Thunder & Lightning (http://ahevents.org/european-theatre/thunder-lightning.html)
Ladies and Gents, the next Sunday Night Scramble will pit the Allies vs the Luftwaffe in the skies over occupied France in the bloody summer of 1943.
All are welcome to attend at a special time of July 29th - 8:00 PM EDT.
Of course we are looking for some energetic pilots who are willing to act as lead for each of the three bomber groups, as well as the escorts. Plus of course some Leaders for the Luftwaffe groups.
As you can see the only limit we have is on the number of bombers available. So please contact me if you have any desire to lead some Heavies or any of the other groups we have available.
Please contact me if you're interested via PM or Email.

I have eight BOPs lined up to fly bombers, preferably B17's if possible. I'm still trying to rustle up escorts.
-
Dust off "Boise Bee", I feel my inner Jugoon trying to break out again...
-
Do you have to be with a squad as per FSO? Or can you Just turn up and fill in where needed?
I always like the Buffs with Escorts taking on the LW scenarios, always good fun and you really get some good immersion in this.
cheers Hawco:aok

Hehe, judging by that avatar, I'd have to agree.:D
-
I will try and make it. Sounds like a fun one.
-
Are we using the AVA type bombsite for this scenario? And are there any windage settings enabled?
-
Standard MA Bombsite.

Boy am I glad I am not flying Axis in DGS, I am not smart enough.
I was making a pass at 25k through 38s at what I thought was the nose of the B-17 group.
In the back of my mind I kep wondering why the closure rate seemed slow... I KNEW I was in front of them because of the angle I came in at...
I just figured I was imagining it.. until I got 1.5k out and saw the tails and realized somehow I had gotten turned south and was coming in behind them... 1 B-17 down, dead engine in the 109G6 and a smoking trail into the earth from 25k... those things lock up quick..

These SnS events get better everytime. Thanks for all the fun.
To all the 68 guys for keeping the 110's attack group together.
To the jug that i fought at 25k. My snap rolls weren't on purpose, lol.
To everyone involved.
See you guys at the next one.
:aok

Some fight it was, 4 fw190 against the world, lol
what's up with the spitfire's, so protective of your bomber group when all I ever wanted was just to get close enough to say hello.. :D
All, it was one hell of a fight...

I had a great fight with a 38 last night, went from 25 to deck....was fortunate to stay alive long enough to get one of his engines on a snap shot, but it wasn't enough. After trying everything I could think to do, he got me in a scissors and smoked me. I have to say that was BEST fight I've had since starting to fly AH. When i went to turn off film I hit alt F4 like an idiot. I think after watching the film the 38 was muddart
sir fun fight!

muddart was talking about that fight, said it was some of the best fun he'd had in a while, sounded like it :)
