I don't know about if anyone else thought if this but it sounds kinda fun.
It would be 2 people(They get to pick their partner), we would have a large ladder of doubles. Kinda like KOTH except you can make up your rules, only rules that are SET is Co-Alt, Same plane, Merge clean. Besides that anything goes.

Saurkrat (<-- spelling ), used to host a singles dueling ladder & a 2 vs 2 dueling ladder for a good spell, and people stayed consistent in keeping up with it, until he had RL step in and he could not keep it going.....
TW9, offered to pick it up, but then I think he got shipped out to overseas duty ( IIRC ).......
I think forhim, was going to bring it back but things didn't work out...
