Title: Combat AI's taking over FSO?

This is not a problem.. Just a request.

In frame 2 of The Green Hell, I had what I thought was 5 or 6 kills, maybe more, so I went to the field and re-armed. When I was upping, I was about 10 sec off the runway and I disco'd.

Is there a way to make a Combat AI that could take over your plane? For ex. follow the closest possible friendly, and if an enemy got on it's tail, it would run? Discos are very very frustrating and I was MAD  :lol 

I was hoping to become a double ace by Frame 2, but it was only 3 kills (8 so far).   :aok

So your saying to recode the game to allow for AI to hold a place for you because You disco?

Not likely :)  That's alot of effort on the game for  a minimal benefit.

Could try it before CT comes out. But hey, that's not up to me, and I already put a thread up in wishlist forum.

I guess this could be a "what do you think" instead of a "wish"  :noid

hope it happens, as I still pay my way every month,

I could just read the log to see how my AI pilot did in FSO, prob better than I could.

We have discussed and I have personally thought how AI might possibly work in FSO and in other events once Combat Tour comes out.

And the only thing I could really conjure up, is GV actions and Bomber Formations. While the battle rages in the sky, below on the ground is an AI ground war that is decided by how well the two sides can support the tanks and vehicles.

AI bomber formations would be useful for Bomber Scenarios, allowing us to be flexible in the way that people who want to fly fighters could fly them, as there is always a endless supply of Bomber pilots.

We have discussed and I have personally thought how AI might possibly work in FSO and in other events once Combat Tour comes out.

Could be an easier way for HTC to try it out. Of course it would have to be for level bombers (there is a problem with the dive bombers still right?)

I think he is asking if it is a good idea or not, to have it. 

You should leave  the technical details, recoding, cost benefit analysis, and the if it is going to be done or when for HT to decide.

But the "when" and "If" it is going to be done in the SEA, will be up to the CM Team (at this time ROC, Myself, and others).

I don't think the technical difficulties in coding something are up to you or ROC.  Had he said no because we don;t want to then yes, my response would have been different.  Something like "I did not know you own HT or SEA" or something like that  :D

Oh, I forgot.  If HT thinks it is a good idea and it should be done, I would like to see your email telling him that you and ROC will think about it and decide  :rofl

So when the original idea was posted we naturaly took it in reference to use in the SEA.

That is what ROC and I are responding to hence the title of this BB.

Yep, but there was no response on the idea.  Only on how hard it would be to implement.  I think that should be left with HT and not the players, no?  :aok

How can there be no response if you keep quoting me?  Seems to me I did respond.  Seems you don't like the response but frankly, that's not my problem.
