Thanks to Lyric1 for finding me the info for this skin although I seem to recall I skinned the same aircraft once before on the old AH F4U-1 shape. There is a photo of the real aircraft here (http://www.warbirdinformationexchange.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=48980&start=0).
Spirit of '76 was flown by Major R G Owens, CO of VMF-215 while based at Munda airfield in the Solomons during September 1943. At this time it wore a field-applied coat of non specular sea blue over its originally light blue top surfaces with its star insignia modified with red borders and bars.

Anyone else not seeing Greebo's pics? For me they show up as blue question marks.
Skins from others are showing.
I never had this problem until recently.

A couple of months ago without warning my ISP shut down the free web space I have always used to post images. I'm supposed to get some more web space from them to replace it but they've screwed this up. So I opened a Photo Bucket account and uploaded the screenshots of the last four skins I've done there instead. I've no idea why you aren't seeing them Buckshot.

Gooood stuff.

Beautiful work, although my research is that the wing uppers for US tricolor aircraft should be ANA 606 semigloss sea blue, rather than 607 non-specular (Navy Spec SR-2c).
Specs for tricolor here (though their swatches are VERY off): http://www.jpsmodell.de/dc/schemes/usn43_e.htm

Thanks for the feedback Saxman. I was basing this aircraft on the assumption that this was a field-applied scheme and they may have used whatever paint was to hand. I also left the underside in light grey rather than painting it white. As this skin is submitted, locked and under review now I can't alter it now anyway, but for future tri-colour skins I will take your advice on board.

Thanks, Greebo. Today I saw a new F4U-1 skin download. It was this beautiful skin. I am now too sexy for my gullwings.
Thanks for all your work.
