Nope. Revor made three or four accounts posing as a newbie and thanking himself for training who was really himself and talking about how he was the best pilot ever through the shades accounts.

I'm going to go on the premise that Bum is the real deal guys.

Bum welcome aboard.  I've only been flying for a month and I'm hard core addicted.  Take some time to read over the help forum for the past 6 months or so because that will answer a tone of your general questions.  Check out netaces.org for more information than you can digest in a year or so but it will really ramp up your learning curve.  Go to the training area and hook up with a trainer you won't regret it.  This game is as complex as it gets but that's what makes it so awsome.

If you have any questions you don't feel like making public just pm me and I'll see if I have the answer.

Good luck and, again, welcome aboard.

Edit: nice to see another Texan round heya

To those who think I am this 'Revor' fellow. Let me say Im not. I don't know why y'all are giving me such a hard time, but please stop it. Im no body special. Just a guy who saw the commercial and thought the game looked cool. Now if Im gonna get this much hassle on the boards, why should I even bother spending a 100 bucks for a throttle and joystick? If ya want me to stay, I will, but again if ya want me to leave, I will. Make up your minds and let me know, then I will leave.

There has been a rash of current players posing as new noobies and making a grand entrance  on the boards as of late. Alot have been burned by welcoming the new player in to the fold and offering help only to find out some dork is desperate for attention. What you are getting the backlash of those peoples nonsense. Dont play the game for what people say on the boards, play it because its fun and you like it. You dont anyones permisson for that.

i would like to personally apologise to you bum as i was one of the paranoid bunch. welcome, this game is awesome and there are many people who would be glad to help you. come to the training arena and you will find trainers and others myself included who will be happy to help. btw, this game has a steep learning curve so dont be discouraged.its one of the things that makes it so addicting.

You have the "Skuzzy Seal of Approval", so you are ok in my book.

trainers@flyaceshigh.com  you can email them and setup a time for some 1 on 1 training.  (much need to all new players)

Read http://www.netaces.org  twice.  fly for a month, then read it again.

One of the best time's to be had in Aces High is the Special Events that are run all through the week.

You can click the button at the top of your screen  (it says, USER CP, REGISTER and then CALENDAR (http://www.hitechcreations.com/forums/calendar.php?s=) ) click the Calendar button to see what events are going on.  Most of the events you can just walk on, but a few do require you to register in advance.

Welcome to one of the greatest addictions known to the world.  Lemme know if ya' need any help.

Also, give it 6months.  AcesHigh has a huuuuuge learning curve.

Picking up on a comment you made in the other thread (I've only just read both), I would mention one thing. You don't need to plunk down $100+ for a stick/throttle combo, if you don't have one. I've been flying since AH1 came out on cheap sticks. Just stay away from gravis, and Logitech, and you should be fine. My $20.00 MS analog Precision Pro has served me well.

Do I dream of better sticks? Heck yes!! But I can get along with this just fine.

Get something cheap that can last a year or two. Make sure you're going to stick with AH (I'm sure you will) before spending mucho deniro* on gear.

Welcome to the best thing out there.
Ignore the bbs'ers , there's aa few bad apples in every crowd, and we have/have had some here also.
Be prepared to have your butt handed to you over and over, this is a normal part of the learning curve.
As a matter of fact, I still get my butt handed to me over and over, and I've been playin for a while.:D

Bum, welcome to AH! Dont let the bumpy start fool you. Generally this is a rather nice community.

Check out the Help&Training forum. Do a search for "Joystick" - youll find lots of tips on how to choose one.

In case noone has said it yet: RTFM and http://www.netaces.org really help a *ton* if you plan on staying longer then a few hours. AH has a steep learning curve, but this also make the game what it is. Ive been here two years, still learning something new every time i log on.

Anyways I will go with your not. go out and buy yourself an inexpensive twisty stick or something like that and see if you like it. This game has a huge learning curve, but it can be very rewarding to those that are dedicated in improving their abillities. Oh did I mention it is fun. Their is great core of trainers and very helpful people in this community. As far as squads go. Don't worry about that for now. Just log on and have a good time. If if see ya out their I'll help you anyway I can.;)

It's all good.. just keep plugging away.  Most importantly as I said in the other thread read the help forum and check out netaces.org for really good advice on what to do.

I've only been here a short while but I'll be happy to offer any pointers I have.

Hard for me. I always squelch the kill messages. Not my reason for playing and I don't care if somebody vulched/ picked somebody else. Plus the .squelch 6 command keeps the radio chatter from scrolling off so fast.

1.  Get rid of your real friends, they are irrelivant now.

2.  You are lucky you don't have a house cause you would have to give it to your wife after the divorce.

3.  Sleep is a thing of the past.

4.  You will develop peculiar driving habits.  Serious cases even paint crosshairs on their windshield.

5.  Your communication habits will now include odd phrases such as Roger, salute, and check six.

6.  A final warning.  If you are ever tempted to buy lether underwear, stop playing the game for a while, you need a break.

Welcome to the game.

Be sure to check out the special events arena.  http://www.ahevents.org

Your local sign shop will probably sell you adhesive vinyl material they use for vehicle signage. I think I paid between 3 and 5 bucks per linear foot. Having them use the funky cutting machine would simplify things, but I just grabbed the Xacto and a pane of glass for a cutting board.

I'm up to 3 confirmed opossums, 1 squirrel, and I got a probable on a racoon during last night's sortie. The recon guys are going out this evening- If they find the wreckage, that's number 5, and you know what that means... Ace in the PETA War!

To those who are 'new' to air combat online ..just one question:

Are you *GOOD* at flight sims?

Which ones have you flown?

(go ahead, make a list if you like)

When yer done . . forget most if not all of what you learned in them.

As a wise man once said long ago: 'Good against drones just doesn't cut it'

Read the Tao of DoK .. Embrace the Horror.

HI!  I'm Howie..  M/27/IL  I enjoy long walks on the beach, drinking pina coladas in the rain, going skinny skiing, attending bullfights on acid, and naked unicycle riding covered in Crisco.

My best feature:  My third nipple.
My worst feature:  My third nipple.

Depends on the situation I suppose.

Wow you work out?  You must be ripped.  Do you like films about gladiators?  Does your gym have a pool?  Mine does, we should go sometime.  I just got a new speedo, and believe me, the "fruitbowl" has never looked better than it does under 2 square inches of lycra.

LOL  I drive a bike for most of my commutes....I've used bug guts as a gunsight, and love B&Zing truckers....Wonder where I can get some kill markers for my gas tank....LOL

Won't B flying for the next few daays, as I'm stuck to this hospital bed and can't figure out how to smuggle my pC up here...I'm going crazy w/o anything to do. This laptop is my wifes and has a hard time playing Pac Man,so until i can figure a way to get my gear up here, all I can do is post on the BBS.

Hope to be either home  soon or have smuggled  my PC up here soon, miss being a flying bullseye to the point where my night shift nurse has gotten the hell scared outta her. Me yelling "check it, Niki divin in" when she woke me up last night. I got  good laugh from it, but shehasn't come in here since. Hope to be back in the air soon!

All of ya got ZAPPED!!!!! by that dolt. However sad his actions may be it does not make up for the lack of respect that he has shown all of you and Skuzzy the worst.

pretty good if you get skuzzy like that. This guy is a Blue Knight in the making, a junior Morpheus and Storch combination.

Lets get some input from the AH community and see what they think about this Atrocity that has occurred.

1. This "dolt" while being a dolt, never even "zapped his pee-pee" let alone a few of us.

2. Why even MENTION the BK's?  IMO, that is just as bad as the "witchhunt" for Revor you are wishing for.

Yeah this was too obvious from the start.  It dripped of the usual attention starved Revor stank that makes us all wish his mother loved him LOLH.

I was stunned when I saw the Skuzzmaster take the bait tho.
