There is a program called MagicJellyBean That will let you see your CD key. Download it here http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder/ (http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder/)

It is a free program. You will have to installed it to get you key. Watch for the check boxes. I downloaded and installed it on one of my test computers

and it works great if the O/S is already installed.

is your key one that produces a -640- number when you look in the my computer properties? i have tons of COA's here , you can readily download the DISC from the internet.  generaly i have never seen a corp be unable to activate unless its been blacklisted

if you have a brand name computer the key is in back of the tower or on the side.  on laptops some are in the battery compartment.

Have you tried calling Microsoft and activating over the phone.  If it's a valid disc, it usually takes about 10 min and your on your way.

Odd.. that COA must have been used and abused!

I've never had an issue calling MS for validation, and this includes a few 'questionable' yet non-fraudulent situations.

Congrats on getting it working!

Thanks!

I only know I got this OS from an ol' friend... years ago... Corporate Edition SP1(was upgraded to SP3)... and it worked fine for years.

Started getting a WPD installer error... long story short... reformatted... reloaded... revalidated... rejected.

Thinking I heard that because of age... and when I reloaded SP2 & SP3... it screwed up validation key somehow?

Should buy a new comp(desktop)... but... it's my X's... and it's all I got from the divorce! :rofl

Thanks again...

only way the key would be invalid is if it was black listed

The only way I can think of for the reason for the blacklisting to be any more obvious is if it was stapled to a dead fish, and you were beaten with it.

Something smells fishy, never heard of a corporate version of XP wanting to validate.

it doesnt, but if its on the blacklisted it is flagged for not authentic.

i have a offical corp license number and never had a issue, but if use a blacklisted one ie FCKGW one. your WGA will not pass

Haha, I remember the ole FCKGW key very well..I worked for HP back in 2000 and XP had just started in beta testing..back in that time I had the top notch P3 system with 2gb of ram.

Actually, I don't think you have to validate corp XP at all...

--BUT--

With each service pack, they also installed a list of keys that they knew were being abused... and if your key was on that list it made it fail validation.

It's real simple... CORP EDITION + GOT IT FROM A FRIEND = PIRATED

LOL
