including some of the other participants in Great War:

Austria: Aviatik D.I http://www.theaerodrome.com/aircraft/austrhun/aviatik_di.php
Russia: Sikorsky Ilya Mourometz V http://www.theaerodrome.com/aircraft/russia/sim_v.php

France: Nieuport 17 http://www.theaerodrome.com/aircraft/france/nieuport_17.php

Trying to figure out why we'd need the Sikorsky, 4 engined bomber with no ordnance or targets.
I think the last thing I'd want is yet another landgrab arena. :neener:
-
Perk the Ansaldo A.1 :rock
Looks like a good list. I am loving the WW1 arena, its been a blast and I can see myself flying in it even when the novelty wears off.

Halberstadt C series (maybe C.V?)- German 2-seater to go with the Brisfit.
Nieuport 17- French light and nimble dogfighter
SPAD VII or XIII- French speed-demon
Albatros D.III- Because its the Albatros D.III :)

IMO, considering that these planes take time and rescourses to make there's not much sense in deviating into other theatres or time frames of the war. It makes much more sense, for now, to concentrate the efforts to the latter half of the war in the western front. That way the planeset gets fleshed out faster for special events and makes the default WWI arenas more uniform. So in that light my choises would be:
Albatros D.Va
Halberstadt CL.II or CL.IV (There are many other German two-seaters to pick from, too)
SE5a
SPAD XIII
-
SPAD XIII
Oh come on, you just KNOW you want the SPAD XII with the 37mm Hotchkiss gun.
:D
-
HE-111 :airplane:
-
Ansaldo A.1 Balilla-Yes
Aviatik D.I-Yes
Sikorsky Ilya Mourometz V-NO Bombers!
Nieuport 17-Yes
-
Remember the thread long time ago for hot air baloon duels? Sounds like this arena would make a good home for them.
-
I see Shuffler is late... :noid

has to be done :aok

With blunderbusses, as in 'Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines' - great idea!
My choice of types for three of the next four WW1 aircraft: SE5a, RE8 and FE2b for the RFC/RAF. And let the Huns have the Albatros D.III or D.V so I can laugh when an Albatros lower wing fails in torsion at high speed, just as in real life.

Yes. No to the OP's.

3. Arico D.H 2 British
4. Fokker E.III German

I'd only add the 1916-16 a/c if we ever get a rolling planeset. Would be a totally useless against the later rides- too slow, too unmaneuverable, and too fragile.
-
And I just want the D.Va so we can skin this one. :)

While I really do want to see the earlier stuff like the Airco and the Nieuport, heck, all the way back to the Eindecker... I have to agree with Wmaker's idea. Flesh out the late war, then bring in the earlier stuff. Albatros D.Va, Spad XIII, since we've got the D VII, maybe the Sopwith Snipe for parity?
Not sure what my fourth would be.
Wiley.

Ill speak for shuffler 'see rule #4' lol
Albatross DVa
Albatross DIII
SE5A
SPAD XIII

Oh burn!!!!
Perhaps he realized the error of his ways?....
Nah... Probably not...

M-18 :joystick:

Yep of all the WWI planes the Albatros D Va was the best looking bird of the war. I would love to see it in the game along with the Fokker D VIII. I think only about 400 VIIIs got built before the end of the war.
-
Two of them MUST be-

and

D Va and SE5 would be awesome.
-
I don't think we'll see very many WWI aircraft, there aren't enough American ones to add...
:devil

I like this list :aok Maybe with the SE5 replacing the Halberstadt :aok

Nah... Probably not...
Lol. Because if it doesnt involve turnin and burnin on the deck with a P38, its no fun.
-
I believe we need to following:
Albatros D.III
SPAD S.XIII
Nieuport 17
Nieuport 28
but I would much rather see HTC work on WWII :bolt:
-
Fokker D.VIII/E.V - non-perk for the E.V, but the wing comes off, perk the D.VIII with the more reliable wing! :lol
Spad XIII
Nieuport 28
Sopwith Pup
Sieman Schuckert D.III/IV
If they open the arena to anything other than DA-style play, Halberstadt CL.II, Caproni, Gotha, etc...
-
Ill speak for shuffler 'see rule #4' lol
Albatross DVa
Albatross DIII
SE5A
SPAD XIII
I like this list :aok
-
Close, but if I had to pick the most significant mid-late war fighters, I'd say:
Albatros DIII & DV
SE5A
Spad VII & XIII
Nieuport 17&28
Perkies would have to go to these:
Sopwith Dolphin and Snipe
Fokker DVIII
Siemens-Schuckert D IV
Junkers CL1
It'd be good to also see:
Nieuport 11 and 28
Sopwith Pup, 1 1/2 Strutter, Triplane
Hanriot H.D.1
Pfalz DIII
R.E. 8
Hanover CLIII
Halberstadt CL Series
Rumpler C Series
Siemens-Schuckert D. III
Bombers:
Gotha G. 5
Handley-Page 0/400
That's get us a good late-war set, with more added later for early war (though, arguably, the Nieuport Bebe is a little out of place here).
Oh, screw it. They should just add 'em all - and ALL the WWII birds, too - every single flocking one of 'em.
-
you could've picked a better bomber but here are some of my ideas:
Albatros D.III or D.V or both
SE5a(THE early RAF dogfighter)
Spad VII or XIII or both
aw man I forgot the last on I was gonna post!
