I remember AH for a brief time offered AH on CD rom for purchase. Did that really happen or is the memory I have of that just a product of brain damage?
-
Ahhhh it did really happen! Does anybody own this?

Haha! Amazon had only 2 new ones remaining and I just bought one! Two months subscription for $10! Suck it!

MrKrabs how long have you been playing Aces High? I'm guessing quite awhile if you found Aces High at a Target store.

What was the cool poster?
Yes. I must see this cool poster.

Back in the early days of AH, you could order a CD-Rom from HTC.

Holy crap! It amazes me how little information HTC provides their customers. I've played this game for years and years and just today I found out you can have different text chat tabs.

HTC should make an experimental batch of fan products, t-shirts, embroidered baseball caps, posters etc. I think they would sell at least in limited quantities.

Ooooh the directions to the game are scattered throughout every individual patch readme file just like any video game. All a new player has to do is compile them all. Good thinking semp!

Zack I hate to do this on a open forum but I just want to be friends...................... ...... :P

I believe what he was answering the question as to why we do not tell people about new features. We do. We do place that information in the readme for each patch. If you do not read that file each time we patch, then yes, you would have to compile them all into on ginormous readme. Although, it would seem easier to me to just read the small readme we put out with each patch.
We also post those readme's on the WEB page for each patch.
I suppose we could make a video for each patch, but that would also rely on players watching it.
I am sure, one day, we will have the technology to force people to read or watch things, and then the problem will be solved. WOOHOO! :)
Am I being glib? Been up for three hours already,....what do you think?
-
I think the game needs more accessible instructions for new players.

A series of youtube instructional videos might do the trick.
-
I'm thinking like reference material. Like a pdf.
-
The poster is the cover image. It came in a dvd case type thing, not an old school box like I was hoping.

Working on those. We got the start on our channel already. Working on the keyboard and stick mapping videos now.

I'd rather HTCs produce more posters than rewrite or copypasta the games instructions into a PDF.
My logic isn't that it's of no value, but when one uses the internet to download the game, they can use the internet (and the website and forum) to also learn anything about anything within or about the game.
On the other hand, if someone could produce a 2 - 5 page PDF explaining almost everything about the game one needed to know, please do send it off with game download. But I suspect a satisfactory product would be 50 pages up.
-
God I wish this game would sell a bunch. The sad thing is I recommend this game to all my friends but they aren't inclined to play it because of the steep learning curve and the monthly fee.

I suppose it's not about the price, it's about having to pay. And having to learn. And not understanding this is a hobby instead of a no-brain pastime for odd moments. Hobbies always cost something, be it time, money, effort or whatever.
Recently I joined a guitar builder course in attempt to build a Thinline Tele. I've never done anything with electric woodworking tools. So mention I managed to get the big professional circular saw on fire - luckily I probably don't have to pay for it! I also suppose the result will cost at least as much as a factory built one without any warranty about the quality.

Yep, the game needs a manual. Whos's up for it?

We talking just basic or advanced stuff too?

Will they be in that gawdawful "check six" drone, or will some sweet thang with a honey-sweet voice whisper it to us?
