So it's been 50 years since Jimi Hendrix passed away, or did he just go to another level of consciousness...
Angel was a song he did that I used in college to get me up for exams. And really just to see if a YouTube will display correctly with different browser

But then, I'm probably more in line with the status quo Hendrix fan. I do wonder where he'd be if he were alive today. I do that with a lot of 'dead before their time' stars.

To be honest... does not sound like Hendrix... My favs from Hendrix are (at the risk of revealing my age) "Hey Joe" and "all along the Watch Tower"

Yep. On old 'Avast Secure Browser' and Firefox it doesn't display correctly, maybe on my end, has to be. The version I remember must have been the studio track as it's different that what I posted. I had picked that one as I must have been reminiscing about old times at Stony Brook on Long Island NY. Having Quicksilver Messenger Service 'Happy Trails' come up on YouTube this morning put me in the way-back machine.
On a side note, I have a sticky fan in the computer and had a side off for cooling this summer and I noticed that when I bang on my Tama's the fan likes to spin a lot better.

Looks like it was filmed yesterday, not 50 years ago.
That reminds me of a dream I had once where my Father and I were in the front row of a Hendrix concert and he was playing Voodoo Child.

I've been a Hendrix fan since I got my own record player. I really enjoyed the video of "Voodoo Child" from Maui. It had very good sound and video for the era.
I enjoy the staples like "The Wind Cries Mary", "Angel", "Cross Town Traffic","Hey Joe", etc. My favorite album is the New Years (69-70) recording with the Band of Gypsies, next would be "Cry of Love", two albums not normally talked about when you talk about Hendrix, but probably his best work when you talk about his artistry.
