Hi HiTech,

As noted online - I was driving a Tiger I and hit a tree branch hard and it stopped me cold. When I tried to back straight out from the point of stop the Tiger was put further inside the tree.

Thanks for fixing the Strat location / colors on the SFMA map - all good now.

Used the in-game updater.
When the installer started to run, Windows declared that the program didn't run properly but I dismissed the dialog and the updater ran fine from what I could tell.

I received this error message after installing the patch, however, it finished installing and the game launched without any trouble.

It doesn't appear any event logs were generated.

Same here. Updated fine, patched fine. At the first run the game started in a slightly off-screen windowed mode where I couldn't move the mouse outside the game area to move or resize the window. Quit the game, the start screen was in a centered window which could be moved. Centered it after some accidental moving and went back online. No major issues after that, the game played full screen as supposed.

I wrote this up using the AvA terrain map but it happens for the sfma terrain map as well.

In this scenario, I quit the AvA arena and see the Melee tab, then quit there to the sign-in clipboard and if I go online again, I briefly see the AvA arena's terrain map on the clipboard before it clears to show the Melee arena tab.
If I quit to the first clipboard screen, 'Online' 'Offline Practice' Choose Terrain' etc then click Online Arenas, I briefly see the same AvA terrain in the clipboard before the login dialog.

So I'm seeing that terrain map twice, between the online option screen and the login, then between the login and seeing the Melee tab.

Sounds only travels so fast.


Also experiencing what Easyscor was. When leaving the arena to turn off Vsync, when going back to the arena selection screen I could see the map.

I seen this also, Its some kind of bug i guess. Guys its the first patches so don't expect things to be so smooth yet. I can't wait until everything is fixed and running.

Two issues just now after patch.  First, lost the mouse curser in flight so can't check settings, preferrences E6B, etc.  Second, in the middle of a fight at low altitude - ground to 5k, suddenly went to desk top.  In a 51, using flaps to turn, but not keyboard, hotas only.  Clicked on game icon on the menu bar and got right back in, right in front of the F4U that shot me down.  Ooops.  Great game.  Frame rates stay solid at 59-60 (my max) low, at altitude, in fights, flak, etc.  Love it.  Only a few settings cut back -- playing well above the default settings.

Got the same Program Compatibility Assistant error as strike but game started and seems to run fine.

Fired on a 110 from a wirble and saw half his left wing fall off but then as he flew off it appeared both wings were complete.

Do not work. Light comes on....no change in Center of Lift due to recovery flaps deploying.

Also, Game with Vsync forces 60hz refresh. If you have a 120hz monitor, it resets your refresh rate to 60.

Patch fix for blackout confirmed as functional!

Just upped 17s flew mission until shot down, then took up another 51.  Mouse curser working just fine in both planes.  'tis a mystery!

The recovery flaps just delay compression in Aces High, they don't cause a pitch up.

Carrier hangar clipboard still to close for me but usable for now. The launch button now works.

When moving in and out of menus I will still get to one where the mapped joystick button don't work and I have to use the mouse.

Today I was trying sink tne nit cv57 from the rook CA56 using
the 8" guns
At first it was a pretty good distance away but I could tell it was getting
closer because it was lit and the fire was getting larger
I saw the fire but never once saw the CV itself

 DX11     This post has to do with alt+tab out of game.    I open a window and leave it open before entering the game.  I click on the shortcut icon for AH3 on desktop.  I enter the game and then alt+tab out to minimize AH3.  If I then close the open window I had before entering the game originally, it immediately throws me back into AH3 without me clicking on the AH3 icon in the task bar.  Once that happens, I can no longer use the alt+tab to minimize AH3.  I can use the alt+tab feature multiple times with no problem if I didn't close the open window before re-entering the game or have one to begin with.

The voice window cannot be moved to the right of the screen. All other windows (chat bar, clipboard, also the movable frames in GUI config) can be moved everywhere fine, but "Voice" is stuck at about column 3324 (of 6048x1200). http://halos.de/~ceh/ah3/1.jpg (http://halos.de/~ceh/ah3/1.jpg)


Radar indicators for off-map aircraft are shown outside of the map. In AH2, if the map was fully zoomed out, the arrows pointing outward were visible inside of the map. In AH3, they are still pointing outwards, but are drawn one sector outside of the map. If the map is fully zoomed out, the arrows are not visible. That's the case at least for planes leaving the map to the north.


Gun ship or field selection on fleets doesn't fit on the screen. See http://halos.de/~ceh/ah3/2.jpg (http://halos.de/~ceh/ah3/2.jpg) at the bottom. Of course, using the view keys everything can be reached, but its a bit inconvenient.
The map icon for "you're here" fits on the map, but is a bit too big for my taste though (its bigger than it was in AH2 at least).

Found a new bug when flying B26's:

Was flying with 3 of us using B26 bombers. I saw one of us with no drones (even though they were formation flight), the other had double drones, and I had my normal drones.

Also - NO WIND AT ALTITUDE!!!???

Wind display circle also does not come up on clipboard when checked on.

pulling up chat buffer still puts you in mouse commander mode... no bueno

****NOTE****

It will not put you into mouse commander mode if you are on auto pilot... if you are free flying, the buffer will engage mouse commander

Selected a tank by mistake quickly clicked on the hanger button and got a screen freeze.  Three fingered it and got the loading terain screen and the loading was say 95%.  Had to shutdown PC and restart to get out.

Further to the B26 drones issue reported earlier...

One of the 3 sets of bombers were shot down in 1 blast from a 190D - 1 plane hit - ALL 3 BOMBERS BLEW UP - and, received damage / parts dropping off my bombers at the same time (not his set but my set and I was 2.5 K away from him).

The bomber damage model is definitely off. It is WAY too easy to kill them now. I know HiTech said it is the same from AH2 but I beg to differ based on what I have experienced / seen in the AH III arenas over the Beta period and most definitely today once again.

Please look into this further - it makes being a bomber pilot now useless which many of us are predominantly bomber pilots.

Today while in cruisers guns I got screen freeze and couldn't exit Ah, I could still talk to the other gunner alt -f4 did not work neither did ctrl-alt- delete
 Latter while chasing 26s at ammo strat same thing 2x
 I shot dwn Elec1 in 26s and it seemed like a normal shot dwn plus I received several hits

ANOTHER BUG:

Upped A50  b17s,  headed  w/sw   climbed out to  11k,   turned  NE,  continued climbout  and  then   cannot type and cannot see what is being typed on  country.   then  cannot  manipulate clipboard.

The only remaining functions are aircraft joystick,  flying,  view,  transmit range/country.

Exept:  i can currently control my b17 F1,F2  etc  keys  and can get into bomber go  go into calibaration.

Somethign goes wrong with seeing what my cursor is doing and unable to see text buffer,  nor  see mouse clicks on the clipboard map

One can alt+tab out to use a browser, calc, or whatever, but you cannot alt+tab back to AH3.  Please fix

I think I have this right.

Opened AHIII and it ran fine.  TrackIR ran fine.  Switched sides in whatever the MA is this night, and it was fine.  Took off in a 202, it was fine, but I didn't like my rear view.  So I alt-tabbed out of AHIII, raised the TrackIR program, switched off the True View box.  AHIII had disappeared; Task Manager couldn't find it, it didn't appear in the Win10 bar on the bottom of the screen, and yet, when I tried to start it again, it refused to start.  Have to reboot my computer and do it all over again.

In fact, this happens whenever I alt-tab out of AHIII, regardless of what I do next.  Wouldn't mind it so much if I could just start AHIII up again, but I have to reboot the whole computer, and I am tired of doing this.

Updated no problem.

Went to the WW1 arena, the Zoom in/out are reversed. The text is correct but the function is reversed.

Also noticed in the B26's, when taking off and flying, the Oil temp for the left engine moves way up into the red, while the right engine does not. Need to check this in the other bombers also.

Offline or Online - DX9 & DX11 - Cannot switch sound sources on the fly like in AH2.

Normally use HDMI for speaker sound on the TV and Xonar DGX sound card for headset when needed. In AH2 it will switch back and forth on the fly by selecting speaker source.

In AH3 that worked 1 time to switch from HDMI to sound card. After that to make the switch must select new speaker source then quit completely out of game, including the opening menu, and start again for switch to take effect.

Tried switching the speaker layout but that had no effect on this issue.

When adjusting the game sounds, lost all engine/gun sound, bail out sound worked. Had to quit to desktop and restart the game.

Also  the clipboard renders over the splash screen for a few seconds when you exit the game.

Receive Ch200 "All" even though it is not selected.

That's Channel 1 "All" you are recieving, which had been disabled in the old (LW) Main Arena and not (yet?) in the AH3 General Melee Arena. Ch 200 is still being filtered if you had not selected it.

unable to see the cv from the sb first I thought it was the sun.  also the piper and cross hairs never aligned.  went int and out of the shore battery and I could never properly fire.

Say your in a turn fight you got 3 notches of flaps deployed and one gets shot off as you pick up speed and they come back in or you pull them in yourself the one that is shot off acts as if its still there and deployed while the other one is pulled and it makes the plane unflyable unless you slow down and get the flaps back to where they was when it was shot off. is this a bug or is this supposed to be that way?

That is the normal game flap damage.

There are 2 flap damage types.

Destroyed and jammed.

On older planes the jammed still shows up as a missing flap.

<Ctrl>D should list the correct type of damage.

I'm getting a dark square in the sky. It seems to be where the top layer of clouds is drawn. Maybe the lighting is off for that layer. IDK. Just thought I'd report it in here.  :airplane:

Also with TrackIR it is possible to move your head outside the P51D cockpit when leaning left or right. The cockpit glass then turns into a grey triangle? Something to look into.

I did some further tests on this. The problems described above pertain to all bombers, I have no regular internal engine sound in any of them, be it multi- or single engined bombers.

Yes, and that caused it.

Just like in AHII, I had turned down the Master Volume to about 20% (no adjustment to any individual sound groups). This did cut out the engine sounds only, and only on all bombers. Playing with that master slider I find a very sudden engine sound cutoff at/near approximately 25% of volume, it goes from still quite loud (ony my system) to none.

With all fighters I tested, the engine sound volume scales much better across the whole range when using the master volume slider.

By the way, when I tried to check this, I could not start DX11 nor DX 9 version of AHIII. The splash screen came up, but never the clipboard. Was able to close the window without problems (no "has stopped responding" or so). I had previously played AH II and did exit that one regularly.
A reboot fixed this problem-

I have experienced the same but I have only tried it in Lancs.   I have "my engine" volume set to 23%.   External (F3)  I hear no engines at all from my planes.

I found that turning engine volume down causes the engine sound to STOP playing abruptly at certain head positions or in certain planes (most notably are bombers).  You can test this by increasing the volume in sound preferences while sitting in the cockpit of Lancasters.
 
Somewhere around 48% it starts to become "buggish".

UPDATE on texture error bug:

Flew a sortie,   rtb,   refueled, took off,   flying and had no control of the clipboard map and the chat buffer was invisible.   Then flying a little bit longer  the game put my pilot (Not my plane)  in the center of the map  all silent  with  nothing to control....

I brought up task manager and  the game was eating up  1 GIG  processor / ram  memory.


Windows 7,  the game is  leaking  memory eating up more of the task manager while you fly .   I think that is the problem.

Restarted AH3,   noted  task manager  at  730,000 memory.

Been flying  for  45 minutes,  and  now task manager  shows at  929,000 memory  and slowly climbing


AH3  doing some kind of memory leak on my PC eating up more resources for no reason.

Chute is not visible on the airfield supplies.  Didn't test vehicle supply chutes.  The supplies do float as if they were attached to a chute.  The animation just is not visible.

Has anyone experienced a blue screen crash when adjusting controls in game?  Maybe its my old x52 setup, I do have it on a powered hub though.  Would the dump info help?  Would need to know where to find it.

The blue screen crash happened three times in a row under the same circumstances, in game clipboard open setting button assignments, btw, the reason I was still adjusting the buttons is that the assignments weren't staying saved.

PS Just flew DX9 with no issues

This version is definitely not ready for prime time.


My PC works great with AH2. TrackIR5 and AH3 is buggy it seems. Launched an F4U with everything working fine.  5 minutes into climbout and TrackIR, still running, quits working with AH3.  In other words, I had no view system - only front view thru the cockpit available.  Had to restart AH3.

Three times today I had a memory error that popped up while i was using the clipboard , it's only happened when interacting with the clipboard .  It shrinks the screen down to about half the resolution and locks my Pc up to where i have to control alt del to end AH3 .  Ill get a screenshot next time of possible , but the memory error says something about it could not write to a certain location in the memory .  Has anyone else seen this?

While in flight,  pulled the plug on the modem,  rebooted computer,   launched ah3   

it acutally said i exceeded 5 minutes flight time,    and no.. i was not away from the network for 5 minutes,   less than that.

afterwards......   I  fly at  700meg task manager memory...  climb a bomber strat run,  things start to go bonkers,  and my task manager shows  AH3  at  900 meg memory.

Looks like this is going to be an ongoing thing of memory leaks?

Had a strange one with buff formations today. Two formations, one Ki67 one G4M. The drones would alternate between the two, so sometimes the Ki would have 2 x ki and 2 g4m drones (and g4m was by itself), and sometimes the g4m would have 2 ki drones and 2 g4m drones (and ki would have none).

Took off for strats at  700megs,     after bombing strats   memory usage was  1 gig.

Definitely a leak.   never had  in the years playing  AH2

IMPORTANT NOTE:    Before  DX11  update... the  beta  was  GOOOD

Something went awry during the DX11 update.   I'm getting serious  memory leak issues,  bugs  while in flight,  etc.


During the 'BETA'  prior to DX11 update,  my PC had  ZERO  issues while inflight.      And after DX11 update?   Nothing but  problems.

Either the game freaks out due to using more than 900 meg memory after 1/2 hour flight time or less,  or  prior to that  makes my  mouse  flip out  forcing it to go  to the left side of screen,     (its all flight time as I was  in tower  afk for about 20 hours without an issue).

Neither never ever happened prior to the DX11 update.  The beta  was  fine.

Update on No Sound in Bombers:

I tried flying Lancasters earlier today and while in flight I noticed the "no engine sound". This happened in particular when I was looking straight forward or straight back. If I changed views to look at a 45 degree angle any direction the sound was on normal.

Molsman and I both confirm that - for us, at least - alt-tab throws us out of the game and requires a re-boot of the computer.

Also, most of the choices on the clipboard do nothing.  Hanger works, as does OClub, but not much more.

Post a dxdiag of your PC if you have not done so. I have none of your issues DX9 or DX11. I can minimize the game and work at the desktop for 30 or 40 minutes, bring it back up and no memory bleeds. All PC's are a tiny bit different and you would be helping Hitech and Skuzzy much more knowing what you PC configuration is.

There has been 4 different players who have posted about a memory leak

Noticed in the B26's that if you initiate WEP (I know b26's don't have WEP) the left engine oil temp gauge jumps into the "red".THe B24's, B-17's,Bostpn II's andthe G4M1.

Also on the B26's the Ords counter in the cockpit flashes off and on.

B25C in formation, 1 drone follows as you would expect, the other however stays in the trees for a long time.

when upping lancs you lose all engine sounds shortly after lift off. the first time it happend right after i hit the wep key at wheels up i thought the wep caused it but nope i tried again with no wep and still lost all engine sounds.

Not sure if it's a bug or planned this way.  Tank rounds within any proximity to foilage detonate the shell prematurely.  Much more than AH2 which required hitting the foilage, not just getting close to it.  It almost acts proximity fused as firing through an obvious visible opening detonates the round.

Also

The new m3/goon base-town resup at 30 minutes seems to only require one base sup to bring a white flag/auto guns down town back to life.  With guns and town bldgs set at 30 minute downtime has really gamed the resupply until a lot of strat damage gets the down timers up.  Can this be set back to the 10minute resup in use now in AH2 ? More than once have gunned down a block of buildings and guns to see them pop back within seconds after they went down. Disconcerting to say the least if you're still in sight range of a gun you just took out.

Does shift f1 thru f4 actually change the object visibility range ?  In AH2 there is a visible change that occurs when you toggle views that don't seem to change in AH3.  Toggling from F1 view to F4 ground view in AH2 you can see far off features change, if that's happening in AH3 i'm not noticing it.

Gotta say the nighttime graphics are awesome and the shellfire/bombing at a distance sounds deja vu close to the real thing on the ground in the jungle.  Almost as if H&I fire is being called in.  Just the right rumble.

Hit sprites nearly impossible to see on my end, but I can see little puffs of smoke and small chunks flying off when the bullets hit. 

Not using tracers, if that is relevant.



Oh, and some crazy, uber-sped up engine sounds in the film viewer.

I am getting video crashes almost every flight. The screen goes black, I can tab out of the game and I see a message from the video icon in my taskbar: "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered." AH3 is now a normal window, solid black. If I click on it the window maximizes but stays black. Judging by the sounds the game is still running fine (I can hear new vox transmissions, for instance) but no video at all. The only way I've managed to recover it is to close the game in task manager and restart it and reenter the arena.

It seems like it happens most often when I am messing with views but there may be exceptions.

The last time I ran the beta (a couple of versions ago) I did not have this problem and I have never seen that error message in any other game or program.

Also, to echo someone else's complaint, your own plane icon on the clipboard map is WAY too big. It obscures too much of the map so you can't see anything else in your vicinity unless you zoom all the way in on the map.

Twice did I take off in a Me 163 Komet to engage enemy bombers, a set of B-29s and a set of He 111.

Both times drones were taking damage when I was actually hitting the lead bomber only. Just like in a similar incident a few versions ago, there was no way I could have landed hits on the drones during my pass. Seems the damage is approximately mirrored, hits in the lead' cockpit hit the drone cockpit (instadeath), hits on the right wing of the lead (removing it) caused engine damage on the same wing of the drones.

Unfortunately, bomber drones still don't show up on film.

Try this, go into C:\Hitech Creations\Aces High III\settings and find the sounds.cfg file.
Rename it as sounds p1.cfg so you can save it for later.
Then go into C:\Hitech Creations\Aces High\settings and find sounds.cfg, that's your AH2 sound settings.
Use Ctrl drag to copy the file to your AH3 settings folder.

It this works for you as it did for me, please attach your ah3 sounds p1.cfg  and your ah2 sounds.cfg files here using the Attachments options below the reply edit window so Hitech can compare the two.

Taking a bomber off from a CV, the bombs don't seem to work (drop the bombs on a ship and they don't explode).  Attack planes taken off from CV, bombs work as expected.

1.  In AH2 selecting squad colors using ctrl-s is fixed, staying that way each time you log in.  IN AH3, Ctrl-s must be pressed every time you log in.  Prefer that it be like AH2.

2.  Using thrustmaster TARGET software for button assignments,  you get an occasional bullet fire or bomb drop or other odd button actuation that seems to be tied to bring up the clipboard, resizing or zooming or clipboard button press using the mouse although not every time.  Using same setting it does not happen in ah2.  Another TARGET user is having same problem.  Will try to pin this down.

I lose engine idle sound in fighters. I turned the engine way down 10% maybe. I think it starts to happen around 25%. Its also kinda random. I did get the idle sound at various times. The engine sound also went away on the IL2 while flying. I couldn't tell if it was when the plane got real slow or if it was just random. If I turn my head in the cockpit the ear towards the engine gets louder than when I am facing it.

Potted plants in the Oclub give it a home like touch.  :)

I am seeing short (0.5 - 1 second) freezes in the graphics.  Not sure if there is a pattern, but seems to happen just as I bank to turn or just as I fire guns.

I went into AHIII, and there was no such file. I copied the sounds.cfg from Aces High II and placed it in the file, but this had no effect. I will try reinstalling the game and see if that works.

If you select "use recorded views" and watch films in external mode, the pitch of the engine goes crazy when you are not looking forward.

Also, the "Full Screen View" button doesn't work.

This happened twice so it should be repeatable.  When arena notice comes up when entering ah3, clicking on close is like alt-tabing out.  When you come back inn the message window closes as it should.

In AHIII, I have to check my mic settings every time I log on.  They are always set way to low.  I simply adjust the sliders to the far right, and I'm good to go.

Shadow bug - P-39 gear doors.  Occurs on both P-39D and P-39Q.  Can't tell whats going on here, maybe the shadow from the doors is being subtracted from the shadow of the wings, cancelling it out completely?

In regards to my prior question about tank shell detonation by foilage.

In watching it yesterday, it appears that any tree that displays an open area as a branch moves thru its arc reserves the open area graphically for the branch to move back in to.  It appears that the what displays as a wide open area you should be able to fire a cannon shell thru, but the shell will detonate no matter how clear the area displays. That could possibly explain why cannon shells explode in what visually appears as a clear spot around a trees foilage.

I'm not next to my pc, but as I recall there are two options. 1 is for realtek, the other is the name of the headset. Neither works.

The aircraft I have heard the sound orientation reversal and 90 degree mute are Brewster, F4F, F4U,Ki84,La7, but the worst

is the 190s. Some planes appear to be "normal" like the 109s. You can hear the sound changes with TrackIR5 or with

the hat switch when changing views. I have not checked all planes, just a small sample of them.

Twice did I take off in a Me 163 Komet to engage enemy bombers, a set of B-29s and a set of He 111.

Both times drones were taking damage when I was actually hitting the lead bomber only. Just like in a similar incident a few versions ago, there was no way I could have landed hits on the drones during my pass. Seems the damage is approximately mirrored, hits in the lead' cockpit hit the drone cockpit (instadeath), hits on the right wing of the lead (removing it) caused engine damage on the same wing of the drones.

Unfortunately, bomber drones still don't show up on film.

Ive been testing and looking for this issue. When you saw the damage was it right after the drone exploded?

I had an issue when i was flying a B26 a few months ago in the beta where a yak killed my lead bomber then the others exploded right after then about a few days ago one of my drones was hit and oiled then the other drone was oiled in the same engine even though the other one was not hit

I am getting video crashes almost every flight. The screen goes black, I can tab out of the game and I see a message from the video icon in my taskbar: "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered."---

You might try updating the video drivers. Running Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) (http://www.wagnardmobile.com/?q=display-driver-uninstaller-ddu-) before the update might be a good idea.

I am seeing short (0.5 - 1 second) freezes in the graphics.  Not sure if there is a pattern, but seems to happen just as I bank to turn or just as I fire guns.

Have you upgraded your video card lately or is that an entirely new build? In the previous case run the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) (http://www.wagnardmobile.com/?q=display-driver-uninstaller-ddu-) in Safe Mode to get rid of all remains of your previous video card and reinstall the drivers.

I took up some Lanc's last night and noticed a few things different.

1.  When in F3 mode there's no engine noise.
2.  The sound changes and sounds more muted when WEP is engaged.

 First, I only saw damage 'transferred from lead to drone(s). When I attacked a He 111 drone first, it went down with any visibly damage to the other ships. After that I removed a wing from the lead (which started to plunge down). After that the remaining drone (now lead) had suddenly oil leak on the same wing. I think that phoney damage only came into existance after the Heinkel pilot bailed from the falling lead, but I can't tell for 100% sure.

In the other cases the lead bombers died to quick to tell exactly the point at which the damage was transferred, and I usually don't have a vis on the bombers when egressing (I do very fast high angle slashing attacks and usually shoot late).

I hope I can do another test this evening (US afternoon)

I can send a couple of films from the fighter pov. Just had killed a B-24 set (top down attack on the lead, looking back I see multiple fires from the lead, then in quick succession the kill messages) and tried to contact the bomber pilot about what happened on his side, but to no avail.

Howdy 2 issues since downloading the pre release version.

1. when first logging on to the MA I have 2 mouse cursors when the MOTD pops open, when I close it the game minimized to the tray. When I re open the game from the tray it acts normal, most of the time but if I sit in the tower for a bit the game freezes.

2. Track IR still keeps the game led lit after closing the game [did not do this in AH2]  not a big deal I just shut the camera off and re start it and all is good.

I am auto downloading skins so I dont know if there is some connection to problem 1 with that. DX diag attached

Another shadow bug - I get weird, triangular-shaped poined shadows pointing inward from the outside edge of the screen.  If I go to external view,  or try to look at them from a different angle they disappear.  Seem to occur no matter what plane I'm in, and its odd they are in front of me while I'm looking INTO the sun....

Taking a bomber off from a CV, the bombs don't seem to work (drop the bombs on a ship and they don't explode).  Attack planes taken off from CV, bombs work as expected.

Things are fine.  The trouble was with me -- the way I was doing the testing.

dx11 version seems to lock up on my system if I play around with time of day (moving it around from 6:00, to 7:00, to 8:00, back to 7:00, etc. while flying around generally with nose pointed at or near sun).

I have done it a couple of times now.

It doesn't completely lock up -- it continues to run, but with system thrashing and at a frame rate of about 1 frame every 30 seconds or so.

I have Windows 7 and a GeForce 750 Ti card with drivers from last month (relatively new, but not the very latest).

While at V65 I noticed a lot of flickering.  Also, it is very difficult to use the 17 pound gun because you cannot scan the area unless you rotate the entire gun.

My frame rates are very very good.  New machine has done wonders :)

The 17's have never had the ability to use the hat switch for views. Not sure why, but it's always been that way.

Thanks, should have though to do that myself.

Updated the drivers and I'm not getting that video card problem but I am still getting some complete freeze-ups of the game. It doesn't seem to be the same problem. It's a lot  less frequent, I played a couple of hours tonight and it happened twice.

When the "Disable Reflection" option is checked, it only stays disabled in the current flight and has to be unchecked and then checked again every flight.

As the number of players rise, the number of low vox volume  to no vox has really gone up.   It was just about a constant complaint going on by numerous players.

When sunrise started there was a giant, blank, rectangle that covered most of the sky.

Every time I log in I get two mouse pointers, the windows pointer and the ah pointer.  When I click on the opening arena message to close the window, I get an alt-tab closing of ah, when I come back the windows pointer is gone.

Last night I had two screen freezes and four lost host.  dx11 version is barely playable with these numbers.

What happened earlier was that the plane slid backwards very quickly -- as if it was not "attached" to the carrier and the carrier just sailed out from under it at 30 knots.

When creating an arena, then exit, the arena is gone, nowhere to be found in any of the tabs. When trying to create a new one, a message comes up saying I have to enter the already created arena and shut it down/reboot it.

Reduce your max texture size, this is accessible from the "video settings" menu available only before you "go online" to start the arena portion of the game.

Another thing about the film viewer, the sliders don't move the view around the plane as they do in AH2.   They do move the view, but very strangely and it makes setting up screen shots very difficult.

It's not a performance issue, as I get 60 fps flying around.  (I'm using default settings except that I have slider set to none and disable shadows and reflection, as those are distracting to me.)  Then, I screw around with the time of day while pointing my nose at or near the sun, changing the time of day from about 6:00 to 7:00 to 8:00 back and forth and in between while moving my nose around and weaving left and right, looking at the sun.  After a while, the sun starts to look a little strange (too much bloom, too much glare off water), and then the game comes to a near halt.  Most people would think it has crashed, but if I wait long enough, I see that I get about one frame every 30 seconds or 1 minute.  It takes a while for me to get out of the game with alt-tab or ctrl-alt-del (have to wait a few minutes -- the first time it happened, I hard powered off my machine to get out of it).

If I restart the game and don't screw around with time of day in this way, it seems to work fine.

This happens in dx11, but it does not seem to happen in dx9 when I do the same testing.

I've switched to flying in dx9 figuring that dx11 on Windows 7 might not be as robust.

Im getting tons of lockups in Dx11,  but 9 seems to be solid so far!

The lockups occur when interacting with the clipboard and or chat buffer.

While mapping controllers for gvs using clipboard,in tower, causes clipboard to lock up. Cursor moves but clicking has no effect at all. Stick presses have no effect either. After Ctrl-Alt-Del 3 times to no effect I get a black screen. Ctrl-alt-del eventually gets me to my desktop background picture with no Icons on screen. I am forced to shut off power to the power supply and cold boot to use pc.

This was after reinstalling the full AH II pre-realese patch 1 today. I had installed pre-release on Friday while going online and had the same problem.

If its already been addressed please disregard. I noticed the turret angle was pretty steep on the T34. I sheepishly admit to landing 7 kills of aircraft Saturday and not one was a nose shot. More like shooting skeet. Which I admit was a skill in my earlier shotgun days, but probably not what the tank was designed for.

To update my previous post...I just tried DX9 version without the same issue as in DX11 version.

My reason for remapping my mode 2 controllers in DX11 was because mode 2 was not transferred correctly but instead had same settings as mode 1. The DX 9 version transferred both mode 1 & mode 2 correctly.

I think this has been posted, but trying to create custom arena caused a lock up.  Three fingered it and restarted AHIII, tried to create arena with no custom arenas showing, got a message I already had a custom arena running and to close it even though none was listed.

Edit.  I waited and tried again.  This time the craterma custom arena was created, but no staged missions were listed even when the show missions for all terrains was checked and of course there are several craterma staged missions on the server that show up in the melee arena when you go to staged missions.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or not but I haven't had it happen before. In the middle of a fight my screen went black and it said "windows could not start this screen saver" or something like that. I recall tabbing out to the desktop and back in not too long before that.

Flying above enemy B 17s I saw 5. The drones each had another B 17 just slightly offset behind and above. When I dove under the B17s I could only see three. Each time I was above I saw 5.

Last night I had two screen freezes and four lost host.  dx11 version is barely playable with these numbers.


Update.  I withdraw this report.  My internet supplier put my system on a watch list to look for problems.  The tech showed me the graph of the connection and he explained there was a problem somewhere in the cable wiring.  They found a shielding ground problem and made a repair.  Last night no screen freezes and no lost connection.  :aok

Got close to a set of red lancs.  Too close as it turned out.  Each of the three bombers had a duplicate image making each bomber look like it was a four wing dragon fly.  I tried to get a screen shot but got shot down.

After getting multiple screen freezes and not being able to alt-tab out did a complete reinstall.  I am unable to set the view for the pilot far enough back to see the instrument panel I have tried field of view from 106°to 152°with no decent result.  Also dialog box is not movable to the right hand screen.  When using ctrl D message window appears in center left screen Zoom togel works intermittently zoom in and out buttons are reversed Any suggestions? :bhead

Cockpit is too dark most of the time. Instruments are hard to read.




Also , engine sound is reversed. Looking forward, the engine sounds like it is behind you. Looking back, it sounds like it's in the tail.

Weird green light in tower and on clipboard is back.  This shot is from just a few minutes ago.

Also the roster is not in alphabetical order and the slider bar doesn't work.

My frame rate kept bouncing back and forth from 20 to 150 today. I haven't seen that before. Moving the sliders seemed to have no effect, I turned everything to absolute minimum and 1k textures and that got it up to 35-40 most of the time.

I am also still getting the occasional game freeze up. I've seen someone else mention this: when I tab out the game no longer appears under applications in task manager, so I tab to processes and close it there.

One thing on the graphics: the haze at sea level is so bad that ships are invisible beyond about 10k. That really needs to be fixed. Also sea mode gunnery doesn't work correctly, the shells don't hit on the zero has of either the gray or the yellow scale. In AH2 in sea mode they'd hit where the zero has on the yellow scale was when you fired.

Another thing about the film viewer, the sliders don't move the view around the plane as they do in AH2.   They do move the view, but very strangely and it makes setting up screen shots very difficult.

I believe the problem happens when you view a film from an enemy plane's perspective, the film viewer directional sliders (and even the keyboard keys) are still connected to film taker's view.

 So, everything works normally from the film taker's view but goes awry when changing planes in the viewer.
