Well, looking into it some, found out that it's not possible. Other WWII birds are available for a ride for a few hundred dollars, but not the spitfire.
It was just a suggestion. P51s are available and a few others as well.

Midway if I blew some of my savings I may be able to afford it tomorrow but hitech has done more than enough to enable us to fly the cartoon version.

I was offered a 1 hour ride in a P51D (one that had been converted to a 2-seater) that is in hanger right here in Sioux Falls, SD. After I gasped and said "Sure thing! When!?", my flight instructor (who flew B25's in very late WWII up to right before the Korean War) then calmly said with a smirk said "sure, I'll make a phone call, in the mean time right out a check to so-n-so for $1500." I went :O and said I'll have to wait until Im done paying for flight school. :)

1985, RAF Coltishall, 41 Squadron reunion. In the cockpit of a Battle of Britain survivor and still flying Spit II in 41 Squadron markings. About as close as you can get without winning the lottery. I saw it fly, does that count? :)

sorry to disappoint because it would have been some really amusing stunt to get a guy to fly a Spit16 around the MA for several months and HO the piss out of people and then have him come here and make some posts. :noid
This all started when I let him ride with my spit 8 on a 9 kill sortie destroying guys 1 at a time. I do this several times a day but people just assume I must be vulching somewhere :uhoh
I showed him the true path of fighting the furballer way and he still has a long way to go but one day he may be just as dangerous. :pray
Then he might get a few invite if the muppets don't poach him first :O

You want Hitech to pay for this ride? You shouldn't have opened this can of worms, unless you are just plain stupid or are craving a place with the "FEW" squadron. Just how old are you anyways? Have you any idea how many subscriptions it would take to pay for a ride in a spitfire (if even there any two seat versions in existence)? Please Please tell us that this was just a failure to "Troll"! If ya did that, you just might be able to convince some folks that you aren't one of the dullest stars in the sky.

And I only include Kazaa because the Hitler vid, while not an original concept, was so well done that I decided to bestow the title of Troller Emeritus. The rest of u (minus pervert) just suck. Egad.

I think you guys should go ahead and pick up Midway so you can have the potential of maybe developing some depth in your troll bench. You are running about one deep with Kazaa at this point. And I only include Kazaa because the Hitler vid, while not an original concept, was so well done that I decided to bestow the title of Troller Emeritus. The rest of u (minus pervert) just suck. Egad.

No hate! I've no problem with Bruv or any of his squad (The Few), at all! The OP is either a camp follower or a very dim one. Shawk has had many more tour wins than Bruv but I've seen no thread asking to pay for a free ride in a WWII bird for him or anyone else. I was merely stating that it's either a failed troll from Midway or if not a troll, he must be in need of some serious help. The ones that should get some recognition are the AHtrainers, the skinners, the mapmakers, the soundpack makers. the Special Events makers and helpers, and the PIE chart maker (Lusche), and not the score potatos, the Duelers, the KOTH winners. or the tour winners. The original post was just absurd in the first order.

But, but, but....Sunbat, the line is long for the Few! Why should Midway be bumped to the front? He does everything wrong anyway...when he HO's, he dies, when he flies anything but a Spixteen, he loses..oh wait, he only flies that one...ok, well...he still should have to wait.

Thankfully a few T9s and a T8 in England, so an actual Spitfire ride is much more possible. The T8 is still being restored as are a couple of T9s but I think there are at least 3 if not 4 Spit T9s flying in England, with the Grace Spitfire T9 being the most visible.
Because of my long Spit fanaticism, I'd take the Spit T9 ride first :)

The OP's statement reminds me of what iRacing.com did for the best online sim racer to grace the internets. He was flown out to America so he could test his skills in two real world forumla cars, all expenses paid by iRacing.com.

I think a flight in a Spitfire is a lot more exspensive then a go in a couple of race cars though.
