to air sucks, by my jabo and buff skills are pretty good. I try to fly in the evenings as much as possible and some on the weekends.

I was with the 56th for awhile, redid their webpage http://www.56fg.net/index.htm I dont think there are very many left. Yucca pops in now and then but most of the other moved on. There just wasnt enough fighter action for them.
