Title: P-51C-5-NT "Lucky Leaky II" Lt John Davenport, 353rd FG / 352nd FS
Post by: oboe on June 28, 2020, 11:00:37 AM
Briefly assigned to the 339th FG, this aircraft was christened "Lucky Leaky II" while assigned to Lt Davenport with the 353rd Fighter Group.   While being flown by Lt Leroy Pletz, she was bellied in after Pletz switched fuel tanks and the engine cut out on 2 May 1945.  At the time of her demise, she was a war-weary squadron hack.  She was declared salvage on 26 May 1945.

You've outdone yourself oboe, this one takes the cake. Love the checker work and rudder. Colors are spot on. Fantastic job, sir.
