How would I switch from Pacific to European tiles. Also how can I save to tiles to make some custom ones.
-
in your terrains root folder create a text file named defset.txt
in that file put the number 1
nothing else.
as for the tile textures. just. click on one and select the save textures button

Thank you sir, and what about the low detail terrain tile?
-
Sorry for the late reply.
The tiles are made/edited in the object editor. the default tiles are located in the ...\ahstandard\tertile directory.
I would suggest making a backup of the default ones before editing them.
Anyway load the one you want up in the object editor, make the changes you want.
Then under the file menu select "build". Your new tile will them be built and placed in the "newshps" folder
Copy the .shp file to your terrains texsrc folder then open the terrain in the terrain editor and you should see your new tile.

I did that and when I go offline then turn off the detailed terrain it still shows green.
-
OK perhaps a little better explanation of what you are trying to achieve will help me to give you a better answer.
:salute

Okay the top is with the detailed terrain turned on. The bottom is with it turned off. I would like to have the bottom one white instead of green. I'm looking for the file to edit the low detail terrain if there is one. Or if I'm just screwing something up in the OBJ editor.

In the TE: Settings, Terrain Type Settings
Select the type and click the Change Selected Color button.
You'll see R,G,B sliders.
Rock On.
Oh, and if you want to be really evil, set both water and ground to black, or white I guess in this case.

I now feel like an idiot. I was just messing with that the other day wondering what it did. Thank you very much sir.

np. You're doing it right. It sucks when guys turn off detailed terrain to see the winter tank camo.
-
Yeah that and the skins. But I'm going to see if some of the Skinners want to make some historical stalingrad winter skins that I can put in the terrain that will stop people from turning off skins.

I'm sure you guys know about how to change the lo-res textures in the TE....right? That way people still keep white ground in winter, sand colors in deserts, etc. That way people can't get out of snow or desert colors even if they turn all their graphics off. If not, let me know.

Yep, that's a better explanation for what we are talking about.

Oops. I'd missed where you'd already answered. :o
