This Major George E. Preddy, Jr.’s P-51D-5-NA “Cripes A’Mighty 3rd” coded HO*P. Maj. Preddy was the highest scoring ace in the P-51 with 26.83 victories placing him sixth all-time among American pilots. He was shot down on Christmas Day 1944 by friendly fire. He was 25.
800Nates asked me to take this one on so I did. Originally skinned by Fencer I have redrawn it entirely, showing it as it appeared with its full scoreboard. I may post additional screenshots later...

Looks great.
I believe that Cripes A'Mighty 3rd had a lighter/duller blue nose though.
Also, the drop shadow of the white letters looks black and not red.

As you know, the blue has been my number one struggle on these 352nd skins. :bhead
The lettering is always rendered as red. It's easy enough to change to black. I considered it but wasn't confident that it was correct.

Thank you, MF (chuckle). That section has a lot of polygon curves and stretching that can be a bit tricky. I may tweak those markings a tad more but I think this is about as good as I can get them.

Thanks, G. I'll sleep on it for a bit then maybe tackle some tweaks, but at least it is flyable as is for now.

Maj. Preddy is my favorite American pilot in war. He is a local (from Greensboro, NC) and a bit of a hero around here. I wonder if we could get his P-47 and his Bravo Pony in game as well? Devil did his P-40 for me, which is oddly my favorite. I guess because of the cool dragon and 'Tarheel.' Is there a reason you chose his early D and not one of the dorsal ones? Didn't like the red rudder I suppose? Or, was it an adopted skin? Anyway, his PE*P's are sweet and his P-51B HO*Y is utterly awesome.

Well, the B Mustang slots are full. Fencer has a blue nose in the group already (Heller Bust) if that helps. Jugs are outside my wheelhouse but I am betting it is possible.

Unfortunately all the P-47D-11 slots are full as well. The P-47 series was one of the first AH2 shapes so hopefully now all but one of the AH1 shapes have been updated it won't be too long until we get a new one.
