Title: Mission: Last Flight of Isoroku Yamamoto

On April 18, 1943 during the Solomon Islands campaign in the Pacific Theater of World War II. Japanese admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, commander of the Combined Fleet of the Imperial Japanese Navy, was killed on Bougainville Island when his transport bomber aircraft was shot-down by U.S. Army fighter aircraft operating from Henderson Field on Guadalcanal.

Mission: Fly Yamamoto to Ballale airfield--

2 Mitsubishi G4M Bettys of the 205th Kokutai Naval Air unit(ki67 sub)
flight I - carrying Isoroku Yamamoto
flight II - carrying chief of staff, Admiral Ugaki

Escort Yamamoto flights(a6m5b sub)
3 Mitsubishi A6M Zero fighters of the 204th Kokutai NAU Flight I
3 Mitsubishi A6M Zero fighters of the 204th Kokutai NAU Flight II

Mission: Intercept Yamamoto flight to Ballale Airfield--
U.S. Army's 339th Fighter Squadron of the 347th Fighter Group, Thirteenth Air Force,
4 - p38G 339th Fighter Squadron Flight I
4 - p38G 339th Fighter Squadron Flight II
2 - p38G 339th Fighter Squadron Flight III (killer)
4 - p38G 339th Fighter Squadron Flight IV

Requires: avasolm1 map

The map is included with the zip file..

copy avasolm1.res file to ahiiterr directory
copy yamdth.mis file to offmiss directory

After I downloaded this mission I couldn't get the White text instrucitons for other missions....I deleted it and other missions are fine now.

any clues?????

Great mission Soda!  I can't wait until HiTech tweaks the AI a little bit to where they all don't jump from their planes at the first couple of pings  :D  I saved Yamamoto and Ukagi and landed with ammo to spare (at least nine kills).  I really like the feel of this mission though.  :salute

Is there any way to get bombers to shoot back yet? I was able to pop Yamamoto and his buddy with no threat to myself :)

Yes there is but it only works while using it in the ME... as soon as you use the mission in the offline game it CTDs..

Added the ability for bombers to fight back with gunners..
