Whenever I spawn in an offline staged mission, there is green text "===================" across the center of my screen.
It doesn't appear in normal offline practice. Only Offline Mission. (maybe due to air spawning?)
In the screen shot below it is on the cockpit panel (not VR), but in VR it is going directly across my gun site. (for some reason my attempts at VR screenshot just came out all black.)

I looked tat ct4x4ax mission,
You have an event type text with ======================= in it.
Text events now show on screen instead of in the window.
Use a text invent with nothing in it to clear the events.

Ah. I didn't know that, else I would have recognized it. Lol. I'll fix those.
However, maybe this lowered the river enough to expose an interesting rock.
In VR that was going directly across the gun site. I tried to see if I could move it with the GUI settings but it didn't appear to be configurable.
I like the idea of it, especially for training mission applications, but maybe it needs to be tweaked not to cover the gun site in VR by default and probably needs to be configurable on the GUI setup.
It would certainly interfere with a gunnery lesson in VR. But not only does it obscure the gun site, but the gun site would make it hard to read the text as well.

Its position is supposed to be movable I'll double-check it.

Have you tried moving the sliders in the event window? I did a quick test an mine showed well above the gun sight with the Default Position button.
