Title: Tuscadero works, BLUE doesn't
Post by: LLogann on July 23, 2010, 11:32:18 PM
I know it's a diff box on your end HTC..............   But this is the first time I've ever had issue, can't get into BLUE.  Soon as I get in, I get "Host Connection Lost."

Anybody else?

Thoughts?

Over the last 36 hours this has happened every time I try BLUE.

Pinky works just fine but nothing on the BLUE server.

So it's almost 1am on the east coast, and I am literally stuck at the AH start menu.  Suddenly arena caps are an issue.

It feels a little like Horse Chit.........  (Wanted to say alot worse....   My Friday I guess is over, goodnight)

Yes, 99,999 times out of 100,000 when you can connect to one box that's sitting right next to the one you can't, on the same network and subnet, when no one else has a problem connecting - then, yes.  Firewall.  You've somehow disallowed traffic to 206.16.60.39. Can you ping 206.16.60.39? What do you have installed on your system for a firewall?

The other snowball's chance in he$$ is that you have such a low end machine that it's just too slow to load whatever terrain is in the arena, and takes too long to connect, causing the server to time you out during the connection process.

But I'd bet on the firewall, myself.

Sounds like firewall to me as well.

If it is a timeout issue while loading the arena, it is easily observed by the long delay in the loading dialog box.  If you do not get the dialog box showing things are being loaded, the initial connection to the arena failed.

Running any anti-virus or file security software?  That could cause it as well.

REALLY STRANGE......   All I did this morning was "release & renew" and now BLUE is up and running.

Don't use Windows FireWall, and running AVG Corp.  That computer is basically just an AH computer, and highend enough.....  nVidia 8800 V-card, but only 512 VM.

With the new IP it works fine now.  I'm going to try and recreate it to see where the problem came from.

Thanks Gents   :salute

That is not unusual.  I have seen firewall databases get corrupted by anti-virus software.
