And loses..
Here is how it went down
The Build Up
Two weeks ago I dueled him in the hope he would ease up on 200 and I beat him twice in his Spitfire fair and square in a manner that could only be described as a decisive smack down. Unfortunately, in the absence of film he insisted in twisting it into something that sounded as though he had won. Obviously lessons had not been learned, sportsmanship and grace in defeat were sadly lacking.
The Count Down
I saw Midway was free and changed my ID. I wasn't sure where I was going with it, I didn't even want the name, but perhaps he might learn some humility in his effort to get it back. Either way I figured another month without it was a small price for him to pay for his antics.
The Clincher
I logged into MA and saw PhP aka Midway up to his old tricks. So I decided to settle it for good and invited PhP to the DA to fight for his name. Best of three, winner keeps the name.
The Main Event
PhP was serious, he went straight to the DA, never said a word, didn't choose planes, didn't discuss rules, he was a man on a mission, his "good name" was at stake :rofl
We both upped the Spitfire Mk VIII (obvious he would fly his best plane) and met on the deck. Both fights went almost exactly like our previous duels, I won using the same maneuver both times. In the first fight I missed the quick smack down and had to out turn him. But it was good to sit on his tail and watch him panic and stall. The second fight was classic. I gave him the bait, I watched him climb the rope, I watched him miss the shot and <POP> he lost 2-0 and I didn't take any damage at all.

The Outcome
It is official, I won it, I own it.
Unfortunately every time I fly as Midway, I feel like I need a shower afterwards. I realize he will never learn. Even worse, after all these easy PhP kills I'm beginning to feel like a bully.
Anyone interested in the Midway ID when my month is up?

11 m.p.h discrepancy in the second film at the merge.
Not the old dive in to the deck merge trick BadBoy surely, with the firm intention of energy fighting your opponent from the get go. Then you bring that here and expect peer support.

This is the best turn in the story yet. I vote a rematch in 2-weeks, then after you win you hand it off to the winner of another duel for it (make sure it passes on to someone who midy will have to work hard at to beat :devil )

I agree, but it's enough for that technique, especially if someone has basically only been doing that for ten years. In the interests of fair play and given what they were fighting for I would assume they'd have to be equal. Merge not shown in the first film.

It's not luck this is his technique Batty. Dive from what though? A deck merge means you don't climb at all in my book. 11 m.p.h. is considerable against an opponent who is famous for turning aggressively in the initial merges looking for that infamous front quarter shot.
I've got no especial love for Midway's B/S bragging, but you can't be partisan. Fair is fair. I think the evidence presented indicates nothing except possible foul play.

You could well be right about foul play.
I am purely discussing the ACMs shown, I have no desire to be personally affiliated with either side of the argument. I think Gunzo was lucky because midway got some good hits although only .303s. repeated 10 times midway would have scored some damage with that solution 50% of the time. A few pilots would have made that shot look easy everytime.
However, the method of rope a dope is as old as air combat itself I should imagine. It is extremely reckless to get caught in such a way. Supposing there was no foul play in the merge then there was nothing wrong with this method of killing. Not the most glamorous method or much of a display of skill, but falling for the oldest trick in the book is not the fault of the roper but the ropee.

At sea level? About 338mph. At best alt it is about 405mph.

Badboy, I gave you credit back in the day when you beat me in a duel, the problem was that you could never come to grips when the ownage went the other way... started running around in the arenas shade hunting us... for frickin years.... when you did sneak a shade by us and won a duel(always in the vertical luftberry move that was your only hope) you then would run your mouth like you're doing now, but when it didn't work, and you got shot in your ass, you disappeared fast.... only to come back shading later on and try the same lame bellybutton crap.... it's really a shame, because I'm a big fan of smack talking, but I like doing it to your face, as myself!!!! You are by far the most skilled cartoon pilot that I ever fell asleep fighting... its like your balls are so tightly squeezed between your nervous butt cheeks, you can't enjoy the fight! You knew alot of us and how we dueled, and knowing that, you could sneak a win or two in before we noticed your sig move and started slapping you like the worthless milktoast you are! Get over it bud, 8 years of slobbing Muppet ankles should be enough, eh?

11mph at the merge is nothing when someone like Midway will blow 50 or 60 or more and go full flaps to get the first shot.
The point is you don't need to be faster at the merge to do what I did, you just need to be flying against someone desperate enough to blow all their E in the first turn, and also desperate enough to try and hold their nose up for what is at best a very difficult shot.
In the film I posted I made the mistake of rolling into the vertical too soon, so I gave him a better chance than I normally would, and took a couple of pings, but no damage. Even so it is a very hard shot to make, even the best shots will miss when the roll out is timed right.

This is a game. Not a way of life. The fact that you are all so upset about the name being taken is sad itself. It is a name, who cares about a name in an online VIRTUAL game. It may be a way of life for some people but if this game is your "life" (Fester) then you need a serious re-evaluation.

2) I do not approve of the way the prank is being presented. There is recent trend of humiliating players which is un becoming of this community. Having a friendly joke at someones expense is fine, especially if he is annoying. Humiliating him is a different matter. I do not like where this is going, same as the recent incident with Fester.

You may try and claim you're 'pwning' The Few but in reality, you're just a squeaker that feels his life doesn't have enough validation so you're pretending to be someone that is better than you are, in the hopes that it raises your self-esteem. Actually I play everyday.........and last time I remembered we had no problem with each other or have you forgotten who I am? I just merely stated your last post was pathetic and you seemed to be encouraging this sort of behaviour. I honestly thought you was ok before I left 3 years ago I had a high opinion of you and have reserved my judgement of you until now, sheesh people do change......sometimes what it seems for the worse.
