type in .help in the game for a list of commands
While generally helpful, it doesn't help much with this topic as .help just returns ".dt object name" ;)
Instead of posting yet another link, I think I will put up an object reference sheet, I'll try to make one you can add to your clipboard maps... stay tuned :old:

I am again very much surprised how much knowledge you have acquired through the years.
Thank you very much for your efforts to keep the knowledge available!
:salute
Looking forward to a ( printable? ) version!

OK, here it is, version 1.0
(It's not comprehensive, there are a number of CV guns missing, but if you really need to know "Armored Auto Gun" you can look it up in game in the Arena Setup / Objects/ Destroy Objects menu.)
(All objects that are shown as "influenced by" are also resupplyable by players.)
How to get it on your clipboard: Save the picture, convert it to .bmp, drop it into the Hitech Creations\Aces High\maps folder, then rightclick on clipboard, select "clipboard maps" and add the new map.
Tip:
Instead of .dt f(number)(objname), strategic (country) objects are queried with .dt c(countrynumber)(objname)
However, the country numbers are not consistent as they are depending on the position the country currently has on the map. You can quickly look up the current country numbers for the .dt command in Arena Setup/Objects/Destroy Objects, and then select the country you'd like to know the number of.
Hope that helps! :rock
EDIT:
Crap, forgot the town flag :bhead
It's flg, if you get a number in return it's white

excellent Lusche, thank you

. Question I have is why can two rockets kill ord if each rocket is 60 lbs.. The other this is that it is better to take 250 lb bombs in a bomber to hit the strats.
-
Very nice, thank you! :salute
-
Question I have is why can two rockets kill ord if each rocket is 60 lbs
Because 60lbs is their weight, not their damage rating. They actually do almost 190lbs of damage. Bombs smaller than 1000lbs do more damage per weight as well, and bombs over 1000lbs do less.
.. The other this is that it is better to take 250 lb bombs in a bomber to hit the strats.
Generally not, unless your target is the City. Factory buildings are far more spread out than towns, so 250lbs bombs with their reduced damage radius are not very effective. Take 500lbs and bigger for the factories.
It's a different matter for the City though. The high damage requirement and huge size of a single city block make big bombs very inefficient (everything above 1k is a total waste in particular), while a single drop of a 250lbs bomb (in formation) will drop one city block each.

Thanks for that nice chart very handy. :salute

Bumped for players who asked for the clipboard map above.

Thank you, very handy <S>

Lusche, you are by far and away my favorite gastropod. Your stuff never fails to be useful. I had a text post with similar info bookmarked, but this is way better. Kudos.

I see now how to figure out the country #.
I still can't get the .dt thing to work.
Can someone please give an example? Country 1, v12 vh hangers.
Thanks

If it's a single digit field, leading 0 is required.
.dt f02vhh
Looking at the post again, I just noticed you can actually do a .dt for the flag? Getting a bit into the realm of satellite communications and MFD's, aren't we? Should we just cut the middleman and put all this info on the clipboard so people can at a glance see what's porked, what's white flagged, and what hangars are down/up?
Wiley.

Thanks. So you don't have to type in the county #?

You do if you are checking HQ. Such as : .dt c0(then country #1,2 or 3)hqt. If it has a time, that is the downtime.

Thank you so much for posting this list...It is like a secret in the MA and when someone did try to explain it ....I never really understood...now if I can only get it on my clipboard...to whoever posted they wanted a printable version...right click on pic w mouse and you should be able to save as or print the page as I did

...It is like a secret in the MA and when someone did try to explain it ....
The problem is not that many people in the MA know how to use most .dt commands.
-
Is there anyone who can take the above dt command sheet and format it 512x512 256 color bitmap file so that it may be copied to clip board .I have tried,I know it should be easy with the photo software I have, but I haven't had any luck with it for some reason.. ..if you cannot post it here please email it to me.Thanks in advance. I think the empty space of plane #89 is the RV8 when it is enabled.
Also, another way to figure out what the country number is:
Bring up the war status on the clipboard map and select a base next to the HQ of the country you want to know the number of. When the stats are displayed for that base, the zone number at the top is also the country number of that HQ's country.
-
Over a year ago, I put together some maps of bases and towns marking object locations and their .dt (downtime) code numbers. I also have a compiled .dt code sheet. If you are interested, you can PM me your e-mail address and I'll e-mail you the maps and code sheet as soon as I can.

These are really well done. 1ijac does good work. :aok
I printed out his maps and put them in a notebook with tabs like "Small Field", "Port" and .dt commands.

That makes no sense,if a city building takes 844lbs to destroy it what could would 3 250lbs do? Seems you would need bigger bombs for city.Seems it would be the opposite and would be better off dropping 500lbs bombs or bigger for city.

Different size bomb damage is calculated differently. It's down a bit in this thread, but there's a table there.
http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,378788.0.html (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,378788.0.html)
A 1000 lb bomb is the baseline. Smaller bombs are calculated as proportionately larger damage. Larger size bombs do proportionately less damage. It kind of makes sense if you consider that 2x500lb bombs will have two blast circles, twice the casing to fly around and do damage, etc.

There two commands, when your training I can't find anywhere, that I used in AH2. I'm hoping they're still available, and someone can turn me on to them.
Dive bombing/Attack:
The command displays a crosshair, that moves to show, where your bomb/rocket will land, in your configuration at any time.
Shooting from AAA/Wirb/Osti:
The other has a crosshair showing, where to lead your weapon to hit the designated target.

This sitll works in the training arena, all you have to do is select bombs and it appears.
-
Thanks Zoney.
I used the bomb/attack "offline practice mode"" so I had GVs to hit.
The "online training arena "using AAA/Wirb/Osti, and squaddies would be my target :bolt:
Can we use a .dt command offline for Bomb/attack like in AH2?
-
I'm sorry, I do not know sir.

Are you looking for the cross hairs that would show where the bomb will hit?
If so, open clipboard. Go to Options > Arena Setup > Environment > Arena Settings > Flight Mode Flags
Among the choices in Flight Mode Flags are the Dive Bomb Sight and the Lead Computing Gunsight.
-
Thanks Mongoose.
1 down, 1 to go.

he gave you both, dive bombing and lead computing.
-
Yes he did, my bad.
Just tried it out, and it works as advertized.
I'd like to thank everyone for their input.
I'm now in a  place.

These images are no longer functional.

Lusche is the best. Lots of good info here. I used to have a handy-dandy graphic I got years ago, but through the years, I learned the useful ones, remembered those, and then as computer changes goes, lost the graphic. Lusche's reply is fantastic! :old: :old: :old: :old: :old: :old:

So what is the dt command to move to another base ??
-
.dt are specific to downtimes for objects.
.move # will move you to the specified base.
.goto gameID will move you to the specified player's base if it is friendly.
-
One of my favorite commands is .sf # for "Show Field". Open the map, the open the text buffer, type ".sf 25" <enter>, and this will put base #25 in the middle of the map. I can take a look at what is happening around that field before double clicking on the field to move to it.

My stick should be here Friday and I'll be ready to fly and get shot up soon thereafter. I used to know dot commands like the back of my hand but don't anymore. Anyone know where I can download a printable of them? Something I could pin to a wall or tape to the side of cat would be preferable. I see the list in HTML here on the site and I see many of the helpful "Help" sites that used to have cool help stuff are no longer online. I was hoping there'd be something quick and easy to download and print.
Thanks

I put together an "Aces Help Page" that has a lot of bits and pieces of info for the game. The dot commands list is there.
