Title: Reverb G-2
Post by: Papaw on June 26, 2023, 02:26:49 PM
I just purchased the G2. I have been offline for a couple of months fighting with the Oculus Quest 2. I have successfully programmed the Controls (mostly) but the information in the Window regarding data for Auto Pilot on or G's for instance shows blank. The heading is there but no data. Ideas would be appreciated.

Now I have another issue... When trying to log back in. It will not let me. It keeps asking me for my game name and when I put it in... tells me its taken and I cannot get to another screen. I was thinking perhaps my credit information has changed but that is not it. Sorry, I would like to play the game again but it is quite frustrating.... down for a couple of moths now.

Papaw can you post a screenshot of the problem you are having with the "Window" - I'm not sure what you are referring to; it may be simpler just to see it.

As far as logging in, you login with your account name, not your game name, it it should make no difference whether you are using VR or not.

Finally, game tech support/admin support may be very slow right now.  Hitech is recovering from heart surgery so it might take some time to get things resolved.  If you are anxious to get in, you might consider just creating a new account and picking a new handle.

Yeah I'm not following you either on the window thing. I have a G2 and it's running the game ok. Give us some more info.

I think it had something to do with Steam. I am sorry to hear of HiTech... God Bless with a quick recovery. I'll work it out .... maybe. Can't get online with the VR now anyway. Thank you for the response.

Hey yaknow there's a different SteamVR for the G2? You need WMR for SteamVR.

Get that here:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/719950/Windows_Mixed_Reality_for_SteamVR/ (https://store.steampowered.com/app/719950/Windows_Mixed_Reality_for_SteamVR/)

It's the same thing--only just for WMR headsets like the G2.

Still scratching my head about this window you speak of.

0/10. This headset is awful IMO, UI is impossible and it mess’s with icon and chat settings on default. Go for the oculus quest 2, more user friendly and better peripherals.

I've been using the G2 for a year and love it. What settings are you talking about. I'm having no problems at all.

Text buffer is no longer visible, and the cursor doesn't not line up when trying to navigate the UI. Issue only started when I tried the Reverb and it has continued once I switched back to the Oculus. very frustrating.

As for the buffer, just go into the GUI tab in the clipboard and put it back where you want it. I've had that happen but I don't think that's a G2 thing. Not getting what you mean by the cursor doesn't line up.

Look straight up for the text buffer

That's where I've usually found it. Might have to do it twice for the expanded buffer too.

Is there a way to move the text buffer to a more convenient position?

You can grab the text box at the corner with the mouse cursor and relocate it..

But when it disappears it usually goes straight overhead again..

That is where the request for someone to join you pops up too

I’ve tried that and can’t get it to move.  Must be operator technique.

It might be that the clipboard has to be up to be able to move these windows...

I normally have the clipboard up and have tried to move them with no success.

Tried the right click yesterday.  It wouldn’t move at all.

Have you updated to the latest nVidia GeForce drivers?   I'm on version  537.42 but I know there are more recent drivers available.

Did a clean install a couple of days ago.  Will double check for something newer.  Thanks!

Update:  Just updated with latest driver 551.23 (24 Jan 2024).  Did a quick check in AH.  FRs back up to 80-90 on the runway.  Short flight around the pattern and everything was solid, no screen stuttering, FRs dropped down close to trees and buildings but, came back up to high 80s when looking up away from the ground.  This is the norm I experienced before the recent FR dump.   Encouraged but, the jury’s out until after a couple hours of play.  Hopefully, this is that one simple thing………
