Enough with the aimbot chatter already! Been hearing this since I started playing around 2005. Yet to have anyone prove they exist.
Is there nothing to be said for years of experience and muscle memory? I’m a 20 year drummer… feel free to try to @ me that those qualities play no factor. :rock
I say it’s all legit BS! :bolt:
-
Yeah, while I'm sure they exist, 99.9% of the players have no use for them, its just a justification some players use to explain why they got shot down.
Now gaming the game (hiding in buildings) that happens. Hopefully Hitech will fix that.
-
To be honest 99% of the time it's a subtle tip of the hat to the shooter.

:aok It took me 3 bombs to kill Buffalo the other day!???? "Yeah, 1stpar, thats how I know you dont cheat!" I'll take it! :rofl It gets old, the accusations, it truly does. :bhead I have been practicing/perfecting that skill for 8 years now...surely it should be a KNOWN FACT by now? ATTACK my bases, and give me access to a Spit XVI and ORD...well is what you should expect? :neener:

When you shoot them down and they say you cheated consider it a compliment
It's called the internet

Don't talk bollocks Eagler it's sour grapes and spitefulness. "Nice shot" <- that's a compliment.
-
To each their own..
I consider it a compliment
..or be insulted ..it's your choice
Most of what someone thinks is an odd shot is the internet and its lag effects

You haven't arrived in AH until you're being accused of cheating.
-
Because of the scoring, for the most part the Hit% would be an indicator of aimbot. For example a hit% of say 15% would put you in the top 5 of all players in the game for fighter mode. Even directly shooting at bombers doesn't give you above a 30%. An aimbot would have a player scoring in the 30s after multiple sorties which wouldn't be possible. It would be nice to see who scored #1 hit%, but I doubt it would be a new or suspicious player achieving it.

Pretty sure nobody is accusing me of aimbotting! :D

An aimbot will work in a ground based FPS where all it need do is recognize a target and center your view on that target. Not so simple in a flight sim.

Top 20 hit% (fighter mode) pilots in tours 275 and 276, and the number of kills made in that mode:
The median hit% for all 492 pilots with at least 10 kills in fighter mode was 3.94% in tour 276.
-
I only see a couple of those names when I play usually 8-11P est
-
I'm always entertained (annoyed) by the whining when someone gets shot down - usually by buffs. If you come in from the 6 and get killed it's because you are a dumb*ss.

I don’t get it, I fly straight and level and their bullets still hit me. MUST BE CHEATS!

you should do one on me
My numbers are low. I just take a lot of shots in a tour and rack em up :aok

I've never been good enough to be accused of cheating. :embarrassed:

I'm personally responsible for lowering the stats on at least 3 of those players
IMHO you harm your overall gunnery focussing too much on simple statistics. We aren't efficient machines, we're animals and animals should act in accordance with their nature. I reckon my statistics are 88% hit ratio, 33%-50% of the time :rofl Which if you think about it is fantastic because I usually get 2-3 potential guns solutions per fight.
I'm interested in Lusche's philosophy on shooting since military service notwithstanding means he likely has not been taught to shoot :headscratch:

"Talk bollocks"? nrshida, Brother, Eagler is 'Bad Mouthed...CHEATER' way more than even I am...and that is SPEAKING VOLUMES! IMHO, he speaks from a Point Of Relevance. Unfortunately...these days, it IS SOMETHING akin to a Badge of "I Have Arrived"! :uhoh I understand what you posted! Eagler is like you and I....Not ONCE have we ever griped about "You...this...you are a THAT". Due was acknowledged, "Awesome shot,Sir.......<S>"....ect ect. This IS NOT the NORM these days :uhoh Its gotten way worse since I last saw you ingame, just a few months ago. :bhead

Look for the biggest target available and get as close as possible, like this one yesterday:

Foodstap is the only one I'd check out on that list. However it appears most of his kills were on one player named Mattking in the lancaster (86) with a P39 and 110. Still interesting he kept it that high with A6m and Brewster among a bunch of other planes. He must have had a really high hit% not counting the other planes. Blkjak with a 60% even on one kill is pretty crazy. I recon 2 bullets were shot from the 262 and one hit where he ended up getting the kill?
In any case, this list and average hit% show that no one is using an aimbot.
-
This another one of those silly excuses folks use when they make a mistake. Own your mistakes, make corrections, and then you will get better. If not, then your suckage will continue. :aok
-
For every 20 sucky aiming misses, I get one really nice, "wow, I even impressed myself with that shot" moment. But in general, the way I engage - outflying, (and missing my shots until I get it) as opposed to a quick kill (which might've been a wtf kind of shot) is why I've never dealt with any accusations of cheating over my career.
In general, for air combat, it is latency, often combined with misreading perspectives, that create cries of aimbots.
For GVers it's generally been an issue of not grasping the low fidelity tree/ground modeling works (perspectives.)
-
High altitude bomber hunting makes for a high hit percentage.
Chasing stick-stirring Yaks and Doras around their ack makes for the opposite. :uhoh
-
Not so long time ago I made negative G with P39 and lost a wing. Must have been aimbot.
-
I hit every tree I shoot at, every time.

Absolute textbook, Luftwaffe tactic, executed perfectly including exploiting the top turret's inability to quickly transition from front to rear hemispheres. Splendid. I <Salute> you sir

You're clearly cheating with you flying brah. LA7s can't turn like that :old:

Yup that was a long time ago, and even then HTC's software caught them. I think I even remember who it was, name began with a "P" I think.
-
Wing mounted cannons decrease the hit% much.
Best to chose like a Mosquito, P38 or a Bf109 without gondolas.
Worst is probably the 4-cannon FW190a5 with 3 different trajectories.
Personally I do not believe in those aimbot's, most of the top killers have more trigger time than a full tour pilot had flight hours.
-
Save where u been at? Wheres that 190a8

I remember some guy flying around in a spit dropping hundreds of bombs, taking off vertical and all kinds of crazy stuff.
Was that the guy?

Very little incentive for anyone to hack AH. Most cheaters in online games do not understand code themselves. They buy cheats from a single hacker to gain an advantage most often in FPS games.
Very rare that anyone would find any reason to hack Aces High other than pure boredom.

Win at all costs..that is all that matters for many
Cheating and stealing are the norms today in all aspects of life
We have lost our moral compass
That said I haven't seen any evidence of cheating in AH in the 20 something years I have played it

They got caught because of built-in measures. Probably not wise to say more but it's not hard to do technically.

They got caught because someone called and HT logged in and nuked the kid lol

Oh hey forgot to tell you, two weeks ago I was spotting for shufly I think - he was in a T-34 and you were in a Panzer. You kept shooting him, and left a nice long line of smoke behind him. If you want to do damage AP is best :devil

Absolutely agree with this!
Outside the underlined part... I have and I have reported that years ago, including the website the hugahunk was using to host it for others to download!
