Title: P-38L "Geronimo II" 80thFG/459thFS India 1944

An update to one of my older P-38 skins.   This aircraft, a P-38L-1, was delivered in natural metal but olive drab camo over light grey was applied in field.   Pilot unknown, unusual for an aircraft with multiple kills.

The 80th Fighter Group spent its entire active career serving with the Tenth Air Force in India and Burma.    The Group was formed in the United States and formed part of the New York Fighter Wing, I Fighter Command, First Air Force during 1942-43.

Assigned to the China-Burma-India Theater, the Group arrived in India in June 1943. It entered combat in September flying a mix of P-38 Lightnings and P-40 Warhawks. The group concentrated on ground attack duties, first with its P-38s and P-40s and later with the P-47 Thunderbolt. The unit took part in the fighting in northern Burma in 1944 and in the invasion of Burma in 1945. It also helped to defend the Indian end of the "Hump" air supply route to China.

Hope you got a chance to fly it, wasn’t in the game that long before the 3D P-38 models came out.

There should really be a courtesy notification when the 3D modelling starts on the new plane shapes.
The first thing I thought of was this exact skin as soon as I saw the update post.
