Title: •The 484th Bomb Group Heavy •
Post by: blkmgc on March 30, 2008, 08:46:51 AM
The 484th Bomb group heavy comes from the 550th BGH of Warbirds. We've been flying historical bomber operations  since the mid 90's in general arenas , and as one of the premier bomber squads in Warbirds Squad Select Series. Were always looking for pilots who enjoy flying historical high and med alt and NOE strike missions. If your 21or older, have Temspeak with a working mic, and are interested, click the link in my sig and register on our forums. I'll make sure you get the TS info, and you can hook up with us for a few flights and see if it fits your flying style.Squad nights are Tues and Sun at 7:30 PM EST . We also use ingame VOX channel 184.

The 484th is also a proud supporter of the fine folks at the Debdenboys Gaming Community (link in sig) which encompasses all of the games you see in the "who's on TS " box on our homepage. Over 300 members and 3 million hits in the last 8 months. Always something to do if your into PC gaming from racing Nr2003 or rFactor to Jumpgate, to several FPS's and MMOrpg's.:)

We only have a few rules
•21 or older
•Teamspeak with a working mic
• Have fun

See you ingame. :salute

My squadron are mostly adults. When we reach 18 members our bomb group will split into two squads. The 2nd squad will be led by 100Dino, and I can have him sign up for any events you gentlemen fly in.

Will do. I will be leading them but I won't be on your teamspeak channel. "Don't use that anyways". They can though. If I cannot fly with you on events then perhaps I can have my XO lead "he's older then 50" and I can join him as gunner and PM him flight instructions. Will that work?

The 21 or older rule is for our Teamspeak server and to join our group. Since I would assume that you already have some form of comms with your group, and are not looking to join us, then I really see no issue with you or your group flying missions in game with us. Am I missing something?

No sir your not missing anything... I have a sketch (plans)  for a 3-unit bombgroup planned out using your group as lead and my two squads (we will break into two: 100thBGH 338 BS, 100thBGH 418 BS) will follow you all in an organized combat box. For escorts we'll have LCA Renages, LCA Intrcpt, VF-17 Jolley Rogers, 4thFG =Debden boys=, and the Black Templars. Let me know if you would like me to scan it and email it to you.

Good grief, that'll mean we'll have to fly those ugly duckling bombers <GDR>

Organized events are hard for us because they are mainly PST centric...and we are EST centric. Us old farts cant start an event at 11:00 PM , hehe.

Good run last night folks. Also, a big <S> to the 78th. The best escorts in the game. :)
Two strat targets hammered, lots of cons showed and made it interesting. 90% pilots RTB'd. WTG!

Great runs last night! Flew 1 Strategic Mission with the 100th BG with the 78th Razorbacks as escorts. About 70% dammage to both the Bish's refinery, and radar. Light con activity. Must be they was scared, as we spent at least 15 minutes or so right in their radar. :D  All pilots RTB

Second run was an NOE B25h mission to finish off the Bish City. We took it down to about 5% standing, but got swarmed on our way out.

6-17 "Ploesti" style mass raid on the bish Refinery and ammo with the 78th FG, and 100th BG. Both brought down to less than 10% in one pass.

Good run folks.I was kinda expecting more opposition with an open mission and announcements of it on Country channel, and then spending about 0-15 minutes over enemy radar...must be the enemy was askeered. :D

Anywho, the 484th rolled two squadrons, the 827th and 825th sq, and hit two knight strat targets. The AAA factory and City.We were escorted by the best escort squadron in the game, the 78th Razorbacks. The AAA factory and City. The 825th lead by Bigmo performed flawlessly from the split from the group , right up to the rp with the 827th after the drop for egress over the knight port. When both groups left the area, the City was down to 8% , and the AAA factory was down to 22%. All pilots RTB'd except Crysis54 who lost to mechanical failure. Some cons were reported behind the group including a 262 who though better of risking an encounter with our escorts , or attacking our tight formations , and facing all those 50's <EG>. Good run all in all. <S!>

Nice run last night folks. Rolled 2 groups from 2 fields for FR issues. 100th BG was lead , and the 78th FG was escort. Cons found us as we were over their  strat targets ,and a long rolling fight ensued. We sustained about 25% losses. But the final tally was 4 strat targets all but flattened (2 cities, 1 refinery, one ammo factory) , and 12+ kills for the escorts. We lost approximately 6 bombers total for the 2 groups.

Good run! See you all again next Tuesday. Link in sig for anyone interested in this type of game play

Summer Break

After tonights Squad Night, the 484th (BGH) will be standing down official flights opps until Sunday Sept 7 for summer break. No flight is required during this time for official status. The break is well deserved folks. Great turnout and bombing by all for a long long time now.
Upon return, there will be some new and surprising additions to the whole operation. Theres more info in the private forums at the website.
