This is terrible news about a long established player who was also very skilled.
Im very sorry to hear this.
-
Worked with him when I was on his team. Quiet and soft spoken. Really nice guy and deadly in a tank. I will miss him as a person and a competitor. I heard it was covid related, pneumonia. Prayers for him and his :cry
Perhaps instead of a memorial flight, I offer up a tank parade. I think he would like that. All teams meet in tank town or similar and do a huge circle parade around the town. After three circles, everyone start shooting, he would
-
Was a great guy. A help when your with him and a deadly shot when he wasnt. Many 's the evening I spent tanking with him although never with his skill. A truer gentleman Ive never met.

I'm truly saddened to hear of David's passing. He was a fierce competitor or ally. I have countless fond memories from many years past and I'll remember his laughter and the enjoyment he got from Aces High. Salute to you my friend.

Very sorry to read this sad news. Dr7 was a fixture in this game; it won't be the same without him.
Condolences to his friends and family.

I knew dr7 personally. He was a great individual who had suffered the loss of his wife and one of his sons in recent years. We shared several of life's more difficult events together.
With over 1 year of treating people for this damn disease, I had hoped that medical experience and treatments would benefit him and he would beat the COVID-19 . But, unfortunately, not so.
I am deeply saddened by his loss. I have lost a friend. The AH community has lost a formable competitor.
I learned most of what I know about GVing from dr7. I really enjoyed being a Rook and spawn camping with him. I frequently would look for where dr7 was, as I entered the game because that is where the GV action would be.
My sincere condolences to his son Brian and the rest of his family. <S> :salute Rest in peace my friend.

:salute DR7, may you rest in the Masters bosom, till we meet again. Prayers for the family and friends, know we grieve with you. :pray

RIP Sir :salute
Yes a GV legend. I am not a GVer and on the very rare times that I would, as soon as I got killed by DR7, it was back to planes and bombs.

I am truly saddened to hear this, just heard it on country chat in disbelief had to head over to the forums and here we are. Truly truly saddened. He was a foe for years, i would hear of him camping and decided one day to stalk him with p38s trying to prevent him landing kills. An interesting cat and mouse game. Then he switched sides one day and we were on the same team and helping him get kills and salutes. Then back to being to having him as a nemesis after I switched countries.
A very highly respectable guy <S>
Will definitely miss DR7 :(

:salute
You will be missed by all of us Dr7.

Took the M18 out with my thoughts of Dr tonight. A player I will miss a great deal.
Seems like Snailman posted some time back that Dr7 had the most total kills of all time. As great achievement as that is, his greatest achievement was the wonderful person he was everyday.
Very sad day in Aces High.
My best thoughts to his family.

I would like to add something, but words fail me.

Snail posted that DR7 was the first player to 200000 kills. I ran his numbers last night and he was over 400000 kills. You can see his top 10 and final k/d numbers here

One of the best to ever play the game, and a nice guy to boot.

One of the best to ever play the game, and a nice guy to boot.
That is the legacy of DR7 and this gaming community too.
Much of the Internet gaming community is riddled with psychopathic trolls. By contrast, in AH we are filled with so many really good folks.

DR7 was the kind of player the game hopes for. Outstanding player who fought his battles on the field, not on 200. He will be missed. :salute :pray

<S> DR7 I've seen him on here ever since i started playing way back when, always a gentleman.
I wish you suppose blue skies and tail winds brother :salute
-
Condolences to all who were close to him!
I never interacted much with him directly, but anybody who was around as much and as long as he was and has everyone able to say they never once saw him show his backside is definitely a class act.
And you can't not know the handle just from the kill feed. He was the best at what he did ingame.

Started a post for the memorial. For both DR7 and another for Shrike. Offered up an idea based in part on what you said. Actually, Oldmax6 came up with the concept. I think it would be a nice and appropriate tribute. But it is only a suggestion. As an opponent DR7 was a force that changed the battle. As an ally, he was kind and helpful. Regardless of how we honor him.. :salute

DR and myself spent countless amounts of hours sitting in some random spawn telling jokes, laughing and killing some poor SOB that dared to spawn in. Damn good, calm cool guy. He will be missed.

I just happened to pop onto the forum after a bit of an absence and saw this. Most of the time with these type of posts I've only vaguely heard the name or seen it pop up in the buffer with some kills but DR7 was always a pain in the butt since I can remember playing Aces High.
Him with his uber spawn camping, laser sighted tank and I can remember so many times when he would shoot me from out of nowhere and I would get so cranky along with everyone else that he killed. It was always "Damn DR7's at the spawn again! Lets get him!" lol
As much as he pissed me off from time to time he was always there and I have to say he has provided me with one of my favorite memories in Aces High.
I think it was on the south side of the Baltic map back in AH1 or 2 and I had spawned in a tank and of course you know what happened. There was DR7 camping away and ping, one shot and I died. Tried to come back a couple more times getting angrier each time he shot me in the ass. So finally I get smart and come back with a JU-87 with the big bomb but only manage to track him but after another attempt or so I finally made a perfect drop in an F4U and bomb his silly butt back to the tower and MAN DID THAT FEEL GOOD!!! LOL
So thank you DR7 for a memory that I've carried with me for years and I hope that you have found a good spawn to camp in the afterlife sir. :salute

Just dropped in to see what was going on here and good grief what is this. I have been playing here off and on since 2009. During that whole time span, one thing I could always count on was that there was going to be one hell of a tank battle where ever dr7 was. He seemed to always be on somewhere in a gv. This is a great loss to Aces High. Played with him and against him. A good friend and a deadly foe. For a while we called each other "cuz" short for cousin, in cross country chat. I will miss him next winter when I return. :salute My friend dr7.

That is AWESOME! FANTASTIC!
Now look, DR7 was a feared adversary. He loved the game and what little time I ever talked to him, he loved anything to do with remote control and aircraft. But, this many people came out to pay respects! This is fantastic.
God Speed Dr7 and say hello to General Yeager and Bob Hoover for me.

Man I still miss this guy. Pouted for a week. I spent a couple of hours with him one night just chatting while camping a slow spawn. Talked about his wife being sick and general stuff. He is the reason I went to the rooks occasionally just to chat him up. He was not the same after his wife died so I hope he is very happy now. He was in the very front of the nice guy line. Thanks for the tribute video - I was out of town. That was great.

Hello, tunes here ....
I just want to say there was never a player like DR7.
I have been involved with the LCA for some 15 years.
There was never a player that could stop the steam roller.
Base takers that we were in our prime. Then DR7.
How one man in a vehicle could stop four Lancaster's.
And the rest of the Squadron. Was just not to be believed.
I am here to say ... <S> .. to one of the best. That could ever be.
DR7 RIP.
The LCA. tunes and the tunettes .

Wow! I'm so sorry to hear this.
Truly a great loss for the community.
RIP and may God bless!

Friends,
After seeing all these comments, that helps me want to continue to fly in the game.
I wish I could have flown in Dr7's observance. But, this game, it has a depth of faith and respect that is much more true to life when losing a friend, whether in combat or after combat.
Among other reasons and this, I will never "give up" on this game or me as a player, even if I'm the jokes to be joked about.
After all, I can't count..... please don't pull the stats, how many times I ran up against DR7 (different gameid), that I lost. But, I kept going, and DR7 never waivered.
   :airplane: :airplane: :airplane: :airplane:
That is the spirit of this game. We fight, because we can, we defend, because we can, we attack, because we can and.... even with a map loss, we can LIVE to do it all over again.
<S> to DR7 and <S> to all of you.
Rest in peace DR7.

Just saw this post.
Flew with DR7 for years back in the day! Very classy person, and I'm so sorry for his family and friends for their loss.
Was always fun to log in and chat with him! Always kind, and always there to help!
