I'm not usually a big fan of these types of movies, but this quote made me chuckle when I saw the movie and reminded me that there are no atheists in foxholes:
13th Warrior before the final battle:
Merciful Allah, I have squandered my days with plans of many things. This was not among them. But at this moment, I beg only to live the next few minutes well. For all we ought to have thought, and have not thought; all we ought to have said, and have not said; all we ought to have done, and have not done; I pray thee God for forgiveness.
Scene prior to the quote above:
Lo there do I see my father. Lo there do I see my mother and my sisters and my brothers. Lo there do I see the line of my people, back to the beginning. Lo, they do call to me, they bid me take my place among them, in the Halls of Valhalla, where the brave may live...forever.
And for the alt fairies:
The All-Father wove the skein of your life a long time ago. Go and hide in a hole if you wish, but you won't live one instant longer. Your fate is fixed. Fear profits a man nothing.
Which movie quote do you think about when you're rolling down the runway?

Sons of Porkers! Of Bacon! My brothers. I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of Swine fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of the pack, but it is not this day. An hour of red icon guys and shattered planes when the Age of Pigs comes crashing down, but it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear in this good game, I bid you stand, Pigs On The Wing!

Two come to mind, the first comes from the end song on black hawk down, The minstrel boy to the war has gone in the ranks of bravery you will find him ,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3HUW7xvVXuM :salute
Next is from act of valor
"Live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart.
Trouble no one about his religion.
Respect others in their views and demand that they respect yours.
Love your life, perfect your life, beautify all things in your life.
Seek to make your life long and of service to your people.
Prepare a noble death song for the day when you go over the great divide.
Always give a word or sign of salute when meeting or passing a friend,
or even a stranger, if in a lonely place.
Show respect to all people, but grovel to none.
When you rise in the morning, give thanks for the light,
for your life, for your strength.
Give thanks for your food and for the joy of living.
If you see no reason to give thanks, the fault lies in yourself.
Abuse no one and no thing, for abuse turns the wise ones to fools
and robs the spirit of its vision.
When your time comes to die,
be not like those whose hearts are filled with fear of death,
so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time
to live their lives over again in a different way.
Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home." -

"We Few, We lucky Few, we band of brothers. For he who today sheds his blood with me, shall be my brother."

My standard quote when rolling in an FSO is, 'We are all going to die.'
Once you accept and expect that, anything better that happens to you is gravy. :)

Crom, I have never prayed to you before. I have no tongue for it. No one, not even you, will remember if we were good men or bad. Why we fought, or why we died. All that matters is that two stood against many. That's what's important! Valor pleases you, Crom... so grant me one request. Grant me revenge! And if you do not listen, then to HELL with you!
-
Not a movie quote, but in my head sometimes, The Ride of the Valkyries plays as my wheels come up on take off.
-
Not a movie quote, but I will read or listen to "The charge of the light brigade" poem.
-
"We don't need a Big Wing, Leigh-Mallory, or a small one. What we need is pilots." ("Battle of Britain").
or
"...every gunner with a penchant for a runny nose, you get him; If there's a Bombadier who can't hit his plate with his fork, or a Navigator who can't find the Men's room, you get him , because that's where you rate...and one more thing: I want you to paint "Leper Colony" on the side of your plane..are we clear?"
("12 O'Clock High")
-
The only hope you have is to accept the fact that you're already dead. The sooner you accept that, the sooner you'll be able to function as a soldier is supposed to function: without mercy, without compassion, without remorse. All war depends upon it.
-Captain Ronald Spiers
I think of this quote when diving through a horde in a 262 and compress and auger.

Kid Shelleen: "What's wrong with my eyes?"

Kid Shelleen: "You ought to see them from my side."

"Y'all got on this boat for different reasons, but y'all come to the same place. So now I'm asking more of you than I have before. Maybe all. Sure as I know anything, I know this - they will try again. Maybe on another world, maybe on this very ground swept clean. A year from now, ten? They'll swing back to the belief that they can make people... better. And I do not hold to that. So no more runnin'. I aim to misbehave."

"One of these days you are going to look up and see the sky black with American bombers. A solid overcast of them. That's a promise, from me to you. And don't ever forget that I told you."
(Frank Savage to Jesse Bishop, "Twelve O'Clock High." The book, not the film)
And depending on how I'm feeling:
"Tho' much is taken, much abides; and though
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield."

Two of my favorite quotes... Both from Serenity
Hell, I'll kill a man in a fair fight... or if I think he's gonna start a fair fight, or if he bothers me, or if there's a woman, or if I'm gettin' paid - mostly only when I'm gettin' paid. But these Reavers... last ten years they show up like the bogeyman from stories. Eating people alive? Where's that get fun?
and
Shiny. Let's be bad guys

Rumack: Can you fly this plane, and land it?
Ted Striker: Surely you can't be serious.

Be seated! Ah... Many of you are wondering what's wrong with my pants, well they started running short on materials right before they got to the knees so don't give me any s#*t. Ah. I look out there on all you wonderful guys and I say to myself "What I wouldn't give to be 20 years younger... and a woman". You know, I've personally flown over 194 missions and I was shot down on every one. Come to think of it, I've never landed a plane in my life.

"Ooh, we're afraid to go with you Bluto, we might get in trouble." Well just kiss my *** from now on! Not me! I'm not gonna take this. Wormer, he's a dead man! Marmalard, dead! Niedermeyer...
Otter: Dead! Bluto's right. Psychotic... but absolutely right. We gotta take these bastards. Now we could do it with conventional weapons, but that could take years and cost millions of lives. No, I think we have to go all out. I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part!
Bluto: We're just the guys to do it.
D-Day: [stands up] Yeah, I agree. Let's go get 'em.
Boon: Let's do it.

We go to liberate, not to conquer.
We will not fly our flags in their country
We are entering Iraq to free a people and the only flag which will be flown in that ancient land is their own.
Show respect for them.
There are some who are alive at this moment who will not be alive shortly.
Those who do not wish to go on that journey, we will not send.
As for the others, I expect you to rock their world.
Wipe them out if that is what they choose.
But if you are ferocious in battle remember to be magnanimous in victory.
Iraq is steeped in history.
It is the site of the Garden of Eden, of the Great Flood and the birthplace of Abraham.
Tread lightly there.
You will see things that no man could pay to see
-- and you will have to go a long way to find a more decent, generous and upright people than the Iraqis.
You will be embarrassed by their hospitality even though they have nothing.
Don't treat them as refugees for they are in their own country.
Their children will be poor, in years to come they will know that the light of liberation in their lives was brought by you.
If there are casualties of war then remember that when they woke up and got dressed in the morning they did not plan to die this day.
Allow them dignity in death.
Bury them properly and mark their graves.
It is my foremost intention to bring every single one of you out alive.
But there may be people among us who will not see the end of this campaign.
We will put them in their sleeping bags and send them back.
There will be no time for sorrow.
The enemy should be in no doubt that we are his nemesis and that we are bringing about his rightful destruction.
There are many regional commanders who have stains on their souls and they are stoking the fires of hell for Saddam.
He and his forces will be destroyed by this coalition for what they have done.
As they die they will know their deeds have brought them to this place. Show them no pity.
It is a big step to take another human life.
It is not to be done lightly.
I know of men who have taken life needlessly in other conflicts.
I can assure you they live with the mark of Cain upon them.
If someone surrenders to you then remember they have that right in international law and ensure that one day they go home to their family.
The ones who wish to fight, well, we aim to please.
If you harm the regiment or its history by over-enthusiasm in killing or in cowardice, know it is your family who will suffer.
You will be shunned unless your conduct is of the highest -- for your deeds will follow you down through history.
We will bring shame on neither our uniform or our nation.
(On Saddam's chemical and biological weapons.)
It is not a question of if, it's a question of when.
We know he has already devolved the decision to lower commanders, and that means he has already taken the decision himself.
If we survive the first strike we will survive the attack.
As for ourselves, let's bring everyone home and leave Iraq a better place for us having been there.
Our business now is north.

I adapted this from "Ronin", Let's get out there and hurt some feelings! What Ronnin actually said when asked if he ever killed anyone before, "I hurt someone's feelings once."

Just heard a couple of good ones watching "The Untouchables".
"Take it easy. lt'll all happen in time. This is the job. Don't wait for it to happen, don't even want it to happen. Just watch what does happen."
AND
"Surprise is half the battle? Many things are half the battle, losing is half the battle. Let's think about what is all the battle. Let's take the fight to them, gentlemen!"

5. Patton (1970) “That’s All”
This remarkable film is a semi-biographical tale of General George S. Patton Jr., a real-life tank commander in World War II. On the eve of the battle in North Africa, General Patton, played by legendary actor George C. Scott, addresses his troops against a backdrop of stars and strips. A young Francis Ford Coppla and Edmund H. North, penned this remarkable, unforgettable story of a true warrior without the satisfaction of victory. “…that’s why Americans have never lost or will never lose a war, because the very thought of losing is hateful to American…..” Patton won 7 Oscars, including the Best Actor Award. Ironically enough, Scott actually refused to accept the honor, leaving the producer, Frank McCarthy, to accept the award at the ceremony on Scott’s behalf, where he later returned it to the Academy the following day.
4. Braveheart (1995) “We Free Men”
Mel Gibson’s contribution to the genre can also be considered one of the greatest moments in modern cinema. Braveheart tells of the plight of Scotland’s patriot, Sir William Wallace, who led a rebellious, spirited military campaign against England. Gibson, who took on dual roles as director and lead actor, delivers an awe-inspiring monologue just on the heels of battle. This epic tale, penned by Randall Wallace, won 20 awards, including 5 Oscars.”…..Fight and you may die. Run and you will live, at least awhile. And dying in your bed many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that, for one chance to come back here as young men, and tell our enemies that they make take our lives, but they will never take our freedom.”
3. 300 (2006) “Take the Brave 300 to Victory”
Director and co-writer, Zack Snyder (Kurt Johnstad and Michael B. Gordon) helmed this real-life tale of the great battle at Thermopylae in 480 B.C. With video game-like effects and clever cinematography, 300 takes creative license in telling the story of the brave Spartan soldiers who fought off a massive Persian army for seven days. “…We are at war, gentlemen. We must send the entire Spartan army to aid our king in the preservation of not just ourselves, but of our children. Send the army for the preservation of liberty. Send it for justice. Send it for law and order. Send it for reason. But most importantly, send our army for hope - hope that a king and his men have not been wasted to the pages of history - that their courage bonds us together, that we are made stronger by their actions, and that your choices today reflect their bravery….”
2. Matrix: Reloaded (2003) “We are Zion and We Are Not Afraid”
Matrix: Reloaded is the second installment of the three-part franchise by the Wachowski brothers. In this sequel, the crew of the Nebenkenzer has successfully enlightened thousands since the awakening of Neo. Meanwhile, the machines have begun to step-up their efforts in their plan to oppress individuality and the human spirit. On the eve of the great battle to preserve humanity, Morpheus ( played by Lawrence Fishburne) addresses the free men and women of Zion, calling for courage and not fear. “….Remember that for one hundred years we have fought these machines! Remember that for one-hundred years they have sent their armies to destroy us and after a century of war. Remember that which matters most! We are still here! Tonight let us send a message to that army! Let us shake this cave! Tonight let us tremble these walls of earth, steel and stone! Let us be heard from red core to black sky! Tonight let us make them remember this is Zion and we are not afraid!”
1. Independence Day (1996) “We Will Not Go Quietly Into the Night”
Often overlooked, Independence Day takes top billing for the most inspiring, heartfelt patriotic battle cry in modern cinema. Written by Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich, this formula Sci-fi action flick delivers a pure dramatic moment as the world prepares to do battle with aliens’ intent on annihilating mankind. Actor Bill Pullman’s wholesome delivery evokes a sense of patriotism, honor and state pride. “….Perhaps it’s fate that today is the Fourth of July, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom… Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution… but from annihilation. We are fighting for our right to live. To exist. And should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day the world declared in one voice: “We will not go quietly into the night!” We will not vanish without a fight! We’re going to live on! We’re going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day!”

"I get no respect"
or
"Yep, I'm flying through the air. This is not good."

Considering my skill level, or lack of it, back when I was still flying....this scene comes to mind:
Viper: Good morning, gentlemen, the temperature is 110 degrees.
Wolfman: Holy toejam, it's Viper!
Goose: Viper's up here, great... oh toejam...
Maverick: Great, he's probably saying, "Holy toejam, it's Maverick and Goose."
Goose: Yeah, I'm sure he's saying that.
It always seemed like every pilot on my 6 was channeling Viper.

You guys are getting to deep.
I just listen to "muskrat love" by "captain and tennille" and am instantly ready to kill all I see.
I exit kill mode by playing "safety dance" or all within my immediate vicinity are in danger.
