Title: "line" in game
Post by: Sled on December 14, 2005, 08:21:08 PM
This has happened before, and it was my Vert. sync. being set to "application preference". I turned my V-sync to "ON" and it went away.

for awhile.

Now it is back, and I have made no changes to my system.

It is a "spilt" in my screen, it is only in game, it is about 1/3 of the way down from the top of the screen. It is only noticeable when you move your views (look around) or maneuver my plane rapidly. If I don't move (or maneuver slowly) you don't see it (all looks normal).

Game play is good, FPS are great, but it is very annoying! Thank god it is not in the middle of the screen.

Asus A8V deluxe
AMD 64 3200+ (Venice)
Geforce 6800 OC (drivers about 3 months old) 81.85

Most settings are default
AA - 4X
AF - off
V-sync - on

Ideas any body? Anyone else notice this problem?

Restarted my Comp. and it went away.

Hmmmm. that means it is probably not game related, right?

Problem with Vid Card? Drivers?

could be something with your monitor....a setting in your monitor or the monitor is going bad. May be only noticable in game cause the game may put more of a strain on it....just an idea

Make sure the right monitor is shown in the display properties and not just the generic 'Plug N Play' monitor.  Having the incorrect INF file loaded for a monitor can cause damage, over time, to the monitor.

Hum, not sure what you mean by a "split", but another thing you may want to check is to see if your video card is seated correctly in the port.
Could be jarred loose enough if the cord has ever been bumped or tripped over
