Hi guys.
I just came back from a 1 year hiatus from the game and have been pleasantly surprised by the changes in the game (the much improved AH2, graphics, etc) I've been feelin the hunger lately for some historical stuff and was wanting to check out the CT. But there's rarely anybody in there. What's the deal?
Back when pyro started the CT a couple of years ago, I was fortunate enough to be on the staff. We'd have at least 20-30 in there on nights US time. There was a couple of allied vs. axis setups I had where we had 60-70 in there for a short span.
Who are the CT staff nowadays and what are we doing to promote it? What gives dewdz?

A question we've all been trying to answer. The introduction of AH2 booted out a number of regulars who had equipment that wasn't up to the change. It also drew many to the MA to try out the new flight models &c. AH2 also eliminated virtually all of our maps for quite awhile; they are slowly being upgraded (see the desert map this week, for example). Finally, it appears that many perceived an increase in MA-style behavior (ganging and trash-talking, mostly), which reduced the appeal of the CT for them.
The total result has been to lower numbers to the point at which people who log on simply aren't willing to enter (or stick around in) the CT.
We love suggestions on how to change this.
And welcome back!

Thank you Slash:aok This was great Christmas present:D

Sounds like the stigma of the CT being an empty arena is still strong, and thats hard to change. I dealt with it a lot when I was in there. Herd mentality is hard to combat.
fin-rus? Is that a new map? or a re-skinned old one. Sounds familiar, who made it?
-
It's re-skinned from AH1 map (about 2 years old?), made by Kanttori.

Actually I dont think its anything but the "flavor" of the arena....lots of folks...old & new...have popped in and simply left...some posted in the forum, many didnt...truthfully the overall character of the folks in the arena changed over time (not all obviously but many). Hopefully things will go full cycle over time.

Gotta love the Fin-Rus map! Some of the best dogfights I've seen have been on this map, whether it was AH1 or AH2. I wish we could have it as a winter map again, but I'll live with what we have until we get something better. I know nobody wants to waste time with the TE making maps right now when the new TE is about to release.
Speaking of which, is there a tutorial on how to use the TE? I'd like to try my hand at making one but I have no clue where to start. Thanks!
