Controls and Video were added to the opening clipboard. How about putting Voice there also and calling it Microphone for clarity?

And adding a button called "Test Microphone" where you can click on it, and that takes you to a next screen in the clipboard menu. Button says "Test your microphone" where you click on the button and will record your audio for 5 seconds. Once the 5 seconds is up, it will play back the audio that was recorded so you can know for sure if you are transmitting and have audible audio

And add on the screen the F key transmit button tip to show how to transmit vox in game on the range vox

You can test your vox by just typing your handle in the vox channel.  If you hear yourself, then mic works.

Rather than defaulting to channel 101, have the T key default to a TEST mode -- the player's vox played back to him.  We could then just advise newbs to press the T key and talk instead of trying to instruct them to "press /, then type your gameid in the Channel V box, then press T to hear yourself".  (Don't know anyone that uses channel 101 anyway.)

Once they verify that their vox is working, they can figure out how to change Channel V to something useful.

This would also be useful to veteran players who just want to check their vox when it seems that they are not being heard.
