This is a question that gets regularly asked among many different groups of players. Sure sure everyone is entitled to their opinions but in my own you do realize how funny it is to read posts from players that arent actually playing.
Just a bunch of wind blowers not paying their dues yet like to influence the minds of players who actually play :neener:

They've contributed greatly to the forums and the game in the years they played and in many
instances will do so again if Aces High / HTC can get a handle on "fun" gameplay that ensures
a healthy subscription base.

whose only "skills" are (a) bombing and (b) taking advantage of the current bomber
flight model/tethering code.

No, you're not. This subject has come up regularly on the forum. You wouldn't have to do too much forum searching to find several discussions just in the last 12 months (while you've been VERY active here) debating whether forum use should be tied to an active game account. The resounding answer has been NO.
You only need look as far as this thread, only 2 days old by Artik, for the reason why forum participation should not be tied to an active account: http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,376839.0.html Here is just one example of a player who has played and contibuted to the game (positively, I might add) who can't keep his account active right now but plans to stay up to date via the forums AND is still going to contribute content (related to new maps!) for the new game. Would you want to exclude Artik from the community? Would you do this simply so you don't get trolled on the forum?

Please read your comment above very closely and think about your "participation on the forums". Have your contributions tended to be in the first category or the second? Are you sure you are on solid footing to take a stance against trolling?
There are plenty of us forum users who never (or rarely) get trolled, and I think it is because we try to limit our posts to something useful and generally thought out. When I first came to AH I made a few dumb (in retrospect) posts thinking I was the first person to have thought the great thing I was thinking. I got trolled and stomped on and quickly learned the hard way. I changed my approach to one more humble and inquisitive of the community. There is so much to learn and do in Aces High, which is what makes it great! There is almost always someone who knows more on any given topic and even though I've been around a while now, I still learn new things all the time. In my view, you have only mastered 10-20% of the learning curve of activities in this game, honestly maybe even less than that. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, because there is so much to the game. But take that into account when considering how your "expert opinions" are viewed by others.
So, if people have labelled you a troll and a forum spammer and have responded in kind (or unkindly, as the case may be), it's probably because you've earned that reputation over time. If your intent was NOT to be perceived as a forum troll and spammer, then my advice would be to consider a different approach. There is only ONE THING YOU CAN CONTROL and that is your own actions. Always look at that first, before you starting talking about the actions of others. That's my advice. I thought I'd try it one last time.

Wizz it would be a good idea for you to take this advice.
You have been posting "Look at me" "Look at me" "Look at me" posts a lot.
You would be much better off if you tone it down about 99.9% less.

I played for 11 years and just recently returned. Bipolar is probably around 7-8 years or so? On a guess of course.

Recurring theme in most situations is not to box anything in (or out) with unnecessary rules that limit options/ideas for adaptation/improvement.

I don't. Even if some folks don't play they can still contribute. I've gotten help in many areas from folks. I stopped playing for 2 years, yet I threw what I knew around to folks who asked.
I do t know what you're goal is if your truely attempting a troll or just playing dumb or trying to push folks buttons or just trying to get your post number up or what.
Bottom line you don't need to be active in game to contribute.
Just be mindful of your actions.

I know there are quite a few that don't like me and I am fine with it. However, I have lost count of the evenings spent on vox training folks who had basic to advanced questions and training them in whatever plane they had questions about. Hopping to the DA or an ad-hoc mission type wingman training in the MA. Helping with FSO's, Scenarios and being involved in the early meetings of what the current scenarios are based on. But I never asked for a single thing in return.
People like Wizzie have no concept of respect or sociability within a community. They are selfish and will do everything to justify their lack of actually trying to better the game for others.

Another fine example of the sickness that runs rampant on this game. Voicing ones opinion when it disagrees with a certain player base will only get that person shot down. What people like you fail to realize is I have been around awhile. I used to contribute but in vain. There is a sickness within this community as I have stated before. Its not everyone and I rarely single people out. You sir fit this example :neener:

Your aiding your "country" by hiding in the shore battery hill with a GV when that was an issue, your aiding your "country by helping drop the HQ for inordinate amounts of time just to tick off the other teams/players, your aiding your "country" by grabbing bases NOE and capping them in a turn fighting buff.
K and other players like him aid the "Communitty" by helping players learn, and fit in with out all the frustration that can come with the steep learning curve this game has. That is what makes players like him more valued than players like you, even if they ARE NOT PLAYING THE GAME.

Troll a.k.a. Trolls, Trolling, Don't Feed the Trolls, The Dark Tetrad
Online it originally meant the act of posting a message in a newsgroup (and later on a blog) that is obviously exaggerating something on a particular topic, hoping to trick a newbie into posting a follow-up article that points out the mistake.
