Title: Sounds in limbo
Post by: Chalenge on September 30, 2020, 07:21:38 AM
I've suffered a stroke over the weekend. No idea yet where this will lead or how long  it will take.

Sorry guys.

From one stroke survivor to another, may you not only survive this but get better.

Take care of yourself Chalenge.
You have already given so much to the AH community. Now we can give a little back to you with our thoughts and prayers.

Thank goodness it wasn't a scorpion bite!

I'll say as much! Where your mind goes sometimes!

I had my preacher fly me up to Atlanta where they have a better unit for this. We were well beyond thr four hour window at that point. They wheeled me straight in and got me settled until the schedule cleared up for CT and MRI. Neither family nor clergy are allowed in withg the patient beyond the ER (this is changing next week), so my wife and preacher left at this point. My breathing went erratic just getting set up for the MRI, so they rescheduled that for the following day. The MRI wasn't as bad as I had heard, but the headphones were about useless (don't bother). The end result is I had what they think is total blockage on left artery, and 50% on the right. So, I went almost directly to the angiogram. After they restored 50% they called it a day. I was awake for the entire procedure and it didn't cause any weird panic watching my neck being worked on from the the surgery monitor. What was weird was the imagery my brain conjured up while there were HD images being made of the affected area, and heat oddly enough. Amazing technology that I would be unaware of.

Not fun, at all, but it must be my own fault for loving hamburgers, ice cream, and Coca-Cola! So they say. Someone will say it's 5G.

I think all of us are guilty of those pleasures.  That 5G comment made me laugh.  Happy to see it's being treated Chalenge. We were all praying for you.   :pray

last week I heard an airplane flying close to my house. I jumped up excited by the sound of the engine i knew it was a p51. sounded just like your sound. I didn't get to see it as it was flying away by the time i got to the backyard.

thanks for all your hard work and wish you well   :salute:salute

I'm feeling pretty useless. I tried installing a left-handed mouse, but the typing is just too tedious. Recovery has been hampered by a bout of tendonitis, which makes the therapy exercises impossible. I'm not about to give up. I still plan to hunt Sitka Elk, and B.C. Mountain Caribou. There's a fix for all the problems in my sound pack, I just need to get to where I can do the work.

Your strong spirit is refreshing. Thank you for continuing to post and update the community on your well being. As you can see, you are cared about and I hope when times are hard you will recall the love.

Something you may have considered but worth mentioning; is there anyone close to you or in the AH community that you are willing to train (i.e talk them through, supervise, etc) to assist you with any of the updates you’ve identified that you would like to make to your sound pack?

I sincerely hope you will find a way through recovery and adaptation to be at least close to your own independent self but you might find satisfaction - in the mean time - in teaching someone and/or directing them to do the grunt work of typing/coding and implementing your creative and technical know how.

I'm fine. What's not fine is the waiting period to see a doctor.

I'm still not 100%, but I am able to get back to work with FMOD again. Just a matter of time now.
