since when does it only 5 or 6 rounds of HE to take out a VH?
why does a air field or a base with shore batteries start flashing long before my fighter or bomber even reaches the radar circle, radar up or down doesn't matter?
-
somebody had damaged the vh before.
sb will flash before you enter radar circle, think is tied to distance to sb not radar circle.

The VH was probably already soft.
I believe you will flash town or shore bat if you are within 12.5 miles of said feature. So is the shore Bat is 4 miles from base and you are 11 miles from the shore bat you will flash it even when you are outside the dar ring.

Both answers above.....

This is why you will hear people say that he VH (or whatever) is "soft". Someone has already hit it, but did not do enough damage to destroy it. It needs some more hits to finish it off.
Partial damage is repaired as time passes. Partial damage is repaired either at the same rate as full damage, or in half the time. I can't remember exactly how the partial damage repair works.

It is 1/2 the unadjusted down time. So for vehicle hangers it 7.5 minutes before your hits expire, so to speak. Something that is modified like the ammo bunkers it is always 1/2 of 30 minutes, 15 minutes.

seems to me that nothing should flash until you cross radar line.
so if its going flash stuff before you cross radar line why have radar at all.

Think of it as ground spotters calling in your position and alerting the closest facility.
