Title: A reminder to our fellow Americans
Post by: Mister Fork on June 06, 2018, 01:33:17 PM
Don't mess with the Canucks. We are very nice people. And say sorry a lot. But we'll burn your White House down again in you tick us off. Again. For the second time. And then say "sorry bruh", and pour you a nice shot of maple whiskey while we watch the building burn munching on a beaver tail. (http://www.pajiba.com/image/crossdressing%20lumberjack.jpg)
Don't make the beaver angry. (https://cottagelife.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Brian-LasenbyShutterstock.com_.jpg)
Have a good day eh!
:D

But we love Canadians down here in southern Arkansas - it’s not beaver tail you’re munching on, but our wood!

^^^^ This has to be the most infuriating stereotype I've heard.
Yeah I say sorry a lot, and eh? to make a sentence a question, but for all that is holy and sacred, only a few souls in Canada say aboot. And they are weirdos.
Grandfather on my fathers side got a purple heart :uhoh As a spitfire mechanic because one fell on him and busted his knee up. Still proud of him.

Considering the population of Canada and the size of their armed forces in 1944, it was a considerable contribution and sacrifice. Not to mention their efforts in the North Atlantic, North Africa and Italy, and the skies over Occupied Europe since the war started.

Some trivia
1) The fourth largest Allied air force By early 1944, the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) reached its peak with 215 000 members and 78 squadrons thus making it the fourth largest allied air force after the US Army Air Force (USAAF), the Soviet Air Force and the Royal Air Force (RAF).
2) The world’s third largest navy by WW2’s end By 1945, following the destruction of the Axis navies, The Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) was the third largest naval force in the world after the US Navy and the Royal Navy. It was focused on convoy escort and Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW). Following the Allied victory, the RCN boasted 95 000 members and 434 commissioned vessels including cruisers, destroyers, frigates and auxiliaries.
This from a population of ~12,000,000

Nobody said Canada didn't contribute.
The joke was clearly lost in translation. It happens.

I just learned that - he flew the Mark IV Auster (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taylorcraft_Auster) artillery spotting airplane. "Craziest pilot in the Canadian Air Force"... :D

Quote from: Canada’s National Post
Granted, at the time Canada was still a British colony and any resident there would have been considered British. However, the soldiers who burned down Washington were all expeditionary troops sent direct from Great Britain, unlike the local militias and Indigenous warriors who had done much of the fighting during earlier U.S. attempts to invade what is now Ontario.
Like Canadians were ever allowed to own matches. They are too dangerous!

No boys in the air if it were not for those mechanics. The whole ground crew were just as important as the pilot who flew the/their plane.

It’s funny how some forget indeed...
1,079,162 + 30,314 and...
300 per day.
I’ve never forgotten these numbers (roughly speaking, since they vary by source).

Regardless of how you count neither the US or Canada is even close to the no 1 spot when it come to casualties and suffering during WW2. I dont see why it really matters though...

Canadians are great! Mind their own business and get along.
It's "little potatoe" I am worried about.
