Title: Titanic Tuesday Redux
Post by: fudgums on March 26, 2024, 11:30:33 AM
Titanic Tuesday Redux -

Smaller Maps - Say 4x4 Sectors(Maybe smaller idk). 4 Bases for Each Side. If a side wins, then the map resets.

Over time, have multiple maps of the same concept.

Go back to normal map rotation for the other 6 days.

Is this something a CM could set up?

We've been needing this as a FTP arena for a long time. Somewhere fun to just hop in a fight without the time to fight and score of the MA.

naw he wants everyone to use the same arena.  numbers would probably go down if forced.

Smaller map with more action would force numbers down?

gvers may not like it,  bomber pilots may not like it,  regular folks may not like the endless furballs, base takers may not like it.

what you want is force people to fight in furball lake for a day.

The horror!!

It's called variety..something the majority of us believe this game needs

I think semp would argue over the color of the sky if you let him..

Says the guy who does nothing but fly a fighter and in most cases a 109. You cant talk about "variety" and not practice it yourself.

Id bet the vast majority of players enjoy playing the game as a "win the war" game. A very small minority are hard core "fighter jocks".

Maybe the game would be more fun for you if you tried GVs and bombers?   :D

Where did I say that?

Going after a base with greater numbers not equal a better experience?

I get plenty of fun as a "hard core fighter jock" from the game as is win or lose  :joystick:

I am for trying anything that might not need any new coding

But I  am for the map to regulate game play in the name of variety as the map will change soon enough ..

There is "work" for this to happen. Stopping a map in the middle of the war wasnt very popular back in the day when we had the "Blue" and "Orange" main arenas. HTC would have to do that same thing again. The coad should be there. I dont think this would be any different than then except stopping a "single" arena to start a smaller single arena to swap it back again 24 hours later. The players working the big map are more than likely going to be ticked off that they basically have to start over on the smaller map, as well as restarting when the big map restarts too. It seems to me that all you'll be doing is ticking off the majority of the players on purpose twice a week.

If your looking to get the action into a smaller area then it is much easier to just remove the big maps. Sure your going to take a hit on the "variety" by lessing the number of maps, but you should get the closer action your looking for.

Ideas like these have to be looked at from the position of "the big picture" Making a change so 10 players are happier only to tick off 60 players isnt a good suggestion.

It's a pointless discussion,  therapy at best

Enjoy your day!

I don't see it as changing the game but making it more challenging for all aspects.

Also believe your ratio of 10:60 is definitely off. Each their own. *shrug

It was M0ar better when it was the single late war arena before the split.
