guys i do not cheat. i don't even know how to post pictures or make an avatar. i am relatively new to this game. why when i shoot a enemy down i get accused of warping or cheating?. yet when the enemy shoots me down no problem there. most times its a few pings and i am dead. sorry if i do warp. i live in alaska for the billionth time. just a poor old eskimo trying to have fun like you guys. playing cartoons insteada watching them. to the 2 guys who accused me of cheating, i do not cheat. i wouldn't even know how to program a cheat. although i may have seen cheaters i will never be one. <S> god be with you guys and family during holidays.

Cheat accusations come from ignorance or lack of skill, or heaven forbid both. HTC polices this game heavily on this issue more so than any other online game that I have ever played. By the way, thank you HTC for keeping it clear of trash. :aok

It doesn't matter where you play,I played once AH in a internet cafe on a Ferryboat from Trieste Italy to Patras Greece and the Connection was good.
In the Beginn I played with 56k Modem :aok very Stabile
The Most problem is the PC
-The Provider (explorer must be open to have internet) AOL....
-Mal ore Spyware,like every 10 sec they send,pic freezes for a sec
-to many running programs look at clock down right corner how many open
-2 ore more Antivirusprogramms running
-second firewall,1st is from Windows
-from the game: Disable other skins if you re connection is pure
And Look at Waffle`s Video settings that Helps too
...There are currently no cheaters in AH available :bolt:

Here is what I do ... shut them up quick. Tell them you will bet one year subscription to AH... All they have to do is send in the video to skuzzy.I tell them if i get banned Ill pay for one year if i dont get banned you pay for one year.

I say HTC should make a special arena just for you and JoeBlack. That way the two greatest warpers can fight each other. It would be like King Kong vs. Godzilla.
Having said that, no you don't cheat. Neither does JoeBlack; you guys are just cursed with bad connections.

I don't think it's arping. You have a wicked opening merge, in an F4U anyway. One second you're comming at them and by the time you're past you've hauled it around and are on their 6.

Getting accused of cheating in this game is a badge of honor and really says a lot about the person's attitude and skill level of the accuser. You were on the other night when Pluto called me a cheater for shooting down his Hurricane IIc. Even after I explained to him how I used his speed against him to gain the advantage and angle for the kill, he still insisted I was cheating and gaming the game. As I told him, by accusing someone of cheating because you get shot down is just basically telling everyone that you suck and can't face the reality of your suckage so you accuse the other guy of cheating. It's just the human mind's way of protecting a bruised ego.

99.999% of the time when someone calls you a cheater it's just their way of trying to convince themselves that there is no way they could possibly get killed by YOU! They don't want to face the fact that maybe...just maybe they SUCK. It's more about them then it is you so I wouldn't worry about it. :cheers: :salute

Now I have never been called a cheater yet that I know of. But I have been known as a HO tard, Ram tard, Alt Monkey, Run baby, and every other insult that you can be called in Aces High. Answer: And your point is? Some are just having fun, others trying to get in your head and then those who don't like it because you don't fight their fight. Ignore it, have fun with it or tune them out. Enjoy the game the way you like to play it.

I have one of my squad members that plays on a sat connection and yes he does warp! There's nothing he can do about it especially when there is heavy cloud cover! I can tell you that it is as bad for him as it is for his opponent! When I encounter a warping opponent I will just break off my attack and engage another target! If it's the only one I will either land or leave! :neener:

a) I nevered accused you of cheating, believe me, your not on that level.
b) your connection was wicked horrible, Ive fought you before and waxed the floor with your face.(yes.. this means p38 vs la7 or whatever crapcraft you decide to fly). This afternoon, your connection was beyond bad. I have seen you solid before.. I was simply telling you your plane was making shots that werent there. 2.0-2.5k shots with 50 cal causing me to explode.. sorry.. been here too long.
c) if youd like to see the film I was talking about.. just ask... ;)

One is from being an uber stick, the other is from having a bad connection, and the third is being an average to above-average-but-not-uber-stick with an inconsistent connection. I'm afraid that you fall into category three. Don't confuse what akak is talking about with what happens with you. If you get your connection sorted and you still get accused of cheating, then congrats. Until then, swallow the tough pill called Reality - ppl will not respect you until you respect them by logging when you have a terrible connection and only fight and pwn them when your connection is steady.

For someone with such a crappy connection, Greens does pretty well in the rankings. I don't quite understand that part. Seems to me a poor connection would = poor game play. :headscratch:

Greens, you need to get your connection sorted out or stop playing. Continuing like you do is selfish and abusive to everyone else who plays. This isn't a matter of sour grapes or "OMGWTF how did u kill me u cheater?!?!?", it's a matter of not being able to play the game the way it's intended to be played, i.e., with some remote resemblance to the laws of physics as they are approximated in the flight model. It's extremely annoying even if it doesn't help you at all.
The last time I ran into your hyperspace act you didn't kill me, I just got tired of trying to fight Nightcrawler from the X-Men and exited the fight after being on your six (more or less) for several minutes but unable to get a shot in because your "flight path" was outside the bounds of Einsteinian space-time - and it was ten times more annoying than getting killed by a better pilot who pulled a trick I don't know how to do. I filmed it (which is how I knew it was you), but I deleted the film shortly after as it became plain to me that (1) you warp like that often and are not, in fact, cheating, and (2) you don't have the slightest concern for the trouble you cause everyone else.

Greens i've seen your minio warps today. They nothing compared to others. I Get called a cheat 2 to 3 times a week. Its a badge of honor,when they can't see they were ones making mistakes and died all they got is you cheat or your shady because it makes thier little brains feel better about thier lack of skill. hell i got one guy comes in arena every day not to fly but to say i'm shady he has films but when asked send film htc please he logs. So your not only one you won't be last its common in here. If he acusses you of cheating screen shot or send film HTC let them sort it out. :)

Actually, neither JOKER or I accused him of cheating.. this thread seems to have drifted into tard-zone. I think I'd average two-three kills more per sortie if I was flying around backwards and guys didnt know I was shooting at them..
Based of the really childish comments after telling him on ch200, im not suprised he came to the BBS and twisted things this way. At what point does flying sideways and backwards, having bullets register from 3k count as good? You guys are easy to impress. ;)

I sympathize with greens but sometimes it just sucks to fight him. This film is from a few months back, surprised it still works. Fight is very short, we were just getting started and bang, I'm dead. But on my FE he isn't even close to a shot.

yeah. His pony got my 262 the other night. Knew he was up there at 15k and knew he was coming down, started to get clear, looked back and he was far enough out to not be a worry and not catching me and then....tower. Very irritating and has nothing to do with being better than average.

Greens you obviously warp sometimes, there is evidence of it in this thread and multiple eye witnesses from the bulk of the player base seeing you warp and shoot them from impossible angles. It's almost like you are out of sync with the rest of the game by at least 1000ms where as most others are in the realm of 200ms. There's no denying this, if you can't fix your connection fine, but don't try to play it off like you don't warp all over the place when you obviously do.

Lol it's fine that he warps a little from time to time, but he refuses to acknowledge that he warps which is really amusing.

i played on satelite and it really isnt all that fair. other planes suspend in midair while u move continuously. u shoot them while suspended then zoom off they register the pings regardless of where u are located at that given time. Ya its your 14.95 but its also the other guys 14.95 that just got hosed. Personally think you should hang it up till u can get a better connection.

I'm ditching my cable and getting satelite. That sounds awesome.

I'm waay too lazy to read this whole thread, but with some Satellite connections (such as mine) I don't see people warp, unless it's them or my ping is above 2500. As with mine I'm about 1.5 seconds behind everyone else, but from me end it looks like I am on par with everyone, it's very confusing. It makes it so I can pull shots that shouldn't be possible, then other days I'm steady as possible....it's a strange beast. Then there are people who warp ridiculously and are just...well I'll stop myself there.
I'm sure if us Satellite users could get Cable we would, but as with most of us, we're in the middle of freakin' nowhere, heck the price of cable alone is tempting! Around here: Cable 45-60$ Satellite 65-85$ /month

Yeah but u apologize and log or try to adjust. Big difference in that and what greens does which is claim uber and rally ppl aournd him. It is also different than JoeBlack who is full of self-justification and tells you that Skuzzy says you have to live with it.

Dial-up really shouldn't be that big of an issue. I fought greens a few times the other night, and he was warping for me too. Nothing major, but very noticeable.
I had dial-up until about a year ago. I "tuned" my system a bit for it, and honestly, I see/saw zero difference when I switched to my "high-speed" set-up (I don't remember what it's called... DSL maybe? It's still through the phone company, I have router, and my wife can use the internet without being hooked up via cord. I have a new cord that plugs me in...)
My dial-up connection was 28K, but I could never get a decent connection to the game unless it connected at 24K. If I dialed-up and it said 26K, I disconnected and tried again...
I'm fairly confident that with some tuning, greens could play just fine with his dial-up too. IIRC, Data Compression did horrid things for me, and it was "on" by default. Just turning that off (in two places) solved 95% of my warping issues. I also set my computer up to run the game on a partition, and only had the absolute minimum running in the background for that. That helped immensely too.
I live on an old farm in the boonies. Old, crappy phone lines, held up by derelict poles. There's more cow-crap on my street than blacktop some days. Tuning your system makes a huge difference.

Wasting your breath.
A few months back Greens had a thread here about his connection (he has had several) and the offer was made to help him "tweak" his dial up and make his warps go away.
I asked him to start a post in tech support and I was going to help him.
Dial up is super easy to "tweak" and if done right is just as or more stable than a high speed connection. I too flew on a 28k dial up a few years back and it was actually smoother than the DSL I was using previously.(after I tweaked it) Heck, it was a dial up using a 40+yr old phone system at a hotel I was staying at running through a switch board.
Amazing what a few changed settings and a custom modem string will do for a dial up connection.
Did greens ever make that post in support to get the help?
Of course not.

If he fixed his warping he would get far less kills and die super quick. (all in all he really is a terrible pilot)

If it's a matter of tuning his system connections, all he needs is a mouse, a connection, and access to the internet. The information is available, the fixes are pretty easy, and all he needs to do is ask...
Heck, most, if not all the information he needs is already here in the Forums.

On my old computer, when I hit the transmit key. My plane did a nice little jig, usually followed by a swandive. Sometimes that was more interesting than actually shooting planes. I encourage fellow red guys to try this. Just nose down full speed, and don't touch the controls for 10 seconds. :D
Only advantage I ever had lagging was hitting the ground first!

Its cool.. I will start running file sharing and other programs as I log in. If the guy can have a better connection, and chooses not to, without consequence.. well.. watch ;)
This thread brought out some real winners, Agent.. maybe you should have read the entire thread. Funny how you will go against anything I say, even if its for the wrong party, in spite. I guess when you get clubbed enough you get salty.. poor form.

Wow thats pretty sad actually. Bj229r has dial up, not sure of his connection speed, but seems rock solid. No he's not in Alaska. But he is buried in the mountains of West Virginia or Virginia. Personally if I warpped as bad as some of these guys, it would drive me crazy.

Have you exhausted all technical options to improve your connection? Did you post a thread in technical support? If you are neglecting a reasonable solution then you are choosing to warp.

apparently i cheated the other day. I shot down baba and Zuum (163 and 262) while flying B17s. Apparently being able to aim at a con coming dead 6 on B17s is cheating now?

I live in between a crik and a mountain, I played on dial up for about a year and half. I had no problems at all and hardly ever warped and really solid. Started playing on sat. about 5-6 months ago. It is not as stable as the dial up but it actually isn't that bad. I get an occasional warp from opponents but only on bad days.Either weather or what, is when it actually gets bad.
