Just curious. F6F has pretty good rudder, though I would think the F4U has better (that thing is huge).

Not that it has the best rudder control, but check the size of the C-47's rudder. It's huge.

Hmm, tried a B17?

B-17

b17 still has rudder bug

ive seen 109's do instant flips with their rudder, so my vote goes to them.

i dunno about best but 190s are great.
I dont fly the f4 1 basic I hate the way the rudder feels.
109s rudder is good. Especially when some is closing fast from hi 6.
I shove stick to upper right and slam full rudder. they shoot right by. Ofcourse I only do this when i need rtb cause it takes right out of the fight. But you can escape pretty that way.
F6F feels like a 190 rudder......

Don't think it's all about the 109 rudder, thing it's got to do with the general design of the 109, pretty good at not keeping E although in B&Z it zooms good thanks to good climb. Wasn't a very clean aerodynamic design otherwise. The rudder is good too though, nice to tail glide when landing, blow all E very quick :)

B17 it can old knife edge forever...its a great way to bleed off speed and dweebily foil a high fast fighters dive pass

YOu want to fly sideways? Take a F4U-1 up, and do 200 knts., then kick that rudder over....something seems fishy with the -1 FM...you'll see what I mean when you try it...make sure to let the plane slow to its stall speed of 90 before re-correcting it to see what I mean...
-
U can corkscrew a B17 like a Sycamore seed with rudder, handy for dropping a couple thousand feet on landing :)
-
Know what you mean rip, its almost like it slides to the side at low speeds and high AoA when you kick the rudder and rons.
