I like the sky

:O
-
Gig'em! Haha I saw the Sawem off on the freight cart in the second video. :rock :D
-
WOW!, Hitech has his own railroad now! :aok
Very nice !
-
It's not every day that Hi Tech shows you something long that might shoot you in the face. :devil
-
Much talk these days about puffy from CV's. Back in the day, were the trains of death. But then, I was new, and was probably doing it all wrong.
-
I would like to see them at more fields instead of the trucks perhaps and not sectors away from the enemy. :(
They used to travel to the old strat sites if I remember correctly. :headscratch:
There were networks of trains all across war torn Europe.
-
Trains? Last time was a snapshot few months ago - the scenario where P-47s hunt down the train. Otherwise I have never seen a train in the main arena.
-
:aok
-
I love trains. Have a large collection of Marklin trains. :aok
These are awesome. I hope we can see more trains in AH and have more flexibility in adding them to custom terrains. :)
-
Man, those are absolutely BEAUTIFUL.
Call me crazy, but I smell a reworking of the old
"strat zones" being reimplemented down the road. :)
Regards, Odd

Yeah, back in the day stumbling across a train could get you killed pretty darn quick.

Just watching it makes me wanna hop in a plane n shoot it to bits :airplane:

HiTech
Cool!
What game is this?
-
Nice job. Road convoy next I bet :D
-
Beautiful work. Love the Hi tech Creations Railway passenger cars. Now for marshalling yards, trestle bridges and tunnels and routes all over the maps! Could be great for both the strategy guy bomber types and the more tactically-oriented loco busters.
-
HiTech Creations goes combat train simulator? :O

Could be great for both the strategy guy bomber types and the more tactically-oriented loco busters.
Very good point and lots of perkies to be had.
Trains, convoys, and barges are built into the terrain. Each train, convoy, or barge has a source point and a destination point, and each can be damaged or destroyed while traveling from point to point. Trains, convoys, and barges automatically respawn every ten minutes.
Destroying a train, convoy or barge will add an additional 7 minutes of downtime to any destroyed field or strategic resource that it supplies. (See table below)
Once a train, convoy, or barge has successfully reached its destination, a new supply convoy spawns.
The supply targets are the trains, convoys, and barges that resupply damaged fields and factories.
Assuming the zone city and associated factories haven't been hit a destoyed town building and or field target (excluding hangers) will stay down for 30 minutes. Destroy HiTechs pretty new train and rolling stock and the destroyed objects stay down longer.
If you really want to go crazy on squad night you could bomb the city and all the factories, whilst camping a train track, so no supplies get through, to the field you want to capture....or something like that :devil
-
How about a Manned Gun on the train! :x
-
I saw a pair of quad 20mm (?) AA guns. Is that all? :)
The train looks great, I hope to see it in the MA's real soon. :aok
-
There's 3 separate flack cars. It's going to be fun and nasty to strafe...or get caught in a dogfight over
-
Back in the day of the old zone strat system, trains were quite fun. The auto ack from the trains was crazy accurate and deadly. I use to use the GV spawns to an nme strat, beat it to death with an Osti, then wait for the train to arrive. Boom! Quite fun when I was having a rough night in the air.. Blowing up stuff is fun!
-
How about a Manned Gun on the train! :x
:salute was thinking the same thing. will we be able to man them guns?
-
Are we going to have trains in more places then just the strats?
-
Awfully quiet for a train...

I wished for man-able trains last week. Still waiting for their implementation.
I'd also like to see the Union Pacific BigBoys modeled as they were in use starting in 1940.
-
If anyone wants to go locobusting contact me in game when the bishops are within a reasonable distance of the enemy strats.
-
I can see it now. :O
Some tard with low score has taken control of TR-4 and is driving it right to the enemy base on track 9.

Absolutely! It was always fun, especially late at night when there wasn't much going on, to drive across a few sectors in tanks to the strats that didn't have vehicle spawns. Get a few guys together and make your way through the hills and forests just to terrorize a strat and the train. And ya always had the special guy fly you vehicle supps so you could continue!
-
What's under the one with tarps? Looks big... 190 engine upgrades? :devil :aok
-
WOOOOOO WOOOOOO
PLZ make it so we can operate the train and gun from it. Also big bertha railguns? Hell yeah. I've never been more exited about ground war. Will there be railyards?
-
snailyards :noid

That goes without saying. Maybe allow double heading and perk that as well.

Waffle: you liked that brass bell so much you put three on? ;) (I've never seen a steam engine with more than one bell.)
-
I would like to see them and RR stations that can be strategically bombed to hold down resupping of bases tied to it. That way you could bomb a strat that controlled the defense of an area - you really have a good reason to hit it and to defend it.

The old trains were easy to kill fly low fast and from the front and no gun can shoot you. If you are in a 110 or 410 just squeeze and make a full pass and no more train.

HEY! It might be a week late but I saw that!
Maybe 3x as fast but don't tell alfa, he's still hiking up his skirt trying to pay last months
:noid
-
I remember when you could spawn a GV to a strat target and wait on the train to come and kill it with the main gun. I don't know if we got points or not for it but it was fun to shoot up.

looks as is to me. (not that my computer can dream of producing that detail)
-
I see a new type of bridge as well...
-
Road, terrain, (and bridge) look the same as we have now. Train and the trucks are new (and nice).
-
Those trucks looks delicious, far more appetising than those old ones out of the lego box.
-
Rail yards and a more direct interaction with bases along with factories would be good.

RAF Bomber Command vs Railway Yards
Aulnoye Railroad Yards Destroyed
The R.A.F. Bomber Command’s heavy attack on Aulnoye, France, the night of April 27/28, 1944, caused specially heavy damage in the area of the sorting sidings. Each of the 32 tracks in this area was cut in several places and damage and destruction amongst the large concentration of rolling stock was very severe. There is 80 percent damage to the carriage and wagon repair shops. British official photos show:
Above - The target after two attacks in March and April but before the R.A.F. Bomber Command’s concentrated attack of April 27/28. (c. 4330)
Below - After the attack - almost complete obliteration. Tracks have been cut and rolling stock scattered in complete confusion. The series of curves, which now form the road at the top, have been made by vehicles and people passing around the craters and debris. The same type of paths can be seen in the railroad yard and have been made by people trying to get to the scene of devastation. (c.4331)

Railroad Yards at Juvisy, Paris
On the night of April 18/19, 1944, R.A.F. Bomber Command dispatched over 1,000 aircraft on a large number of operations. In particular, forces of four-engined Lancasters and Halifaxes left England just before midnight to attack railroad targets near Paris. One of these was Juvisy, a dozen miles further up the Seine. British official photos show:
Left - The Juvisy yards before the R.A.F. attack. (c.4295)
Right - Exactly the same area on the afternoon of April 19. Note the complete disappearance of workshops, repair depots, signaling apparatus, warehouses, roundhouses and nearly all facilities. Rolling stock can be seen lying between the shattered tracks in grotesque positions. (c.4297)

Permanent Way Depot at Chambly, North of Paris
Claimed to be one of the most important and up-to-date permanent way depots in Europe, Chambly was the target of R.A.F. Bomber Command’s attack the night of May 1/2, 1944. British official photos show:
Above - The target before the R.A.F. attack. (c. 4328)
Below - The same area after attack. The points and crossings shop and the railroad ties impregnation plant, with their allied buildings, have been almost totally destroyed. The stores yards - which were well filled with stores prior to the attack - are saturated with craters and the majority of the contents destroyed or damaged. Many of the buildings have been completely obliterated. (c. 4329)

On a side note, I'm amazed to how accurate their attacks on these railyards are. :aok

I actually didn't type any of that. I just copied it from the site I found it on. Wasn't trying to imply it was my work.

The method, so far as I am aware, was for Mossie Pathfinders to go in low ahead of the main force and drop colored flares, could be four points or just two, and once satisfied with the positions of the markers tell the heavies which color to use as a reference for aiming. The heavies would then try to land their bombs between the flares. Because the RAF bombed at night each bomber aimer was responsible for his on aircraft's aiming. There was no dropping on the leader.
Using tactics like this by 1944 the RAF managed to match, or exceed, the accuracy that the USAAF had during the day.

Then the person who typed it got their up/down/left/rights mixed, that or the pictures are just flopped. :lol
I was curious to how they managed such a high degree of accuracy. If I didn't know any better, I would have said they did those raids in daylight. :aok
-
My real intent with the post was to advocate for what great targets rail yards are. :p
-
And I'm 100% for the addition of them. :x
-
+1 give us rail yards HT or suffer jk jk but seriously man we got the new train coming out so lets get an actual train depot instead of the little black building out inthe middle of nowhere
