It's normal to get from TO to 10K, make 180 degree turn, catch Mossie making 400 mph and shoot it down with 1 burst, all in 10 seconds. That was told to me in WB and perhaps same laws of physics apply here as well.

Because you fail to understand energy doesn't make the other guy a cheater.

K4 is an energy generating beast, btw.

Maybe I'm wrong here but it seems to me that if you have an IP 1.2.3.4 and DNS points it to game.server.com that you would just need to update the DNS and point your new IP 2.3.4.5 to game.server.com and everything should work.

thats what should happen yes, but it seems that something didnt propagate properly or over the years HTC made "quick" fixes in the game itself that point to IP addresses instead of a domain name.

I zipped up my terrain folder and added it to the same link I sent earlier. I only flew one frame of MoTA, so I am not sure if I have all the maps if they were different for each frame. If not, maybe someone else can share theirs?

The new problem is the game cannot manually download all the maps, like when you want to change terrain in practice offline mode.

If you go to an arena it will download what is loaded, but not manually. I'm trying to get the maps used in MotA to finish a video of it.

What a headache.

Technical Support / Fix for Fresh Install Blank/White Screen at First Startup

Due a connection upgrade at HTC, IPs have changed, a fresh install/reinstall cannot acquire a needed file.

The file download below is the 'stdshape.res' file (1.9gb in size) which is generated after installing and first startup of the game.

It is assumed this will be necessary until the GUI is updated, or the old IP within the game is redirected to the new IP on the server.

If you have a copy of this file you won't need to download this one.

Go to this link and download the 'stdshape.res' file. Place it in the Hitech Creations\Aces High III directory with the .exe files.

If you plan on doing a new or fresh install be sure to make copies of the 'stdshape.res' file, and Maps, Settings and Skins folders.

I think,... take that with a grain of salt...all easy fixes for web based stuff is done.

HOWEVER, I think the game GUI MUST be updated with the new IP.,. just guessing, speculation due to the fix for new installs. It was looking for an needed file/update and could not reach that server. The GUI is probably hard wired with the old IP.. I can't manually DL maps either.....so mu weak conclusion is, it has to be updated.

it would be great if an update was the reason for these changes. Don't worry, I'm blue in the face too.
