My favorite memory of any fight i ever had happened in when i had been in AH maybe 6 months or so. I didn't get a kill and i didn't get killed. It was a pretty sloppy dog fight by all accounts,, but each of us shot each other up pretty good for ten minutes or so. Neither of us could land a death shot, and it finally ended when we were both i'm pretty sure out of ammo, at least i was. Bingo ammo, low on fuel, we turned away from each other and headed home.
Friends in the area asked if they should let him go or finish him off, they stayed out of our fight and let us have at it. I told them no,, let him go,,, was a good fight,, at least to us it was.
I never learned who it was, so i was glad he landed it. would have been a shame to learn his name at that point. But, i know there is at least one other that remembers that fight.
to live or die in this game isn't the point,, having fun learning to fight is the point.
I would not tell anyone how to have fun, but i'm pretty sure no one comes to Ace's High to be anything other then a fighter pilot. the planes are free,, you get unlimited lives, sure the learning curve is steep, very steep,, you'll get killed more times then you kill, but you learn from every engagement there are trainers to help you out,AND you will have fun, forget the score, don't worry about it, b4 long you will be a monster to deal with, just keep at it. have fun,, be the fighter pilot you came here to be.
and hey,, if GV's and bombers are what gets you going,, have at it...just go fight... the fight is the thing... what gets you to the thing,,that's up to you.
Just don't forget,, fighter pilots get the girls

I had a similar fight myself, in MidWar, some years ago. My heart beats faster just thinking about it.
If you come across a 1 v 1, ask on range, before jumping in.

AH2 first one was 1v1 Grizz and I 109g6’s. He had me sattled and missed 1 shot and I pulled a insane reversal for the kill and ended up throwing a 20mm into his cockpit for the win.
Second. I got booted from the few in 2011, I was trolling tank town in a k4 and a spit16 and I engaged after a few min and me landing a tater, it ended up being my homie bruv. I couldn’t do it again but I got a lot of satisfaction from it lol

Fought an AH vet long ago not long after the 38G and Spit XVI were in game. He jumped me in his 16 and it was a knock down drag out knife fight from probably 15k to the water. I finally got him to slip out front after a series of scissors and blew his wing off with a snap shot. The hands were shaking after that one.
I was playing enough that I wasn't useless as a cartoon pilot. I think he was surprised that a 38G flown half decent could hang with a Spit 16

Over the years there have been so many treetop level, full flaps, flat scissors, heart stopping fights that I can't pick out any one, nor any one most memorable opponent of all the excellent people I've met.
But there was this one time, back in the early days of AvA...
We had a desert terrain, and I was flying a 202. A squadron of people we'd never seen (...well...I had never seen them, at least) thought it would be fun to attack our base while flying P-40s. Historical, you know, which is what the AvA is all about. They caught me out by myself, low after taking off, and piled on.
Within a very short time it became evident that they did not have much experience flying P-40s. (The MA will do that to you.) P-40s were exploding all over the desert around me. Not because of my blazing WWI armament, you understand. I was busy enough dodging the demolition derby. They were just very eager, very clumsy, and very low.
When the guns fell silent and the only motor running was mine, I had some proxy kills. Seven of them. Landed them, too, just so people would think I was an animal with a 202.
That reputation didn't survive long, but hey, it was a memorable night.

My memorable flight was more than 10+ years ago.
I was JB27 back in the Jabostaffel squad. JB42 suggested we take a flight of TA152's on a gamble of a large dar bar in enemy territory coming our way.
About 10-12 TA152's from the JB's squad we intercepted, oh about 6-8 sets of B17's, and destroyed them. :joystick:
I have many memorable flights since then but that one always stood out in my memory. :old:

Do you remember the time you and I entered in King of the Hill - both you and I ended up the last two alive in our Hurricane I's? That. Was. Fun. And our frequent flying them in the CT/AvA helped our rise to the top to win?
Both of us just doing kill after kill after kill and then when we looked around, we were the only two left aloft after you downed the last remaining Hurri. I don't remember who won, but it reminded me like we were back to back killing zombie's with an ax, we then suddenly realized we were the only two left alive with airplane parts flying around everywhere. That was an awesome night. (It helped we had both our convergences set to 200 for all 8 .303'.s)

My fav fight was me in a spit16 or maybe 14? against 40 guys killed 20 of them with 1 bullet its a technique few know of. For one trick I actually went into a high speed dive with maybe 13 guys on my tail at the last second I just stopped the plane mid air and pulled up looking behind me I watched as those 13 guys augered or snapped their wings off TALK ABOUT SATISIFACTION!! hey! I put up such a fight the rest bailed out in fear PROXY CITY! For the next 5 minutes or so range was a deafening chorus of applause I landed all 40 kills and never played again. :cool:

one night im flying around in the AVA. it was an Africa or Italy setup. I forget now.
im flying along in my BF109E and I see this P40. cant remember what model.
anyhow I go after him. well he spots me and sets himself up for it.
we both bob and weave and fire and bob and weave some more and fire some more.
all the while we're both losing altitude and and running out of bullets.
he extends and then pulls hard to come around, I counter, hard losing altitude and sight of
him for a few seconds. oh! theres he is and its back on! he's still slowing down, so am I!
shooting and turning, now we're dropping flaps! im trying to get him to torque roll, he's
doing the same to me. we both are flittering over the ground, trying to keep the planes flying.
sweat pouring from my forehead, hand cramping up from pulling on the joy stick!
crap hes coming around harder, I pull harder, plane starts to stall, I recover,
hes right there! he flitters struggling to maintain the aircraft and starts to stall,
nice!! I think I got the edge, no dammit, plane is stalling!! straighten out plane,
crap hes got my tail again. guns firing, then stop, HA, hes out of ammo, ill get you now my pretty!!
pull hard drop more flap fire again...nothing! crap, no more bullets!! arm is killing me sweat is pouring!!
only inches above the ground. I say screw it, im going home, I watch him turn! he goes the other way
hands hurt fingers hurt, arm hurts, check clock.....15 minute dogfight! no winner. I type in the buffer:

I had alot of Fun fights But the Few that Stand out for me are Oldman and LTCap1 in the Ava and the Fight AKAK and I had when we met while I was in the 109 ol death and his 38 ol death.

my favorite fight was back in aw days. I had been in a few flights and always got killed. but this time I was high and saw this airplane below me I dove in firing all the way until I crashed into the ground. took me several flights to figure out I had been firing at my shadow but the sob wouldnt die.
