That is an amazing transition when they were changing places at the drums. That other drummer kept the kick drum going while Steve started on the snare. That's pretty great!
How talented is Stevie Wonder? My gosh. He's got a toejam load of talent

Meh... not being distracted by sight gives him an unfair advantage.

I think some of the most influential in the last 35 years have been:
Jojo Mayer
Bernard Purdie
Stewart Copeland
Simon Phillips
Manu Katché
John Bonham
Ringo Starr
There are so many more!
No Mitch Mitchell...? Formerly of the who, joined Jimi Hendrix
Phil Collins of Genesis (2 other Genesis drummers I can't recall their names)
9th grade visiting Washington DC for a week....these long hair dudes were passing out flyers that read "you really need to try RUSH" ...found out what that meant real quick...next door neighbor was year older than I, had already graduated to double 26" bass drums he was in 10th grade...in senior high... junior high was 7th through 9th... he played Tom Sawyer with a added 3 minute solo in the middle just him and his drums (all 14 + cymbals) in the talent show the next year and got 2nd place
Anyway lots that were really unique and great will never make this thread...
Peter Chris of KISS
Like you posted to many more..

Amazed that no one has mentioned Billy Cobham.
The best I've ever had the pleasure of seeing live on a couple of times.

He is off to a good start. If he finds a good instructor and observes more YouTube videos which may give him more enthusiasm he will do fine. Everyone starts from scratch.

4:33, this kid is great for his age, one of my favorite songs covered by a bunch of 12 year olds.

From my time. 1968 Cream.....Crossroads. Ginger Baker best drummer evah! All around the beat, on top but always dead on. Take the time to listen and watch. Well worth it!
What is special about this group is there were only 3 of them! Lead Guitar (Clapton), Bass (Jack Bruce), and Drums (Ginger Baker.) They never needed more then the three of them because each were very talented in their own right! And, there were no technical advancements at that time to enhance their sound since there has been since the early 70s'. This was live at the Filmore.
After that time I didn't know what or who I was listening to.

I love seeing young people embrace the craft. I've been following this German girl for a number of years. It's just a matter of time before she hooks up with something on an international scale...

Mitch Mitchell played with The Who?? I was completely unaware of this...
The Who was going to sack Doug Sandom and gave them a month's notice and left around April of 64. Mitch was a session drummer at the time. He was the 'session drummer' that bridged the gap of Sandom leaving and Moon coming on board. Moon would join them around May of 64. Moon said that he could play better than 'the session drummer' that they had hired. Like Sandom, no known recordings have ever been released by The Who.

The drummer is Ollie Brown. But yeah, Stevie can do it all.
Also, just a comment for the thread in general. We're seeing drum covers up the you know what and not a mention of Roger Taylor or a host of others. :rofl

Modern era it’s Dave Grohl for me. All time I have to go with Keith Moon.
Moon was like the talented athlete that never quite reached their potential due to injury or for personal reasons. Therefore, it's hard for me to list him as one of the greatest.
Grohl to me is a modern day Phil Collins. A talented drummer, but a better musician.
