If by eye candy you mean the high res patch yes it will.
Just how much of it you can run will depend on the rest of your system.

eye candy, i believe is a program that runs dual montiors or what not, kinda like cuda for nvidia cards. i think thats what he means, if im wrong then say so :)

nope....eye candy means High quality verses performance

where one would turn down their graphics settings to get better FPS for performance

eye candy is , High Res Textures, shadows enabled, animated water, etc....( all which will take a bite out of your FPS )

and yes, if a person has the system ( CPU, System Memory, clean OS, etc ) then they can run Higher graphics settings with the ATI HD3870 video card...

definition of eye candy, is not the same for everybody.  mine has some pretty good eye candy, more than average and yet some other will consider that not so good.  I did pretty good with my old 9800gtx+, saw a slight improvement in eye candy, but solid 60 fps when in large furball with cv ack nearby.
