im requesting a P-47 D40 or D-11 skin from the 56th FG 61 FS. preferably Hub Zemke's plane. I havnt been able to find a good colored picture of one but I'd appreciate the skin. Or, if someone can find me one I might try my hand at skinning

the 56th is well represented in the jug lineup anyway.

i dont know much about squadrons and who flew what, but almost every 47m is a 56th skin.... the d25 has 2-3 56th skins too

And the D11 has quite a few if I remember correctly.

The 56th FG was the only unit to get the P-47M IIRC, so skinners don't have a lot of choice there.
There are currently no 56th FG P-47D-40 skins. If someone can find me good info on a 61st FG late model P-47D that could be done on the D-40 shape (i.e. a version with dive recovery flaps and with a fin fillet) I could skin it when I get time. Probably won't be for at least a month or so though. I had a quick look for one but it seems all the 61st Jug photos are either D-25s or Ms.

D-40 was a rather late variant. At that time they were already on P-47Ms and had been running them through their paces for some time. Because of this I would doubt they ever had any D-40s.
Not 100% sure, but that was my understanding.

I have a number of skins of Hub Zemke's plane, however I show the Jug C-5 and D-25 for him.

What he said.

The 56th FG flew C's through D-28's and possibly a few D-30's plus all of the M's in combat.
Hub Zemke went on leave in the Summer of '44 and, upon his return from the States, learned that the 56th had the opportunity to switch to P-51s and chose not to. He was a bit ticked off.
Anyhow, I think the NM D-11 is 61st FS, the "grey" D-25 and old default D-25 is 61st FS and 2 M's are 61st FS.
